HISTORY
Gabriel, along with his twin brother Guillerdumont, were born to a minor noble family Burgundy. His father Godfrey was a knight who served in the first crusade and his mother was the cousin of Eleanor de Aquitaine, one of the wealthiest and most influential women of the 12th century. Since his adolescence he had dedicated his life to his God and his king. When King Richard the Lionheart marched on Jerusalem in 1189 Gabriel squired under his aging father. The young man quickly made a name for himself among the ranks of the crusaders. In 1191 at the Siege of Acre, Gabriel’s courage and prowess in combat earned him his knighthood, as did his brother. His father oversaw the ceremonies but then died later that night of his injuries.

He continued to prove himself in battle after battle with his brother at his side. Their fame among the ranks even earned them the nickname of “The Twin Lions of Burgundy”. They cut a bloody swath through Saladin’s forces each of them faithfully believing that what they were doing was God’s will. Months later, King Richard I began to withdraw from the Holy Land and was later captured in 1994 and held for ransom by the Holy Roman Emperor. Gabriel wrote letters to his mother urging her to speak with the Lady Aquitaine who was quickly convinced to pay the ransom and thus King Richard was released.

During King Richard’s reconquest of Normandy, Gabriel and his brother were inducted into the King’s honor guard. In 1199, while King Richard was walking around the castle without his chainmail he was struck with a bolt from a crossbow. That night in the privacy of his tent, the surgeon whom no one had ever seen before and was later referred to as “the butcher”, carelessly removed the bolt and mangling the king’s arm in the process. The wound quickly turned gangrenous. Gabriel and his brother were ordered to guard their king at all times and they did so dutifully. On the night of April 5th, 1199, Gabriel and Guillerdumont were stationed outside the king’s door and allowing no one but the king’s mother to enter. When they heard a plate crash to the floor they believed that the king had summoned the strength to rise from his sick bed, but when they opened the doors what they faced was the devil in the guise of a man.

Gabriel recognized the man as the surgeon who had butchered the king’s arm and in a fury attacked the intruder who was hovering over the king, his mouth dripping with the king’s vitae. But this was no ordinary man and Gabriel, despite being an excellent swordsman, could never get close enough to deliver a killing stroke. Gabriel and Guillerdumont eventually cornered the creature but even with their combined might they were no match and were flung across the room. The man returned to the king’s bedside and upon finding him deceased went into frenzy. He advanced on the two brothers and Gabriel would never forget the look in the demon’s eyes as it sank its fangs into his neck. They both awoke the next night chained to a pair of trees stripped to the waist and ravenous with a hunger that was wholly alien and unfamiliar to him.

The man from the night stepped out of the shadows and revealed himself to be Renault de Fronsac, and told them that they belonged to him now and would soon learn the ways of the damned. Gabriel protested in fury, refusing to be the Devil’s servant but he had little choice in the matter. When Renault produced the body of a young English blood Gabriel was horrified to realize that he could smell her blood and that he craved it. Renault walked the girl up to Gabriel who wrapped her arms around her neck whimpering and shivering in the cold. Gabriel could not hold back as everything went red. The moment seemed to last forever as he gorged himself on her blood without even realizing what he was doing. In the end she was lying dead at his feet and Renault had produced another young maid for his brother. Gabriel watched on horrified and unable to tear his eyes away from the way his brother dug his teeth into her flesh.

Gabriel despised what he had become and hated his sire for making him that way. What he hated even more however, was how quickly his brother had taken to this new lifestyle. Guillerdumont was enthralled by his new existence and he reveled in it while Gabriel did his best to deny it. Gabriel went into hiding and severed all contact with his brother and his Sire Renault. For decades he looked for some way to be cured of this affliction but night after night he was forced to feed and to kill in order to survive. For the longest time he even contemplated suicide but knew that would only secure his place in Hell for all of eternity. As long as he remained walking among the living then there was always a chance for redemption. He could find no evidence of a cure, so in his search for redemption he instead took it upon himself to cleanse the world of others of his kind in the name of God. Hoping that if he slew the Devil’s minions God would take pity on him.

