Name: Hydaelyn

Nickname: Heidi but he hates it, Hyda

Age: Appears to be adolescent

Race: Summoner

Grade: 11

Position: Uke

Abilities: Summoning -
A summoner has the ability to borrow elements from nature and form them into beings of great power. Once done however the element is used up and can not be returned. To summon a creature takes time to cast and it leaves the summoner vulnerable to attacks which is dangerous because even though the summoner wields strong magic their body is physically frail. After summoning a summoner needs time to regain their strength, should a summoner risk summoning again too soon it would be dangerous too their health or even their life. There is a summon for every element that exist within nature according to the laws of the ancient ones. Each have their own abilities and rules. Some can be devastating and indiscriminant in their destruction but those of that caliber normally only attack once and then are forced to flee. Others can stay out for the entire length of a battle, but some are only support and can not attack at all.

Summon List:

Water Summon- Leviathan
This is a long, thin snake-like dragon who controls the power of water. It looks similar to a Japanese dragon.
Attack: Tsunami
Leviathan storms through the field with a powerful wall of water flooding the area. Leviathan is forced to to vanish afterwords. Hydaelyn refuses to use Leviathan in most cases because it would cause death to innocent people and he cannot control who the creature attacks.
Name Reference: Leviathan the sea monster was mention in Plato's writes as the creature that guarded the gate to Atlantis. There is also reference to a creature by the same name in the Christian Bible.

Wind Summon- Garuda
A winged creature, most often resembling a bird, but sometimes with an insectoid look.
Attack: Aerial Blast
Garuda is able to stay on the field during battle since she is one of the fiercest of summons. Her claws are sharp and she is able to launch her feathers at her opponents like missiles. Her wings can launch forth gusts of winds to push back opponents but her most powerful attack is Aerial Blast. This attack is most common to a sonic boom. It is a pocket of compressed air that explodes from Garuda with a loud bang pushing everything away with tremendous force. Once used however Garuda is forced to flee. Hydaelyn is always nervous about using Garuda because the creature gets far too much delight out of fighting and as it is the very wind itself it is hard to control.
Name Reference: The Garuda is a large mythical bird or bird-like creature that appears in both Hindu and Buddhist mythology. Garuda is the mount (vahana) of the Lord Vishnu. Garuda is known as the eternal sworn enemy of the Nāga.

Fire Summon- Ifrit
This fire demon acts as Shiva's foil.
Attack: Hellfire
Ifrit bursts form the ground and expels a massive fire ball from his throat at the opponent. The resulting heat from the flame can melt iron and the flesh off of bone. The fire ball has a solid core and will continue to barrel through walls unless otherwise stopped. Ifrit is forced to leave immediately after summoning whether successful or not. Hydaelyn most commonly uses Ifrit when angry.

Earth Summon- Titan
He looks like a giant man with white eyes and a loincloth. He shakes the ground or lifts it above the enemies' heads to crush them. As with most earth attacks, it does not affect flying enemies. He's usually stronger than Ifrit, Quetzalcaotl, or Shiva.
Attack: Earthen Fury
Titan stomps the ground creating tumults before a giant shock wave pulses through the field tearing up the ground into large chunks that can crush or block paths. Hydaelyn prefers to use Titan as a defensive summon.
Name Reference: A primeval race of deities in Greek mythology.

Non-Elemental Summon- Bahamut
The black-scaled King of Dragons is nearly always one of the most powerful summons.
Attack: Megaflare
Bahamut expels a series of energy missiles from his mouth after appearing from the sky. The missiles fall to earth like a rain of fire that can devastate a city or bury a building until it is nothing but ash. It is for this reason Hydaelyn refuses to use Bahamut even though he is his strongest summon.
Name Referense: A vast fish that supports the earth in Arabian mythology. Although since this comes from a japanese game the reason that Bahamut is portrayed as a dragon has to do with their own folklore. The Japanese have a story of a carp that swam up a waterfall and became a dragon. So if this world fish swam up and became a dragon it would become the god of dragons in which the dragon known as Bahamut is described in the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons guide.

