She had a shadow now... but at least she was free... Sort of... The young Pockettu entered the library, if it was silent before it was dead silent now at the appearance of what could only be a child of the God that ruled this city and all of it's inhabitants... She was followed closely by a man that was pretty enough to be a girl... She herself probably looked more masculine then he did, for bother her mother and her father were men...

Vibrant green eyes scanning the huge room, she'd give a slight nod of her head to the librarian and his mate before she'd head off into the shelves.. knowing where she was going because she'd been here so much before... And yet, she hadn't learned as much as she would like... Her companion backing off a bit as she'd slow down and start to read the titles on the books in her head, before she'd go to pluck one she hadn't seen yet from the shelf.

User ImagePorphyrios was walking out of the shrine, after making his bid to the god to join him, when he spotted a library. The bi-color haired pockettu was always looking to expand his knowledge, especially that of poisons. He wasn't going to pass up the opportunity of exploring what the God of Darkness himself had on the subject. Porphyrios walked into the library and headed the the section where most libraries keep books on poisons. He spotted a girl in the section as well, but didn't pay her much mind, looking through the titles that were in the section. He was focused on his task and didn't much care who else was there, regardless of his/her status. All that mattered was finding something new he could experiment with.

She'd nearly sigh when someone else came into the aisle that she was in... ready to fend of another one of her father's adoring fans... or someone that just wanted a piece of her because of her station. Being the daughter of a God had a lot of perks.... granted... but it also had it's drawbacks... Like you couldn't get away with ANYTHING. It was insufferable, but then, she had no choice but to suffer through it. But, something here struck her odd... This Pockettu didn't even look at her other than a passing glance, and even then there hadn't been a hint of interest in his eyes, it was just like her own... all for the books. She found herself feeling something.... strange... she couldn't quite place it, so she took her book from the shelf and went to sit at the closest table, which was the same one that he was at. She didn't ask for permission, this was her father's library after all, she could sit where she damn well pleased. Though she was getting a few odd looks here and there, Porphyrios was getting them too, as well as a few scathing looks of jealous, some of suspicion and of course, some of outright hostility... She'd open her book and start to read.. glancing at the book he had in his hands and she nearly flushed in embarrassment. She may as well be a toddler in compare to the book he was reading! Nearly wanting to crawl off and hide with her book somewhere but thinking better of it, there was an opportunity here... Someone with this level of knowledge in the very thing she wanted to become a master of?... Clearing her throat quietly, she'd whisper to the Pockettu across from her... "Impressive book... I've looked at it once, unfortunately I don't believe I will be able to understand it for years at the rate I'm going..."

Porphyrios found an empty table near by and sat down at it. He started going through the book he grabbed that looked promising. He pulled out a notebook to make notes on anything he found interesting or to investigate further. He gave a small sigh of annoyance when someone sat down at his table. It was a library for any followers of Antar to use, so anyone could sit down at the table. There weren't any rules against it, but it still bugged him. He repressed the urge to groan when the girl commented on the book he was looking through. It was a more advanced book, involving poisons that are impossible, or near impossible to detect after death. He was looking into utilizing it for weapons and possibly seeing if they can be combined with others to use for interrogations. Or if he could manipulate the effects of the poisons depending on concentrations, administration, and combinations. He looked up at her and noticed she was one of Antarmurr'ss daughters. Porphyrios took a deep breath, so that he wouldn't end up insulting her too badly (as he had been told he had a habit of), and nodded. "Maybe you should try harder and not just look at poisons because they are 'neat'." He was used to others just wanting to know how to use them for coating weapons or hurting another in the most basic of ways. They weren't really interesting in what poisons could really do, if used in different ways. It annoyed him and it has become habit to just assume whoever was asking or seemed interested were only in it for a quick fix to something. And that wouldn't change for anyone, not even his god's daughter. She's probably just like the rest of them, just with more influence. He didn't see why she would be any different than anyone else who learned of his fondness for this subject or why he should treat her all that different.

She was taken aback by his tone to her... NO ONE had ever spoken to her like that besides her father... her face heated red and her fingers curled dangerously around the edges of the book she was holding... glaring at him in unabashed scorn... "I don't know exactly who you think you are..." she'd hiss, "but the only one I let talk to me in that tone is my father. And how -dare- you make a mockery of me and my fascination with poisons and all their applications!..." she'd leap to her feet suddenly, glaring down at him... Thoroughly pissed off, "I'll have you know I have been studying, but since this war I've had no one that shared the same interest in them that I do... so, excuse me, for trying to strike up a conversation with someone that obviously knows a hell of a lot more than I do!..." Turning on her heel, book tucked under her arm, she was about to charge out of the library and for all he knew, straight to her father.

Porphyrios raised an eyebrow at the girl's reaction. He wasn't expecting such an outburst, but it's nothing he hasn't had before. "I was not making a mockery of you." He said in his normal voice. There was no point in yelling or being argumentative when others get this way. Why waste the energy? "If you do, in fact, have a fascination with poisons like I do, then you will understand why I reacted the way I did. You would know the kinds of pockettu who will come to discuss them that only show enough interest until they find out what they want. They have no true interest in the topic. I have no patience or desire to give such pockettu any of my intention or knowledge of the subject," He explained. "What reason or evidence did I have to believe that you were any different than those pockettu?" Porphyrios honestly didn't care if she went to her father about this. It was how he was and he wasn't going to treat anyone any different until given a good reason to. Just being the daughter of a god does not qualify as a good reason for him to treat her as if she were different.

