A nod was all that passed from Ardent to Gable, his way of recognizing what had been said as he passed the Muvukol and made his way towards the lionesses. His vibrant eyes were looking straight at Alamea, his peripheral vision still holding Pele as well. These two were now his prey, all else around him was white noise unless he found a use for it.

"Nothing." He sighed as he stood in front of Alamea, a stoic look on his face as he regarded her, taking account any imperfection that might cause her to be a hindrance to the pride. Nothing seemed special he deemed and moved on to Pele, mother of the crybaby.

Circling around her, a smile curled across his face. "Want stop?" His brows rose high in delight of the shoddy attempt at speaking the Nergui language. Green eyes practically glowing with excitement as he stared at her. "Do you want it to stop? Shall I end it?" His tone mocking as he sheathed and unsheathed his claws, using both common and Nergui language to confuse Pele.

Then suddenly his face fell as he looked at Los, speaking lazily, "Perhaps killing the daughter would be best..." Biting his lower lip he paused, eyes steady on Los, willing him to stay steady. He wasn't ordering Los, no, he was baiting Pele.

"Unless... Perhaps we can separate the two." Ardent was now speaking to Gable. "What a better way to punish family members than to separate them without death." Nodding towards Pele he grinned. "I can take her, we the shuko can watch and make use of her body and mind too. Or kill her if she gets out of line."

Despite the fact that Adeyemi was the sibling visibly on edge, it was Adanna who flinched- nearly jumping out- when Byu was suddenly attacked. If Pele and Alamea had not been the topic of another dangerous conversation, she might not have stopped herself- and that realization was alarming. But she didn't get any time to appreciate it, she decidedly looked away from attack on Byu and focused on the exchange between Pele, Alamea, and the Nergui.. though her eyes were on their feet.

Her insides twisted with rage and defeat, hearing their apparent submission and the wicked plan Ardent proposed.

Adeyemi, confused and barely hearing or understanding any of the words, was completely focused on Oxotl and Byu- even missing Adanna's flinch. Ardent switching languages was enough to draw his attention but it was only making him more confused, unable to fully focus on or ignore anything anybody was saying. Not knowing what to do, he looked towards Lua and then to Nebo. They were useless, all of them- himself included. There was nothing for him to do but stand there and wait for it to stop.

Hearing Ardent speak so nonchalantly of murdering this lionesses' daughter had Gever wondering if anyone remembered why they'd been gathered here. Every drop of Byu's blood that besmirched the earth was one more reason for him to suspect this had dissolved into nothing more than a playground for unruly, bored predators looking for a reason to keep their claws out. He had only respect for the Nergui as a collective whole, wanted nothing more than to see the world flourish under their reign, but when its individual lions got riled up they were often too depraved for his tastes. Nevermind the hyenas. Los' cackling made his lip curl back in something akin to contempt.

Gever did not -- could not -- sympathize with the plight of these slaves, torn from their homes and suffocated by beliefs that were not their own. To him, the Nergui way was the true way. He did, however, pity their misguided ways and the harsh treatment they were subjected to for being foolish enough to stand by them. He swept past Alamea and murmured to her in the common tongue, "I will help your mother, but I cannot help you both," though she may not have heard him or comprehended his intentions if she had.

Soon he stood with his back to the line of captives and spoke to both Gable and Ardent. "A heavy paw like Ardent's is better suited to the daughter. You should let me see to the mother. She is stupid, not defiant." Gever had all the time in the world to be patient with Pele. He doubted Ardent even knew the meaning of the word.

There was no sympathy to be found in Gable's eyes as he listened to Alamea's request. No answer was given to her. Pele's attempt at the Nergui tongue did appease him enough those near him would hear a grunt on the brink of agreeable. He praised her with one word: "Good." Yet he did nothing to quell Ardent's harassment or influence his decision in a way that would be favorable to their captives. On the contrary, the Muvukol nodded to everything he said.

Gable appeared genuinely surprised to see Gever step forward. "No," he replied when the green lion had said his peace. A swift, firm response that promised any further debate would be met with just as much resistance. "Ardent's word is the word you will follow. But I will give you, Gever, six days and six nights to convert this daughter. Since you're feeling so helpful."