Sound Summon- Siren
Siren is a beautiful blond woman, who plays a harp and causes silence.
Attack: Silent Voice
Siren is expelled from the summoner's mouth and forms from their own voice. Siren stays out for the duration of a song. During that time Siren is able to use a variety of abilities through the summoner. Siren can temporarily steal the voice of an opponent as well as send out sound waves from the summoner that can push opponents with great force. On rare occasion Siren's song has even been able to control the week minded. Hydaelyn prefers to use Siren and find her most useful and the least destructive. He also finds her good for recreational activities as she can create her own music.
Name Reference: In Greek mythology, the Sirens were dangerous yet beautiful creatures, portrayed as femme fatales who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island.

Lightning Summon- Quetzalcoatl
This featureless bird casts thunder-based damage.
Attack: Thunder Storm
Quetzalcoatl raises from a thunder strike and an electric spark like storm erupts from his 'beak' spreading sporadically over the field that is impossible to aim with. It will leave once it's attack is finished. Hydaelyn doesn't like Quetzalcoatl's inaccuracy but it's less likely to hit bystanders then the other wide spread attackers.
Name Reference: Quetzalcoatl is a Mesoamerican deity whose name comes from the Nahuatl language and means "feathered serpent".

Ice Summon- Shiva
The ice-based summoned creature takes the form of a beautiful frost-woman, adorned with jewels and costuming.
Attack: Diamond Dust
She freezes the entire battle arena and shatters it, causing ice shards to fly everywhere. The resulting damage is a combination of being frozen in ice and being pierced by razor sharp shards if you are not fast enough to avoid them. Shiva is forced to flee when her attack is finished. Shiva's attack is quick and hard to avoid and is over just as quickly.
Name Reference: Shiva is a popular Hindu deity and considered as the Supreme God within Shaivism, one of the three most influential denominations in Hinduism. Even though the game shows Shiva as female the lore states that the god can appear in female form.

Gravity Summon- Atomos
Its physical characteristics consist of little else but a large gaping mouth or portal which sucks the enemy in and does gravity-based damage.
Attack: Worm Hole
Atomos is a towering mouth that sucks in opponents and crushes them with the gravity inside it's maw. Alternatively it can force the gravity outside it's mouth and crush the ground near it. It flees after attacking.
Name Reference: This is Greek for "cannot be divided" (it's where the word "atom" comes from).

Holy Summon- Alexander
A giant mechanical tank, looking similar to a castle, with four cylinders that act as support structures.
Attack: Holy Judgement
Alexander is a defensive summon and will act as a wall protecting the summoner. He will remain until he has taken too much damage or until he has used his attack. Holy judgement sends a beam of holy light straight forward like a rail shot, piercing everything in it's path. Alexander is one of Hydaelyn's favorites although finding the holy element in which to summon him is difficult.
Name Reference: Might have been named either for the Russian czar of the 1800s or the Macedonian conqueror of the 4th century BC. Czar Alexander was a member of a group called the "Holy Alliance", which fits nicely. Alternatively, Alexander might be named after King Alexander Tycoon from FF5. The word itself is Greek for "defender of man". Alexander the Great is the most likely, as this Alexander is a mythological figure.