She'd made it to the center of the room before she'd spin on her heel and come stalking back, the book clutched to her chest, her eyes snapping like emerald fire. "You weren't making a mockery of me? Ha!..." she'd sneer, lowering her face to his, wanting very badly to smack those smart little glasses off his face, "well, you could have fooled me!" Her voice taking on a deeper tone, mimicking his, "Maybe you should try harder and not just look at poisons because they are 'neat'..." scoffing, "if you were not mocking me then you were treating me like a dim-witted fool, trying to decide which polish would look prettiest on my poodle's claws and not a lady sitting there looking over a text for beginners!..." huffing softly...as she'd shake her head at him, he really was the dense one... "You know, I thought I lacked conversational skills due to being cloistered by you... you really take the cake!..." setting the book down beside him... pointing at the cover... "by the fact that I was reading this... and by the fact that I had tried to read that book, to understand it... and admitting that I was not advanced enough to understand the nuisances of it yet... and my obvious statement that you were more knowledgeable then I am in the subject instead of saying... oh... I don't know... 'Oh cool! Like, you could totally kill someone and get away with it couldn't you! That is so awesome, so NEAT!" she was so offended that her hands were balling into fists by this point and she was still glaring right into his face.

"I was not mocking you. I was implying that you had neither the desire nor the intent to actually learn more." He held his ground. He would not let this girl bully him or make him feel guilty about what he had done. "You are not the first to make such comments or actions to get me to help them. I have learned to not take another's apparent interest at face value." Porphyrios shrugged at the conversational skills comment. "My lack of conversation skills are because I do not see the point in partaking in mindless chatter. It is a waste of time and energy. And I don't have the tolerance for the ignorance that most possess." He wasn't too bothered by her invading his space. He knew it was an intimidation factor. The purple and black haired pockettu just sat there, with an unbothered look on his face. It was almost sad that he was used to this behavior and reactions of others.

Scooping her book back up she'd glare at him one more time, her face grim and her mouth held in a thin line... She wasn't enjoying herself...this jerk had ruined her day and it was her first day out too!... Obviously he wasn't going to listen to her and obviously he wasn't worth her time if he didn't think that she could be worth his even though it seemed that they shared the same interests. She was done with him, with his calm cutting remarks, with his cool uncaring demeanor. If he wasn't willing to give a little, she was sure as hell not about you... She'd walk away from him, not looking at him any more... but she wasn't finished here yet... She'd grab and few more books off the shelf after a quick scan through, finding another on the plants that were in the garden her father kept as well, she'd take that one too.

It wasn't that Porphyrios wasn't listening to the girl, he was just explaining his position and reasoning behind his actions. He understood that she was actually interested in the subject, and was not just using him for some petty means, but that was not what was being discussed at the moment. If it was, he would have been willing to help her learn more, as her actions has proven to him that her intentions were pure. No one gets that upset and insulted about a subject unless they really enjoy it. The others just walked away in a huff when he called them out on their lack of true interest or got enraged at the fact that he would not help them. But never had one been insulted by his lack of faith in their interest in the subject before. This is why he believed her intentions to be true. Ah, well. She is walking away now, so there is no point in further acknowledging or speaking with her.

She wasn't willing to ask for help now, not after how horribly she believed he'd treated her. She didn't know if he knew who she was or not and frankly at this moment she was too ticked off to care. He probably thought she was going to run off and tell her daddy on the mean man that wouldn't do what she wanted in the library, but no, Akor wasn't like that. That didn't mean that he wouldn't learn about it through other methods though, there were several other people about... looking shocked... frightened... disgusted... a various array of emotions on features throughout the library. But now, she was intent on getting herself away from this Pockettu as quickly as possible, before she did something stupid like...cry... or something. Clutching the books to her chest now that she had them all, she'd make her way past him again and right out of the library, unless of course someone stopped her.

Porphyrios shook his head and went back to his book. He had things to do and learn. He had wasted enough time and breath on the girl that had tried to join him. It was rarely a good idea to approach him when he's...well anytime really. He was not a social pockettu. If he cared more, he would try to change, but he doesn't. Which is why he let the other go, even though she was the first pockettu he's met that showed actual interest in poisons. C'est la vie.

She had been hoping that someone would stop her, so she could vent her frustration in any other way but tears. Even as she left the library with Triel trailing behind her, she wouldn't stop even for him by now. Making a bee line for the temple where she had fought so hard to get a bit of freedom from. Now, she was running right back to it, which was adding to her frustration because she didn't know where else to go. Her father had said the library or the market. Since the library housed a Pockettu right now that she'd like to smack a few times with her tail and she didn't feel like shopping, she just broke into a run and went straight to her room, tossing the books on her bed, she'd stand there a few moments, refusing to look at anyone as she breathed a bit raggedly, holding it back... she spun on her heel and rushed through the corridor to the one place she knew Triel wouldn't dare follow her. Straight into her father's bedroom, knowing that he wouldn't have anyone in there with him at the moment because he was trying to recover from the battles that he'd waged.. she'd close the door quietly behind her, steal across the room and crawl into his bed. Feeling very much like a little girl again she'd nestle up to her father's unconscious form and pillow her head on his shoulder, her hand resting on his arm as she'd close her eyes and let a few tears slip free... until she too, fell asleep.

Antarmur'ss laid like the dead within his chamber. Unaware of the goings on outside his inner sanctum. He slept deeply and showed no signs of being disturbed when his daughter entered. The doors opened only to her, or any of his bloodline or harem. Any others would not have been able to budge the large decorative obsidian doors. When Akor would crawl herself up against the Dark Gods side, there was no movement from him. As Akor would rest against his chest, his tail moved. A slight shift of the large thing to cause it to curl across his body so the furred tip could rest across Akor as well. The black tentacles curled like a hand over her back, though Antarmur'ss did not stir from his slumber during the time.