At last he paid mind to Byu, turning to see him bloodied and beaten. "And who wants to convert this one? I'll give you six days and six nights." he called into the crowd.

If no one spoke up soon, there would be nothing left to convert.

OOC NOTES::

>>> At the time of this post, the line-up is as follows:

Adanna -- Lua -- Adeyemi -- Nebo -- Alamea

>>> Ardent has decided Pele should be under the watchful eyes of the shuko and Gable has agreed. Gever has attempted to have her follow him in specific to no avail, instead being appointed as Alamea's keeper. Some characters may want to voice complaints / protests / suggestions on this matter.

>>> Byu is still being harmed and Gable has asked for a volunteer to convert him within the week. It's fairly obvious that anyone who steps up for this task and fails may be punished with drudge work, where as their success will likely mean a good word to the higher ups of the pride Gable reports to.

>>> Same as before, please be courteous and allow everyone a chance to post.

>>> If it weren't already obvious, anything in italics is the Nergui language.

>>> Gable's next post will be on July 5th unless we're still waiting on posts at that point, in which case it will be extended accordingly.

Los' eyes locked on to the lion that spoke to him, his claws digging into the dirt as he found traction. One more word, one slight movement and he'd be off on his new mission. Killing...he had yet been order to do just that, but he wouldn't put it past these lions ask him of that. And, as his duty, he obeyed the lions without question.

But the call came to leave the lioness be, and he relaxed just a bit. Swinging his head to Gable, his ears turned forward at the challenge. Convert that lion to see their ways were true? He was nothing but a ball of fear and cowardice, he couldn't see the lion truly agreeing with anything they thought. He didn't want to sentence himself to death as well, so he remained silent. That, and although he was a part of the pride, there were those lions that thought lesser of hyenas. His voice wouldn't be appreciated in this situation, so he remained silent.

OOC Note:: Extended until July 12th. After this, the RP will continue whether or not everyone has posted. This may or may not be the closing post, as a side note for those who want to (and have yet to) get 5 posts so it qualifies for a breeding RP.

She looked at Gever, giving the lion a bit a smile. Any help was a good thing... Her ears suddenly shot up, jaw dropping and eyes widening. Progress in their situation or not, they were being separated! She listened to the words of the lions, processing the ones before Gever's, sorrow creeping in. Her mother... Used... She didn't want to think about it, her imagination running wild far too much.

Her attention suddenly turned to her side as the weight of the brown lion left her, and she felt a cold spot where he'd been. "Ah!" She knew she'd be hit for it, but Alamea couldn't help jumping away in surprise.

He couldn't stand anymore. It wasn't his poor physical state, already rather scrawny when the Nergui had found him and only exacerbated by the lifestyle of a slave, but the vision that had passed over. He lay prone on the ground for a moment, before struggling to push himself up - Hopefully before someone came and hit him. "Somebody take that kid already before he's KILLED!" All visions of the future had the potential to change - Few were exact, after all. But this was one that was so close to possibly happening, the force and anger of it left the lion physically weakened and emotionally volatile.

Pele didn't know quite what was going on - Something about her and her daughter, splitting... And then the brown lion had collapsed and she had no idea he'd been able to speak the language... Then again, he didn't seem to speak much, and she hadn't been around him ALL the time... Of course, he was a seer, their minds worked funny. She licked her lips, not sure what to do as she glanced at the one referred to as Gever, and then at the one who'd spoken before Gever.

His blood boiled. The idea of another from his own pride taking defense to the slaves and even disagreeing with his ideas disgusted him. They had no idea what was going on in his head nor had they the training he had himself to understand what he was doing. To simply block the way was an insult both to his intelligence and pride.

Hiding the snarl that begged to surface, Ardent turned his attention to Gable and soaked in all that was said. He would be given the mother to convert after all. A task most fitting for himself he did believe. Plus, the shuko were in need of others that could possibly think or react quickly. Even better, he could use her daughter as a incentive to converting and becoming one with the pride. He wasn't a monster after all, just an opportunist.

