What was she doing out here? It wasn't like her to go off out of her comfortable dwellings, but when she awoke a few hours prior, something was humming inside her, telling her to go out and do something with the day. But what?
Lorraine had stopped her little exploration when her sudden adventurous streak had went as fast as it had come on. So now she was seen walking along on her own on the beach front, the loose sand giving away under her purple hooves. She had been quite unsure of her destination and was continuing to question what had possessed her to come here. Of course the lovely scenery was a contributing factor, and the salty air that surrounded her. Perhaps this had been what she was needing. A little bit of an outing to get her blood flowing and to set her worries at ease. At least for a little while.
Well as long as she was here, she may as well enjoy it. A soft sigh escaped her as she made her way down closer to the tide and picked a nice bit of warm, sunny sand to lay down in.
After a good while of listening to the sea birds call at each other and the waves lap at the shore, she found herself becoming quite relaxed, and with that her eyes began to droop heavily. Soon enough her vibrant green eyes were hidden behind soft purple lids as she found herself drifting off into an afternoon nap.

User ImageRavi made his way slowly across the sands, his gaze first peering upwards and then trailing across the seemingly empty ocean horizon and the expansive beach-line. He felt so terribly alone, exposed on the beach with only the seagulls for company. He was used to someone- anyone- being around.
Someone with likes and dislikes, someone with subtle facial expressions or outright commands to hint at their preferred behavior, someone who could benefit from the company of another. Someone who needed someone like him, who would listen to their desires and try to give them exactly what they wanted- as much as he was able, that is. There were some things he couldn't do, like be their flying partner or share a carnivorous meal with them. But, aside from his physical limitations, he could put on the air of absolutely any personality type that 'someone' might find preferable.

Seemingly so very alone... he didn't know what to do with himself. He had never considered the question of 'What does Ravi want himself to be?' From a young age, his focus had been on the wishes and desires of others. He liked the sun, and there was something soothing about the waves. But... what did he want from himself? He couldn't even fathom a guess...
While his mind wandered, his violet eyes continued their fretful search. What did... he... want?

He stopped as his gaze fell upon a soft purple form laying across the sand. Someone?
He breathed a sigh of relief, spared from his inner turmoil by the presence of another once more, but made his way forward hesitantly. She seemed to be enjoying the peaceful day all on her own, and he was not confident that he could do anything to add to her pleasure. But, then, what good was he if he could not improve the world- or at least improve their perception of it- for those around him?
As he got closer, her relaxation became ever more apparent. He began to drag his hooves lightly in the sand, hoping to alert her to his presence if she was still conscious, but not wanting to speak for fear of waking her from a wonderful dream. In dreams, entirely new beings could be created from nothing- but those creations faded away with the dreamer's return to reality. Ravi, as far as he knew, would not fade away... he could offer the mare what she wanted in the waking realm, if... if she needed him around.

An ear twitched, sand shuffled, and the soft purple mare pulled a confused face, and cracked open an eye, slowly becoming more aware of the hooffalls and realizing she was no longer alone on the beach. Wind blew at her mane, tickling her neck, and she decided that before the other thought she was some hapless creature, she should get up. On her way to her hooves she took a moment to stretch a few muscles and shake the sand from her coat and mane before turning to greet the approaching soquili.

Lorraine's bright eyes landed on the vibrantly marked stallion and she found herself looking appreciatively. She blushed rather well, red flushed her purple cheeks, and she hoped he thought perhaps she only blushed because she'd been sleeping. What on earth had come over her? Sleeping on the beach? Looking at this stallion like she'd never seen one before? She was acting positively juvenile. And she was far from juvenile, HA she was a great grandmother! The sudden reminder was a big enough kick in the ribs to bring her back to earth and out of her ever rambling head.

She took a nice calming breath, trying to get a grip on her emotions, and gave the stallion a warming smile, thinking he must find her behavior extremely odd. She looked about curiously before turning her attention back, and inclined her head. "I apologize, my name is Lorraine...am I intruding on your beach?" She didn't think she was, there had been no traces of one calming this are as theirs, but then, the salt water was a good hinderance on those sorts of things.

Ravi watched as the mare stretched and got to her hooves. The wind seemed to tease her mane, and he took a moment to admire her soft color palette. Though her complexion was more suited to a flower than any item he had before seen upon the sandy shores, her presence did not distract from the beauty of the landscape around her- rather, the presence of both seemed harmonious and the restrained charm of each somehow enhanced that of the other.
He could see the beauty in all things- perhaps that was why he sought so eagerly to please even the at-first-glance unsavory types- but he felt as though that silent admiration had flowed effortlessly from him... an observation of a simple truth, rather than an stretch of imagination on his part.

