Haddi had been soaring high in the clouds, enjoying a good game of chase with a friendly bird of prey, when he heard a ruckus down below. Now, he often was distracted by the doings of the mortals below... so much so that he'd agreed to join that celebration pride just recently! They seemed like good fun, and he was glad to be involved. Even so, usually what reached his ears when he was flying was laughter, or shouting, or some other random bit of life. What he heard below was... cheering?
He folded his wings, abandoning the bird to the wind currents. He dropped below the cloud level like a stone, then spread his wings dramatically and swirled around the gathered crowd below. Peering intently, it didn't take long to realize what was going on. A GAME! Excited, he swooped down to the outside of the gathered spectators and galloped up to the front lines like a gleeful cub, nevermind that he kinda dwarfed most of them. He really wasn't all that big, for a god, but he certainly gave off an air of being more than the average lion. And then there were his wings, of course.
Clueless to the startled looks he might be drawing, or any other reaction to his presence, he eagerly watched the shell get kicked back and forth, dove after, and generally batted around. He danced in place, wings flipping and fluttering over his back. Ooooh, that looked like fun! Still, he knew better than to dive uninvited into an on-going game. Instead, he continued to watch avidly, noting the apparent rules and aim, and wondering what the scoring was like.

The wild dog stepped up to the line again, and Iqhawe squared his shoulders. He knew he didn't have much energy left for this kind of thing - normally in a game there'd be a substitute, but not here. It was just shot after shot after shot, and the last few had been quite hard to defend. Still, he couldn't give up! Maybe this time he'd make the save and impress the female.
The shot came rocketing at him again, and he was once again too slow to even try to stop it. He dove but completely missed, the shell rolling out of the net as he flopped to the ground. He groaned and rolled over to his back, staring up at the sky in defeat. Dang it...
He finally got up and gave the wild dog a determined smile. "Maybe next time I'll beat you...thanks for the lesson!" He shook his head out and headed out of the goal, moving to the sidelines where...whoa, wait. What was that? He stared at the large lion with wings of all things, jaw dropping a bit in surprise.
"Whoa!"
Iqhawe's Stats: Adol - OS 1, EN 0, DS 1
Depawsit Good job, a goal AND you took out the goalie!
Taji didn't miss the arrival of the god, but he had some business to see to first. He moved to the center of the field and waved a paw for the attention of those playing. "Well done, well done! You've defeated one goalie. There's one more to go, and if you take care of her as quickly as you did my son, perhaps you'll get to take a few shots on me," he said with a little grin. "We'll see how she does!"
That said, he moved off the field and walked over to the new arrival, a friendly but curious smile on his face. "Greetings, brother. I'm not sure I've seen you before...I'm Taji, one of the Overseers of the Kwa Kikombe. Might I know your name?"
Sea moved to the field to take the place of goalie as the young lion walked off. She wasn't used to being in the defensive position, especially being in goal, but hey...Taji had called upon her to help, so she wouldn't say no. Plus, it never hurt to test your skills in other areas. There may be a day when she had to step up and play in the net, after all.
She scuffed the dirt in front of the net to fill in the little paw holes Iqhawe had left behind before squaring her shoulders and looking forward, ready for the first opponent. She hoped if her mother attempted to score she'd be able to defend her...that would be pretty embarrassing if she were kicked out by the one who trained her.

Sea turned her attention to her first opponent, and lowered her head as her mother's teachings ran through her mind. Leopards were naturally high in stamina, but their other skills were only average unless they worked very hard. Seeing as this leopard was a rouge, she doubted he had any special training, so they should be evenly matched. Had she been on the offensive she'd have blown a lot of the creatures attempting to play out of the water, thanks to her hard training, but today she was on defense...and that was her weak point.
The shot was made but Sea read where it was going and moved in front of the shell to stop it. She batted it away easily, taking it as a pass rather than a shot, and it spun away with considerable speed. It slid to a stop close to the pile of shells that were waiting to be used by other players. Not a bad hit and she could have completely stopped the shell rather than just batting it away, but she was still warming up. "Nice try!" she called out, a little smile on her face. Sea never wanted to discourage a new player from trying, so she was always full of compliments.
Sea's Stats: OS 3, EN 5, DS 1
AstoriaFallen Almost! To determine how many dice you roll, you look at your OS number. Holo's is a 1, so you roll 1 die only smile Since you rolled two I used the first number that came up, even though they were both 1 XD So now what you do, since Sea defended the shot, is take one point away from your EN, so instead of 6 Holo now has 5. You can keep playing until your EN hits 0, so if you'd like to roll again, just remember to use one die =D

Sea trotted back to the center of the goal as the leopard lined up another shot. This time he seemed more confident. It was always that first attempt that was nerve-wracking. She'd been in that same spot herself not too long ago, standing before a goalie without any experience on her side. Of course, the goalie had been one of her siblings, but still!
This shot had incredible power behind it, and with power came speed. Sea was pretty quick on her toes, but usually her movements consisted of running with the shell and batting int around rather than jumping in front of it to stop it. Her reaction was a bit off, and the shell went right between her legs as she moved to try to defend it.
Embarrassed but trying to make light of the situation, Sea laughed as she retrieved the shell and batted it away. "There you go...got the hang of it now," she said lightly, even as her ears drooped. Oh boy...this was definitely not her position.