"I shall not fail."

Green eyes darted back towards Pele, glancing passed the spasm mess that Nebo was currently in before speaking to her. "You will be coming with me. I see promise in you." His tone was commanding and stern. He wanted to say more, but not within earshot of the rest of the group, after all secrets needed to be unwound in privacy.

"And to you, Gever. We shall talk at a later time." Perhaps his voice was a bit hostile, however business came first in the world of the shuko. He'd much rather make sure his work went smoothly than deal with a constant irritant.

If it was not by her own primal need to stain his white coat red, then it was by the roar of their audience for which she struck him down. Byu's efforts to comply had been thwarted. In the end, it had all been for not.

She gave no rest in her assault. A well placed blow to the shoulder crippled his left forelimb, sent him tumbling to the side, while the scatter of open wounds played upon him like artful crosshatching. She was an artist who made good use of her canvas.

"Sssss--" Byu hissed, eyes open just enough to see through Oxotl's swarm of tooth and nail. The fuss that had been made by one of his own, a fellow slave, went unheard; though the words Byu so desperately attempted to speak were enough to convince otherwise. No one would ever, truly appreciate a lion's snarl until it deafened the ears. "St-stop!"

Common tongue, as the Nergui would call it, but one would not need to understand it to pick apart the meaning. Byu used what little strength he had left to muster courage. Or a shadow of it, in any case. No one would come to save him, and even if he knew just what Gable had offered the crowd-- he still would have opted to take this very same route.

"Please. Whatever...y-you want."

By Nergui standards, Gever could be docile. He didn't strike Alamea for getting out of line. He didn't roughly haul Nebo to his paws for his outburst. The most tractable Nergui was often still five times as tetchy as your average lion, though. Gever bared the tips of his teeth at Ardent. How dare he speak down to him as if they were not of equal rank.

It was not by coincidence he turned to Gable afterward and said, "I'll take Byu too."

PostPosted: Mon Jul 15, 2013 3:26 pm
Nebo's wailing distracted Gable just long enough to take in his haggard condition. All signs pointed to one thing: seer vision. He was not as well-versed in their ways as some members of the horde, but he had seen enough of this... twitching business to have his suspicions. A finding he would report to Rapha for certain.

He had already given Ardent a nod of approval. This sudden tension between the shuko was not lost on him. Gable looked to make sure Byu was still alive before he granted Gever custody of him. "Oxotl, stop now. Good work." Looking to Gever he said, "Come collect your convert then."

"The rest of you return to your work." Gable said this twice, once in Common, once in his native tongue, so that all could understand it. A dreadful headache was creeping up on him. He turned and left, walking away to leave any further chaos in the paws of the crowd.

OOC NOTES::

>>> At the time of this post, the line-up is as follows:

Adanna -- Lua -- Adeyemi -- Nebo

Alamea has jumped out of line.

>>> The following characters are now officially assigned to each other ICly:

Ardent (Zingling) to convert Pele (Andranis)
Gever (Hopefolly) to convert Alamea (Andranis) and Byu (Shia bean)

The Nergui have six days and six nights. These will not be in real time as it's entirely unrealistic to expect people to finish such RP(s) in a day. You may go about this anyway you like, such as doing an RP for each day, doing an RP where all six days or included, or even just deciding amongst yourself OOC what happens. In any case, please do report back to me (via PM or IM is fine!) ASAP with your plans so I know what's going on.

After six days and six nights, consequences/rewards will be had for the Nergui depending on what happened in their individual situations. Gable will be returning to find out what's going on ICly after six days / nights, possibly with (Kaelyndra's) Rapha in tow. Again, this can be RPed out or just discussed OOCly.

>>> The Muvukol will not ICly stop walking unless someone physically gets in his way. Feel free to do so or have them say something to him (which will be acknowledged); otherwise, this is his / my last post.

>>> On a similar note, you may continue to post / do wrap-up posts, but the RP is more or less now closed. Thanks for participating, everyone!