Over the next several centuries, he slaughtered dozens of other Kindred and quickly made enemies among the European vampires. During the early years of the Papal Inquisition he killed more of his time than even the servants of the Roman Catholic Church, even eventually catching up with his sire. He was able to hunt down Renault in Greece, and in the ensuing battle Gabriel was able to stake his powerful sire in the heart and then commenced to diablerize him and in doing so made himself even more powerful. Gabriel quickly earned the reputation for being the scourge of Europe as he continued to hunt other Kindred. This continued until 1450 during the early days of the Anarch Revolt and the creation of the Camarilla. The elder vampires were beginning to fear their own childer and called upon Gabriel to help quell the rebellion. While he did not side with the Camarill, he did not pass up the opportunity to rid the world of more of his brethren. But once the Anarch’s were brought to heel the Camarilla immediately turned on Gabriel and began to actively hunt him cross Europe. Their pursuit cost many vampires to meet their Final Death at his hands.

It wasn’t until the induction of the Masquerade that they stopped hunting him and at the request of the Ventrue clan leaders, folded him into their organization. Gabriel initially refused until his was approached by an ancient Nosferatu vampire by the name of Antony. Antony was able to convince Gabriel to end his ceaseless murder of their kind with promises of Golconda, a mystical state of enlightenment that promised redemption and freedom from the hunger of the Beast. Gabriel conceded and was warily brought into Camarilla society and given the title of Archon who was charged to help defend the Camarilla and the Masquerade from the savage Sabbat. All the while, he spent the next several centuries with Antony, searching for ancient clues that would help them uncover the secrets of Golconda. Their research revolved mostly around the Salubri bloodline which were all but wiped out thanks to the Tremere and their smear campaign against the already rare and dwindling bloodline. They finally caught a break when rumors of a direct descendant of Saulot, the Salubri antediluvian, began to surface around Egypt. Gabriel had to act quickly or risk the Salubri survivor to fall victim to the Tremere and the other clans of the Camarilla.

Gabriel searched all of Egypt until he finally came across a group of Setites who were holding the Salubri vampire captive while trying to force her to reveal her secrets to them. Gabriel, with the help of Antony and his childer, stormed the Setite’s underground fortress until they came to the chamber where the Salubri vampire was being held. Gabriel was captivated by her beauty and the soft glow that emanated from her form. She looked like an angel and Gabriel felt that this was the sign from god that he had been searching for all these centuries. Gabriel breaks her chains and carries her limp body out into the cool Egyptian night. Unfortunately, due to the cruel punishments enacted upon her by her Setite captors, she had fallen into torpor and was unable to be roused to wakefulness. Gabriel and Antony took it upon themselves to protect her until the night when she awoke from her supernatural slumber. They sealed her body in a stone sarcophagus and brought her back to England to be hidden away and kept safe from the other Kindred who would seek to do her harm. With the answer her longed for within his grasp but for the moment, Gabriel Embraces a young woman by the name of Madeline Stowe so that she could work with Antony to keep the Salubri safe and to guard his finances and interests until it was time to wake from his own state of torpor.

HISTORY
Avery has had everything she's ever wanted, except a child hood. Whatever she asked for she was given, usually with her parents money and from one of the household staff. Her mother didn't work, she didn't need to, and neither did Avery, her father had made it is goal in life to have a family that he never spent time with so he could make his money and enjoy his life. Why they ever bred she had no idea. But, now that she was officially old enough to be on her own even though she had been that way since she was a child, she made sure to spend his money unwisely.

Her father was a business man, he owned a lot, sold a lot, and traded a lot. The price of never getting to see him was worth it.

Growing up in the life she did made her a cynic and she loved it because she knew nothing else throughout her whole life. She was able to travel the world and did so frequently with friends that came and gone as often as she did. Avery was spoiled, selfish and greedy but to her there was no other way to be so she was going to make the most out of her short life by enjoying it to its fullest.