Rowehn watched the young lion leave and took note of his cheerful defeat. So he was a good sport, that was always a good sign. She made a mental note to try and approach him and his father after the games. Taji was easy to approach, but she wondered how she would fare with his son. That wasn't the issue at the moment though! The current issue was of her daughter! A mischievous grin curled around her lips and she let out a yelp of glee as she watched her trounce onto the field. This was going to be fun! She tried to be patient, waiting with eager paws for the others before her to take their turn, but she could feel herself twitching with excitement each time the line moved even an inch forward. Oh yes! So much fun! Finally, it was time for her to face off against her daughter. The mentor versus the pupil. Who would win? Well! That was up to her daughter now, wasn't it? Rearing back her paw once more, she lost all expression in her face. Complete poker face. Then she let forth her paw and kicked it to the left once more, but only so much as to give it a light spin, before it would curve to the right. She wondered whether her daughter would catch on. When Aka stepped up to take his paw at the little game, Sea smiled. She knew this position was far from her strong point, but she certainly wanted to play against the cheeton and hey, if she had to be in the goal, that was fine! She just knew it would be more fair if she were taking shots with him on a trained goalie. Ah well...next time they'd have a better stand-off.
As it was, Aka's shot was incredible. She read it all wrong and thought it was coming in much faster than it was, diving to the wrong side as it zipped past her. She looked at the cheeton with an appreciative gaze, impressed by his talent. "Nice shot!" she called out, tail wagging even though she had missed pretty badly. "That spin threw me way off. Thought it was coming in with some heat on it."
She batted the shell out, ready to take on another opponent. Maybe this time she'd actually stop one...she felt like she had gotten lucky with the first attempt. Beginners luck or something like that.

The wild dog was glad to see the leopard back for another shot. She loved when new members or even passing rouges started to play Kikombe. She had grown up with it so it was in her blood, but to see an adult try it and find they enjoyed it was something that always made her feel warm inside. Sharing the love of the game was a part of the pride. Being welcoming, friendly, and supportive were traits a lot of the members shared.
Lowering herself a bit closer to the ground, she watched Holo line up his shot. He didn't have the finesse of a player, but he did seem to have a natural talent for smacking the shell her way. This time she did read his shot properly and she jumped to stand in front of the shell, but her paw was just a bit too slow. She did get a piece of the shell and sent it sideways, but it bumped against the goal post and slid into the net.
"Ah! So close!" she said, stamping one hind foot on the ground in frustration at herself. She could have had that if she had just been a little faster! After this she'd definitely have to go train a bit in defense. "Nice shot!"
Sea's Stats: OS 3, EN 3, DS 1
AstoriaFallen There's ways to raise your stats, but it's not in-game. It would be if your SoA were in the pride and RP'd a training session. Then their stat would be raised, as is the case with Sea. Normally Wild Dogs have 2 for their OS, but I RP'd a training RP to gain an OS stat, so she's got 3. In-game you can only lose EN stats, never any other stat. You regain your EN when your player takes a break, but that's not an option in this little mini-game, only in a full-blown Kikombe game :3 Also, nice goal!

Sea shook herself off from the close call and stared ahead at the next player...oh no. Her mother. She sighed softly but gave Rowehn a warm smile, tail wagging just a bit. Her mother had groomed her to play offense, and she was pretty darn good at it if she did say so herself, but she had to be a well-rounded player if their team wanted to do well in the games. She lowered her head, ears against her skull, and waited for the kick.
The stand off didn't last long as the older wild dog sent the shell spinning towards her. She knew the move, thankfully...it was one she had perfected herself! But Rowehn didn't put quite as much spin on it as Sea herself did, so she ended up over-anticipating the break. Catching her mistake, she nearly tripped over her paws trying to correct herself, but it was too late. The shell slipped past her paws and she gave little bark.
"Ugh! Nice trick shot, mom," she called out, batting the shell away from the net and back to the line. "Still got a few tricks to pull out when you need them."

Rowehn barked back at her daughter in excitement, trotting around in a circle in a celebratory dance. She probably shouldn't have done that, and it was very unsportsman like. But she hadn't done it out of spite! Merely in excitement that she could still out do her children. It swelled her heart with a sense of pride, that only seeing Sea win could out do.
"Good job Sea, keep it up Hon!" Wagging her tail in excitement right back, she lined up at the starting line once more. Lowering her stance, she became level with the ground and inspected her territory. There were a few bumps, and even a few holes she could use to her advantage.
Perfect, now it was just about the execution.
Again she took her position and placed a paw on the shell. There was a hole to Sea's left, and a nick to her right. If she could hit the nick to the right, it would send the shell skidding the left. If she was lucky it would just miss that hole, if she was unlucky, it would slow the shell enough that Sea could easily stop it.

Sea gave a little snort of determination as her mother sized her up again. This time she'd stop it, for certain! The shot was made and Sea was ready to pounce on the shell as it came to the side. Unfortunately, it hit a dip and changed direction enough for her pounce to be misplaced. She looked behind her as the shell banged off the post and went into the net again.
"Wow...I'm really, really bad at this," she said with a weak laugh. "Geez, mom...you can't take it easy on me?" she teased as she batted the shell back. Of course she was embarrassed, but at the same time she was glad she wasn't shooting and doing and equally poor job. This was supposed to be easy, she reminded herself as she set herself up again. Taji didn't want newcomers to feel unwelcome by putting a star goalie in the net. She knew she wouldn't last much longer, though. The last few shots really had her heart pumping and her limbs were a bit wobbly with lack of energy.
