Watashi wa yukigassen ga suki!

~ Name: Sadako
~ Species: Yuki Onna
~ Alliance: Nightmare
~ Personality:

It's sort of odd that Sadako awoke as a Nightmare and not a Dream, as she has a very sweet and light disposition, but fate doesn't always place the right person within the right slot. Sadako is almost always smiling or humming an upbeat little tune, a stark contrast to her dark, cold appearance. Honestly, if you hadn't known she was a nightmare before meeting her, you'd probably mistake her for a sickly looking Dream.

Sadako adores people and other sprites, and often greets them with her trademark "surprise hug" and giggle. Her love of surprising others often lands her in odd situations or, in some cases, one sided arguments. Sadako avoids any sort of negative conflict because it makes her nervous and upset. In the event she can't find an exit, she "freezes up" and curls into a defensive position. "No one can penetrate my cold shield of calmness!", is her basic reasoning for doing this.

Perhaps the most noticeable trait about Sadako is her love of playing games and adventure. While she may not be anywhere near devious in a negative way, she can certainly be impulsive when it comes to having fun. Snowball fights, climbing buildings, and hide and seek are all some of beloved "games" to play. None of the games she plays are ever for competition, either. It's all for fun and fun for all, or Sadako will curl into a ball and wait until all of you stop arguing.

Basic Traits: Playful, amiable, excitable, positive, highly adverse to negative situations and emotions.

~ Likes: Snow, snowball fights, cold weather, stalking people, rough housing, snuggling, laughing, freezing floors and ice skating on them.
~ Dislikes: Being called Yuki Onna instead of Sadako, cereal, being left alone, avoided, or left out, muggy weather, anger and fighting.

Watashi wa kyodaina kyūbu kōri ni anata o kaeru koto ga dekimasu!

~ Freezing Touch:

"The user can temporarily freeze anything she touches"

With the nifty little ability, Sadako could freeze other Sprites for short periods of time. She could also freeze wagons, food, and cause trouble for all sorts of beings for that same short period of time.

However, Sadako isn't a proponent of such chaotic ideas, and chooses to use the ability upon various flat surfaces for her ice skating pleasure. This ability has so far only been used for fun, humor and just because she can freeze the ground on which she walks. Seriously, Sadako, why not use the ability to freeze something awesome? Freezing dirt is boring! :U

Watashi wa warui yume o kaku koto ga sukide wanai...

~ Current Nightmare:

Sadako doesn't like to talk about her Dreamcasting, mostly because she doesn't like to create the most terrifying nightmares you've ever seen. She prefers the creepy, chilling stories that stick with you to the one time nightmare about your head being cut off. No, she's much more simple.

Ideas:

- Lost in the snowy mountains, all alone, foot steps are following you and no one is there.
- You are a statue that has seen lots of deaths?
- Bunnies, something with creepy bunnies

~ Hello, Somnum!:

User Image

"This jar is freezing! I can't even hold it!
Some of the sprites that have taken care of it
have said that they, sometimes, see a shadow
lurking inside the bottle, whispering words as
cold as ice itself."

If this is of any comfort, the words she was whispering were probably "I'm going to throw snow balls at your face, kekekekekekeke!" or something similar. |3

From the very beginning, Sadako had been an odd little girl, even as she swirled around in her jar. Her jar may have been frigid and near untouchable, Sadako was only trying to convey her love of the cold and snow. Her whispers? Not as malicious as they may have seemed. Snowball fights, climbing buildings and running around? Yeah, pretty innocent for a whisper, right?

All in all, once she was out of her jar, all Sadako wanted was to find playmates and meet new sprites. Trust me, once she figures out that the nursery houses all the other small sprites, you'll find her following them around all day.

Watashi wa yukion'nade wanaidesu! Watashi wa anata o kizutsukeru shitakunai!

~ Yuki Who...?:

Yuki Onna (雪女, snow woman) is a spirit or yōkai in Japanese folklore. She is a popular figure in Japanese literature, manga, and animation.
She may also go by such names as yuki-musume "snow girl", yuki-onago "snow wench", yukijorō "snow harlot", yuki anesa "snow sis'", yuki-omba "snow granny or snow nanny", yukinba "snow hag", yukifuri-baba, "snowfall hag"

Yuki-onna appears on snowy nights as a tall, beautiful woman with long black hair and blue lips. Her inhumanly pale or even transparent skin makes her blend into the snowy landscape. She sometimes wears a white kimono, but other legends describe her as nude, with only her face and hair standing out against the snow. Despite her inhuman beauty, her eyes can strike terror into mortals. She floats across the snow, leaving no footprints (in fact, some tales say she has no feet, a feature of many Japanese ghosts), and she can transform into a cloud of mist or snow if threatened.

Some legends say the Yuki-onna, being associated with winter and snowstorms, is the spirit of someone who perished in the snow. She is at the same time beautiful and serene, yet ruthless in killing unsuspecting mortals. Until the 18th century, she was almost uniformly portrayed as evil. Today, however, stories often color her as more human, emphasizing her ghost-like nature and ephemeral beauty.

In many stories, Yuki-onna appears to travelers trapped in snowstorms, and uses her icy breath to leave them as frost-coated corpses. Other legends say she leads them astray so they simply die of exposure. Other times, she manifests holding a child. When a well-intentioned soul takes the "child" from her, they are frozen in place. Parents searching for lost children are particularly susceptible to this tactic. Other legends make Yuki-onna much more aggressive. In these stories, she often invades homes, blowing in the door with a gust of wind to kill residents in their sleep (some legends require her to be invited inside first).

What Yuki-onna is after varies from tale to tale. Sometimes she is simply satisfied to see a victim die. Other times, she is more vampiric, draining her victims' blood or "life force." She occasionally takes on a succubus-like manner, preying on weak-willed men to drain or freeze them through sex or a kiss.

Like the snow and winter weather she represents, Yuki-onna has a softer side. She sometimes lets would-be victims go for various reasons. In one popular Yuki-onna legend, for example, she sets a young boy free because of his beauty and age. She makes him promise never to speak of her, but later in life, he tells the story to his wife who reveals herself to be the snow woman. She reviles him for breaking his promise, but spares him again, this time out of concern for their children (but if he dares mistreat their children, she will return with no mercy. Luckily for him, he is a loving father). In some versions, she chose not to kill him because he told her, which she did not treat as a broken promise (technically, Yuki-Onna herself is not a human, and thus did not count). In a similar legend, Yuki-onna melts away once her husband discovers her true nature. However, she departs to the afterlife afterward the same way.

~ Sadako's Feelings about being a Yuki Onna:

Surprisingly, Sadako views Yuki Onna as a malicious, devious woman, and doesn't like to be associated with her. If anyone calls her Yuki Onna by mistake, she's instantly offended. She may be born with all her looks and powers, but Sadako is a good girl with a love for life and fun! She doesn't want to hurt anyone! (Unless it's through nightmares, then okay. But outside of that, she doesn't want to cause trouble)
