I've wanted to learn the piano ever since I was a little kid. And I mean really little; my parents have videos of me sitting on the floor, hitting the carpet with my fingers while singing. When asked what I was doing, I responded, "Playing the piano!" I was about two then. I'm twenty-three now.
Before today, I had never taken a piano lesson in my life. I'm a cellist, a sometimes-guitarist, and a flutist, but never have I been a pianist. I've taught myself a little bit, and actually learned to play River Flows in You by ear.
So, starting now, I'm fulfilling what's been a life-long dream for me: learning to play the piano. Properly.

That's amazing! I'm glad you are finally getting to live your dream!
I've wanted to learn the guitar for two years now, and it hasn't been a very successful journey so far xp Last summer I finally got the courage to tell my mom I wanted play, so I got my brother's guitar out of storage and ordered new strings to put on it, then broke the high e string trying to tune it. So then it was pretty much untouched until I could get a new string for it. I left it at home when I went to college. This past Christmas break I got it from home and bought the string for it, lugged it up to my room, I haven't even strung it yet, and it has been over 3 months now. So, slow progress due to lack of motivation, but progress nonetheless, right? That is at least what i am telling myself. I just want to learn it while I am by myself, which is never, because my roommate is always here and my mom is always around at home. emo
Maybe you doing what you have always wanted will help motivate me, though 3nodding

When I was a kid, I wanted to learn some form of martial art (karate or taekwondo). My parents didn't want me involved with violence, so they wouldn't allow me to learn any. Perhaps I'll look into it someday...