>>> Because of the above, posting order is no longer necessary. Post when / as many times as need be if you're trying to get post count up for breeding, make reactionary posts, or what have you.

Los watched the lions speak to one another, his ears forward to catch any orders that were given to him. None came, though, as everyone seemed to be growing bored with the proceedings. Everyone that wasn't a slave, that is. The lion he led forward was finally spoken for, and Los let his tail give a little wag. Good. Killing was only important when lions couldn't be saved. This slave had potential to become one of them and to wear his scars proudly, marking his conversion.

The hyena bobbed his head in recognition of the order before heading away from the bloodied dirt, snarling softly at the few slaves that remained in line. He left the group behind with his tail swaying in a relaxed state. The smell of blood always got him riled up and now he needed to go find an outlet for his energy.

[Last post for Los! Thanks for the ORP X3]

Slowly, his whole body still quivering, Nebo pushed himself up. He stumbled sideways, nearly falling again, but kept his footing for the most part. Finally... Someone had taken the poor beaten kid as their ward. He panted, closing his eyes, only wanting to sleep, but he knew it wouldn't be permitted. Not yet, not until evening. He'd have to make do with being sluggish.

The dark lioness walked toward Gever, giving her mother a sympathetic look. "Just do as he says, and try to work on your language skills..." When she reached Gever, she looked him in the eye, a touch of her defiance still there. "I'm ready, when do we begin?"

Pele glanced at Ardent, cringing just a bit. What was she getting into? She worried, even as her daughter gave her a reassuring look, that she'd lose her last cub. Not to Alamea dying, but either to Pele herself dying, or Alamea being absorbed by the Nergui. Her daughter's fluency in the language scared her a bit, to say the least, as it made for an easier conversion. A lot of her pride sapped from her, Pele turned to Ardent. "Ready... Go..."

OOC: Last post from these three heart And the underline... Is supposed to be the Hongshan language xd ;

Adanna was watching Alamea with such intensity, she had to gasp for air when it suddenly became painfully obvious that she had stopped breathing. Alamea was making the decision to survive, to keep her mother alive. She didn't have to like the route she had chosen but Adanna recognized it as the primary viable option. It was why she had been so quiet and submissive, at least as far as accepting her role as slave. But now it was just her and Adeyemi left, they were the only Hongshan.

Her gaze went to Pele and then past Lua to Adeyemi.

Just do as he says.

The only words Adeyemi understood in the whole situation and they only confirmed what he was picking up from the tone, body language and actions of the others through the chaos and confusion. The Hongshan were done here. He glanced over to Adanna but long before her gaze went to him.

He looked over at Nebo and, despite the strong urge to lean away, he leaned in to offer him support as he attempted to steady himself on his feet again.

It was out of character for Adeyemi to be so helpful, even stuck in this situation he had continued whatever petty rivalry existed with his sisters.. even without Amara here and while they were trapped by a violent enemy. It was apparent even without them being singled out that they were affected by this display. Perhaps it was time to give up on the Hongshan, it was just them now.

She cleared her throat quietly, trying to catch his attention.

His ear flicked back and his eyes went over to Adanna. They couldn't speak, there was another slave between them and the whole pride around them.. and the very idea of non-verbal communication with his sister was so surprising, Adeyemi had no chance of understanding anything from here. But the look in her eye was unmistakeably different.

He didn't know what he was agreeing to but he gave a small, barely noticeable nod and looked forward again.

As soon as she caught his eye, Adanna looked away again. They were already being too obvious, even though it all happened very quickly. The Nergui were not stupid, though Adeyemi may not have noticed, distracted by his own ignorance and refusal to learn anything about them. Her mind was racing now, though, even as she stared straight ahead and waited to be instructed of where to go next.

A little slower to break remove his gaze from Adanna once they caught each other's eye, Adeyemi practically turned his whole body. He did not stand ready to be guided away, his eyes went to the Muvukol and he watched him leave while he waited for whatever happened now.

OOC: Final posts for Adanna and Adeyemi. Feel free to have noticed anything suspicious, they certainly were not hiding it.