Ever observant, he noticed the slight shift of color in her cheeks even from a distance. His ears flickered once, as he began assessing her actions and trying to figure out exactly what she might desire. Demeanor, greetings, even personality- he could shift it all, her own personal chameleon for as long as she was around.
As she looked around, he felt somewhat apprehensive. He had encountered mares before who were uncomfortable with stallions- any stallions- and in that moment before she spoke he worried that she might only wish him to leave... he did not want to go, not unless that was truly her wish, and not just because he had finally found today's 'someone.'
Before his thought could fully finish- before he had a reason to accompany his desire not to leave- she spoke, and apologized for.... ah. Oh, dear. No.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Lorraine." he said comfortably; it was quite hard to go wrong with that opening, and he found that, this time in particular, it was true. "I have no claim to this beach, and I did not wish to intrude upon your peaceful moment." Well, that wasn't quite true, he had wished very much to intrude but he had hoped that his intrusion would be welcome. "Ravi, I am called." He usually used his own name, even if he changed everything about himself from one encounter to the next.
He waited patiently, trying to gauge her innermost desires from the subtlest of physical clues. He could take cues from words as well, but he often found that others revealed much more in their body language than they would ever say aloud.

Lorraine smiled openly to Ravi, now having learned his name and realizing she was not intruding, she felt quite comfortable. She swished her tail and chuckled. "No intrusions here! Just a meeting between...new friends?" Another blush tinted her cheeks and she looked a him bashfully. "Its quite a pleasure to meet you Ravi and would really enjoy your company. That is, of course, if you don't have much else to do?"

Ravi felt himself return her easy smile, noticing how she seemed to relax and feeling quite at ease now that he knew he was not longer the source of her discomfort. Watching her tail swish for a few moments, his gaze returned to her own as she began to speak.
A meeting between... new friends? Oh, yes, that could be arranged. He was good at being a friend, and if that was what she wanted from him he would be more than happy to oblige. He was hoping for just such an opportunity... something about this mare, he... liked.
It was more than her pretty coat or quiet demeanor, she seemed... warm, loving. Kind. And he felt himself drawn to that aspect of her personality.
He would be a good friend for her- comforting, supporting, a good listener and an excellent companion. Those things came easily to him, traits that seemed somehow more familiar than other personalities he had temporarily adopted over the years. Perhaps she might like a little charm- or was he confusing his own desires with those of the mare?
Did he... even have his own opinions?

So wrapped up was he in preparing himself to be the best friend one could ask for that he missed her little blush- perhaps she might have been glad for the privacy. He blinked away his thoughts, and smiled back.
"I am at your disposal." he dipped his head low- in what could almost be called a bow- his eyes twinkling merrily now that he knew exactly what to do.

Lorraine grinned at his almost-bow and bit slightly at her lower lip. Her earlier rantings at herself had been pushed to the back of her mind as she spent the next moments with Ravi. Why shouldn't she feel good about meeting this stallion? She was tired of her lonely state, watching her babies grow and have their families left a hole in her heart that at this particular moment didn't feel as big, Lorraine had a sneaking suspicion it was this rather charming stallion who had her feeling excited and she wasn't about to scoff at the chance of...well what ever this was. Her vivid green eyes brightened and she looked between Ravi and the long stretch of beach before them, deciding to pluck up the courage and give this what she had.

"Would you like to walk with me? Its a beautiful day and setting. It would be sad not to share it with someone and you seem like the perfect candidate." Lorri grinned with newfound excitement over the way her day was going, this was definitely going to be a day she could put on the top of her 'best days ever' list....if she had one.

The stallion nodded, feeling his aching muscles longing to stretch once more. A nice walk would do his body good- and with the present company, he would enjoy it for reasons other than the purely physical.
"A walk would be most welcome." He could have just as easily accepted the offer in a manner that made it clear he was only doing it to please her, but in all honesty he would enjoy a walk- and that was what made good friendships, was it not? Shared interests and desires?
As was often the case in his past, he assumed that their easy camaraderie would eventually turn to him doing things that were outside the realm of his familiar routine- if only to please her. But, this... this was easy, simple, and he felt entirely at ease.... now that he had someone- a very special someone- to please.

Perfect. Not hardly. But, yes, he could be Perfect for her. If only she shared with him what she desired...
