Hello peps! I have been working behind the scenes to create a sort of template for a battle system that uses the Gaia dice! Granted I did steal most of it from another guild that I am a part of. So because I don't want to get kicked out of that particular guild by its leader I am going to cite who created the original, ( mine is roughly 80% or higher the same). The original was created by Raven Rahl, the guild leader of Once Upon A Time.... A Multi-RP Experience.

Below this will be the battle system, please use it if you like. Granted I may still fiddle with it after its posted. You know for different variables, but I will start with the base, which will be basically the same from the original. But I will add onto it as time goes on.

Bottom line, I am not done with it. But I am going to post it anyway. Why, well I am not sure. Just so that it is up and so people can send me ideas for different variables. Then they can help me with the horrible process of testing!

BATTLE SYSTEM


Class: Base

Level 1:

weak (4-sided) 1=miss, 2-4=hit 10HP damage
medium( 8-sided) 1-4=miss, 5-8=hit 20HP damage
strong( 12-sided) 1-9=miss, 10-12=hit 35HP damage

CLASSES


Base:

The base class for everyone! Its basically level 1 to level 3

(no special stats)

Defender:

A standard class that goes along the same lines as a tank in most MMO's

(All damage received is cut in half. If attack done to you is not even, divide by two and round up to the nearest whole number.)

Mage:

No need for fancy words, but basically the spell caster type, ranged combatant

(Has large area affect spells that can hit more than one person. Has to role a extra die for every person that the spell is supposed to affect. specify which person that you are going to attack, then in that order is the order that the dice affects the characters in chronological order starting left to right.)

Berserker:

A fierce fighter that is lightly armored but hits like a truck, a big one. Like an eighteen wheeler.

(All attacks are double. But all damage are multiplied by two. So basically 2x. "x" being the base attack.)

RULES AND NOTES


Rules:

1. This is turn based combat, so it is against the rules to attack twice.
-Exceptions: when the other person doesn't post within 24 hours or
your character has a ability that defies the rule

2. No deleting your post so that you can role again. Don't be that guy

3. When battling, you need to show your health, level, and class.


Notes:

-Everyone's health at level 1 starts at 100, whenever a character gains a level, they gain a 10 extra health. So if a character is level 5 they should have, 150 HP (hit points).

-I am working on a alternative to the class system to combat style system that would allow all characters to be "masters of all." but only be limited by the role-player. Meaning that the character can switch between combat styles instead of just picking one class.

-I am looking for suggestions, feedback, and testers. Feel free to send me a pm and talk to me. Making this by myself is fine, but its much more fun to do things in a group.

The Abridged Version

After a realization, I reconized that I have enough data to create an abridged version that is ready for use right out the gate. Its super easy! It doesn't have any leveling system what so ever, and everyone has the same health. The only difference is how much damage an attack can do. Plus three different fighting styles!

Health:
100
(health cannot go above 100)

Combat Styles:

High style: +5 attack and -1 initiative

Balanced style: +2 attack and +1 initiative

Low Style: Has a +2 initiative. Basically meaning that every time you roll the dice, you add 2 to the total. So lets say you roll a 8 sided die and you roll a 4. That 4 then goes up to a 6. So it increases your chance to attack.

(You can change combat styles during combat; however, you cannot attack in the post where you are changing combat styles. So choose one that you will use for the entirety of the battle)

Damage and dice:

weak (6-sided) 1-2=miss, 3-6=hit 10HP damage
medium( 8-sided) 1-4=miss, 5-8=hit 15HP damage
strong( 12-sided) 1-9=miss, 10-12=hit 20HP damage

Healing:

Everyone heals by 15HP for every post that they make while outside of combat. (exceptions can be made for those that aren't super active inside the rp or have been away for a few days or more.)

Side notes:

In this abridged edition, everyone is about on the same level. So its good for all combat; however, it will start feeling under powered in some situations like in back to back combat. So be sure to keep some +1 healing potions handy.

Also, weapons are cosmetic and don't add anything else to the actual experience. The same goes for armor. Since this is the abridged edition, those will not be even considered unless there is demand. Otherwise, this is it. If you have questions, then ask way.
