The more I think about it, the less I believe that distant galaxies are as far away as we would think they are. How do we measure distances in space, and more to point, would such measurements be accurate?

Vectors and decades worth of observations would be my first guess. Also: It's probably more of an estimate than an actual measurement.

You don't have to touch it to believe it.

I think they use radiowaves or some form of far-reaching wave energy and compare with standard models and extrapolate. Then, there is Hubble for closer stuff.

Pretty sure you mean astronomy. Astrology has to do with the Zodiac.

Yeah, I was about to say what Jenni said. Astrology is to astronomy as religion is to science.

Foam-Dome Yeah, I was about to say what Jenni said. Astrology is to astronomy as religion is to science. Not really much of a religion, there's no gods....unless you want to worship your sign or native planet. ALL HAIL THE SCALES! THE ZENITH OF THE YEAR! MAY FUTURE YEARS BE FAIR! Or something like that.

What if you worship gravity? ..... Honestly, gods are only fun in fiction.

That reminds me of a theory I had once. It goes that we are ourselves, a work of fiction inside of a book that is inside of another book in a infinite web of books inside books that loops in on itself as books that exist elsewhere in the web in lower or higher planes of it.

There don't need to be gods. The comparison still holds true. A person who believes in astrology is still living their life with a belief in a set of guidelines that doesn't have any scientific significance.

Worship my sign... Should I worship Scorpio (western zodiac), or the Ox (eastern zodiac)? Perhaps I'll meet in the middle: All hail the Scorpiox! The big carnivore ox; with horns, natural armour, a poisonous tail and pincers!

A person who believes in astrology is still living their life with a belief in a set of guidelines that doesn't have any scientific significance. I think of it more in this way. Astrology is like a basic template you are given. Of course you're not going to be exactly like what your signs (There's more than just a sun sign which is often something most people don't realize.) say, but that's more due to your environment. Like, there's quite a few things that my chart has me pegged on. Other things though it use to but I grew past that. In the end, Astrology is more stating what you have in your deck to begin with, how your deck turns out though is up to you and the events around you that you grow around.
