The Mothers Club - a safe haven for mothers, mothers-to-be and foals.

Being a mother isn’t always that easy.

Sometimes birth is difficult and full of pain. Sometimes you’re just new and scared. Sometimes all you want is a safe place to have your children. Peep knows how hard it can be and has made it her mission to be there for any mother in need.

The Mothers Club live in an area known as The Den. It is prime real estate; a large area of land, covered in grassy meadows, languid fresh water streams, fruit trees and sheltered copses. Be you heavy with child or already with little shadows at your heels, you are welcome.

Anyone else will face the Watchers. These guardians constantly stalk the perimeter of the tribe area, challenging anyone who dares come close. No predator dares cross them, for they are unflinching in their dedication to the tribe.

who are we?

As the name suggests, The Mothers Club caters to mothers. Its primary purpose is to support females about to give birth in an IC capacity. You are welcome to claim to have given birth at The Den or for adults, welcome to claim you grew up there.

This will not be an overtly active tribe. Full tribe meetings are rare and tribe members are kept on a roster so the area is never completely full of kin. Every member will have their job to do and they will be expected to fulfill it, but Peep is flexible and is you want to leave for an extended time, she will allow it with a smile.

how do we work?

Mothers; of all kinds are welcomed. If you are pregnant or already have a brood tagging along behind you, the Den is your place of rest. Females are welcome to choose the area as their nesting ground, knowing full well it is guarded constantly and no predator dares cross into Mothers Club territory. You will be given your own space and given the privilege to come and go as you please, if you choose to stay. There is also the options of giving birth and then leaving. There's no judgement. One of the tribe Mothers will care for your clutch until they are old enough to travel on their own.

Foals; have a special place in the tribe heart. The tribe happily takes in any strays, or should a female choose the The Den area to have her clutch without sticking around, sacs and then babies will be cared for exclusively by a 'Mother'. In the case of multiple clutches and not enough room, Peep will contact The Swamp Scouts for help. Their allied tribe will also direct pregnant does to the club and any foal old enough to walk is given the choice to join The Scouts.

Fathers; are of course welcome too. Though unless they choose to be the primary carer of a clutch located in The Den, they are expected to help with gathering food for the tribe while their partner is caring for the children.

Legendaries; are a big part of the baby process in the swamp and Peep has come to know a couple of them quite well, one of which is an official member of the tribe. So if you're looking for a blessing and don't know where to start, The Mothers Club is probably a good place to stop by.

our roles

Mothers: try not to get confused, while the tribe caters to mothers, it is the Mothers within the tribe that are the backbone of the operation. They are responable for taking care of the pregnant mothers and watching over any youngsters currently living in The Den. They will often be put on exclusive 'sac duty' in the case of a clutch being left in the Mothers Club area. The role is not exclusive to females.

Watchers: these are the stalwart protectors of the Mothers Club. They constantly patrol the boundaries, deterring any predator or kin that is not welcome. While Peep does not like violence, she understands that sometimes it is a necessary factor to keeping others safe. The Watchers will talk first, but if you want to get to The Den and don't have a good enough reason to be there, you either walk away or they will take you down.

Providers: good food; strong babies! It is generally discouraged to eat the greenery or hunt the animals living around The Den (unless you are a foal and in that case you can go for it). Peep wants to keep the area healthy and so by necessity, the Providers are the tribe gatherers, leaving daily in search of food and returning with as much as they can carry.

[Mother] Peep
- The others sometimes refer to her as Den Mother or First Mother, but always just shakes her head and smiles. She is the kindhearted creator of the tribe and is usually involved in decisions in one way or the other.

-Peep's daughter. A loving girl who takes nothing from her father and everything from her mother... or does she?
[Mother] Whistle

- Shy and timid, Timorous might scare easily but she's easy to approach and kind. She loves nothing more than helping and will make sure foals, and then everyone else, is okay to the best of her abilities.
[Mother] Lambhearted
-A total Mama's boy who has come to completely embrace his destiny of childcare.

[Mother/Watcher] Fierce Love
- Mother and sometimes Watcher, Fierce Love is is an older Kiokote that is enjoying her twilight years. That doesn't make her any less a capable fighter and nurturer. While often gruff, her love is unconditional.

[Mother/Watcher] Quiet Moon
- A three-time mother, she tries her hardest to convey whatever minimal experience she has gotten through her clutches. She may be small, but she's a strong warrior at heart.

[Mother/Provider] Shadelight
- While she may be an overbearing and meddlesome mother, Shadelight genuinely enjoys raising foals. Don't take this as a sign she's settled down, though: the only reason she signed up as a Provider was to maintain her slinky figure.
[Mother/Provider] Vanish with the Wind
-Gentle as a lamb and very playful. Does not mind picking up tasks that others are falling behind on. ]
[Mother/Provider] Daybreak's Melody
- Tender-hearted with an upbeat outlook, Daybreak's Melody does what she can to bring the new day to everyone.
[Mother/Provider] Go To Sleep
- This typical totoma is stoic with a soft spot for babies that manifests in a very perfunctory manner: she tells them to go to sleep.
[Mother/Provider] Dream Song
- as gentle and sweet as they come. Dream Song sees others as they are and accepts them readily.

[Watcher] Lionhearted
- Peep's daughter and a Totoma doe still searching for a name. Loud and boisterous, she is often more Acha than anything else but she is purely a Totoma in her dedication to her task and family.
[Watcher] Learns by Listening

[Provider] Basic Instinct
- A no-nonsense doe with little to say, she does her best to keep the small tribe fed. She usually arrives at dawn or dusk.
[Provider] Rupture
- Sharp tongued, but generally reserved (at least in comparison to her more expressive grandmother), Rupture loves the freedom of being a Provider and the security of having a tribe to come home to.
[Provider] Stillborn

As mentioned before, I want to encourage people claiming a tie to the tribe, so that Peep know she's been doing a good job! If you want to claim you were born or gave birth at The Den, please fill out the following forms and drop them in the thread. The anything else refers to any information you might want the tribe to have; plot ideas, how they were as a child, their relationships and feelings for the tribe/tribe members, etc. Claiming you are born or gave birth in the tribe does not mean you are a tribe member. You are however, welcome to apply for that as well!

Note: Obviously it wouldn't make sense to have current kin saying they were born at The Den when it wasn't even created yet, so only kin born/created after I officially open this tribe thread are able to make the claim. Sorry!

Peep, Legendary and founder of The Mother’s Club, has birthed her last clutch.

The identity of their father is a mystery, she simply returned from her travels rounded by her pregnancy, a soft smile on her face and the certainty that this would be the last children she would carry.



The amazing Amorpheous coloured this amazing clutch and one of them could be yours!



I’m going to keep this very simple. It’s just a naming contest.
That’s it! No other hoops to jump through or promises to keep. Just a name, and I hope a fondness for Peep! These kids are very close to my heart and I’m so excited to gift one away!

The other kid names are tentatively Ahead, Blink, Exist and Marked.
(There's kind of a one word naming theme and while you don't have to stick to it, I would probably be more inclined towards short names!)