Death Summon- Zalera
Mithuna Ascendant. Heretic scion who wrapped the world in dark energies, seeking to take the souls of all living things to himself. Created in opposition to Emet-Selch, Angel of Truth, and scion of light. Originally tasks with the judging of men upon their deaths, his soul was tainted by the curses of those who raged against the heavens, and seizing one of the gods' servants, a shamaness, as a hostage, he rebelled against his creators. Even now, in defeat, he clutches the shamaness to him in his right arm, and with the aid of her death-wail does he summon the soul of darkness to do his bidding.
Attack: Condemnation
Zalera warps the enemy to another world, and opens his right arm to reveal the shamaness who screams, calling a storm of dark clouds from which souls pour out and create a storm of twisters. If the enemy hears the shamaness' wail their life will slowly be drained. The only way to avoid their death after this point is to defeat the summon or to render the summoner unconscious. This is another summon Hydaelyn refuses to use and finds it immoral.
Name Reference: An anagram for Azrael, the Jewish angel of death. Azrael means "God's help" or "God's helper".

It has the ability to cast protect on all allies which shield them from physical damage until a limit is reached. It can also cast haste which makes all allies attack and move faster although does not aid in fleeing. Carbuncle can also cast reflect or Ruby Light which causes all magic that is cast on allies to be reflected back on the caster. He can also use Healing Ruby which can heal small wounds. Carbuncle is Hydaelyn's companion and he will sometimes summon him just to keep him company.
Name Reference: This creature was alleged to be seen in Latin America. Legends say the Carbuncle has some sort of jewel on its head.

Dark Summon- Fenrir
Fenrir appears in the form of a shadow wolf ten times the size of a normal one.
Attack: Howling Moon
Fenrir stays out for the duration of a battle or until his final attack is used. Fenrir has sharp claws and a fearsome bite. His large body accounts for strong muscles and his movements are fast. Fenrir can blind a target if eye contact is made and it's bite can paralyze. In Fenrir's final attack, Howling Moon, Fenrir howl's upward and a moon appears above it's head should it be light or not. A wave of energy is sent out at all targets and damage is dealt if cover is not taken. Those sensitive to the darkness element will be even more so injured by the attack. Hydaelyn finds the use of Fenrir strategic but the creature tends to be a little frightening to look at.
Name Reference: In Norse Mythology, Fenrir is a monsterous wolf and son of the god Loki. The dwarves gave the gods a magical rope which they used to chain Fenrir up in Asgard.

Life Summon- Phoenix
A bird composed of fire.
Attack: Rebirth Flame
If a summoner takes a piece of their life energy or someone elses they can summon Phoenix. Phoenix has the ability to bring back a person from the brink of death. This will greatly weaken the summoner or the person from which the energy is taken. The more people that is healed or brought back the more energy is sacrificed to the point where the summoner or person can give up their own life to summon Phoenix.
Name Reference: The "Phoenix" is a mythological fiery bird that rose from the ashes of death every 500 years.

Special features: Hydaelyn can sing with and without the help of Siren. Although he looks young his eyes appear to be much older and his words sometimes show more wisdom then his years.

Personality: More often then not, Hydaelyn is very sophisticated and proper. He tends to behave and stay quite. Although every now and again he will forget himself and have bouts of immaturity. He also tends to act a little immature if you ask him about his age like he's pretending he's younger than he is. He often gives advise even if you don't ask for it and tends to be a bit motherly towards those he cares for.

Crush: N/A

Bio: Hydaelyn is from a race known as Summoners. They look like humans but are very recognizable by their very unique horns on their for head. Although Hydaelyn's reason for not having one is unknown but he seems to be touchy on the subject. The race is a very old one and they live a long time. They tend to not interact with other races, merely observe. But Hydaelyn decided for his own reasons that he didn't not want to sit back and watch any longer.
"I am the conduit of the planet. Through my body I use the elements to call forth creatures to protect it. It it the duty of my people."
Hydaelyn is actually as old as the planet. He can remember the first plant on the earth as well as the first war. His race died out long ago and being the last one he decided there was no need for him to stay alone and honor the old traditions so he removed his own horn so that he may blend in and live with the others of this world. Hydaelyn has a very old way of thinking and a very deep bond with the planet. He believes in perserving life, more specifically the life of the planet. Even if that means removing the humans from it. (i.e. if their pollution begins to choke the planet he will do something)
