(It is this reason that he has the scar on his back) Kente is almost never seen without his "Poker face" on, he never truly shows many emotions, leading some people to believe that he just doesn't have emotions when in truth he just doesn't like other people knowing how he feels although he will let a small smile slip when the time calls for it. Despite all this he gets extremely talkative and flirtatious when he's drunk and will flirt with anything that moves.

Background: When he was alive Kente worked at a small Mom & Pop store as a cashier to pay his way through collage as well as being captain of his kendo team. Then one night just as he was about to close shop a couple of armed muggers came in to rob the store. Kente had managed to wound one of them but was fatally shot and died on his way to the hospital.
When he awoke he found himself in the Rukon District where he stayed with a nice old couple. After awhile he revealed that he could control spirit energy and the old couple suggested that he enter Shin'ō Academy. When he did he excelled in swordsmanship and kido, specifically Kaidou.
Kente had then joined squad 4 due to his expertise in the art of healing and quickly rose to the rank of captain due to his skills. Many in his squad however prefer to keep him away from patients because when he starts to heal someone he gets a "serious" face and tends to frighten the patients, but he doesn't realize what he does and never understands why they rush him out. He is also and extreme lightweight when it comes to drinking, all it takes is one cup and he will be completely drunk which is why he doesn't drink.

Fighting Styles: Kente fights in classic Kendo and can is highly skilled in it. He can stay on par with even the most seasoned of captains, making his swordsmanship his best fighting trait.
When he is sparing in hand to hand he actually fights like a street brawler. He goes for quick jabs and low kicks to try and knock his opponent off their feet. He's not the best when it comes to hand to hand but he's proficient at it.
Strength: Kente is extremely strong and can lift even the largest hollows with one hand. He can easily enough out muscle people as strong as Sajine Komomura (just an example)
Speed: Kente can do the flash step like any other captain but without it he is by far the slowest of all the captains.
Intelligence: Kente's second best attribute is his high intelligence, he can almost always tell an opponent's weakness and come up with a counter strategy in minutes
Stamina: Kente has average stamina and can last a decent while in a fight but because he spends more of his time behind the front lines healing the wounded he doesn't have as high stamina as other captains.
Durability: Once again Kente can take as much damage as any other captain however once again this is slightly hindered by the fact that he doesn't fight as often. This is offseted by the fact that he can heal himself if the damage is bad enough.

Spiritual Pressure: Kente has very high spiritual pressure which he keeps hidden, much like any other captain. His Spiritual Pressure is about even with that of Shunsui Kyōraku
Swordsmanship/Accuracy/Other: Because Kente practiced kendo when he was alive he is a master swordsman. Kente also tends to fight more on the defensive so he can wear his opponents out before going all out.

Zanpakuto Name: Kinami Watashizo
Zanpakuto Type: Wind
Zanpakuto Spirit: Kinami is a small black haired girl who wears a blue dress with a pink rippon in her hair. The inner world is an extremely large, ballroom like area with a single small child's table in the middle with four chairs, two for a stuffed rabbit and teddy bear, one for Kinami, and the final one for any visitor (Kente) it is where Kinami holds her "Tea Parties."
Kinami loves it when Kente comes to "visit" so he can come and have "tea" with them. Kente and Kinami get along well and Kente tends to visit every once in while to make her happy.
Zanpakuto Sealed Description: A simple grey katana, the hilt is in the shape of a crescent moon.
Shikai: Kinami Watashizo
Incantation: "Blow like a gentle autumn breeze; Kinami Watashizo"
Appearance: A large staff with a single golden bladed ring at the top and a silver crescent blade on the bottom.
Abilities:
Kente can create hurricane strength wind, with it he can slightly manipulate the enemy's movements and the direction of the attack. He can also use this ability in conjunction with his wind blades to control where the blades hit.
Kente can create a healing wind to gently blow over comrades and heal them, this technique can heal almost all injuries however the wind can only heal wounds depending on how much Kente focuses. Because of this Kente usually doesn't use this when in the midst of battle unless he uses his wind barrier.
Kente can turn the wind into lethal blades to attack the opponent with, these blades are so sharp that they can slice through steel. However he cannot control the blades direction without using the wind.
Kente can create an wind barrier to protect himself or his comrades. This technique can be used in the heat of battle to give himself a moment of rest. This can also be used so that he can heal his comrades with his healing wind. The barrier can withstand a great deal of damage, such as an energy blast from a meno's. However this also requires alot of his focus to keep the barrier up and it also severely drains his energy depending on how powerful the blow.
Techniques: Using the wind barrier Kente will use it to block enemies attacks while using his healing wind to treat the wounded. When he is not healing he uses the barrier in tandem with his wind blades to create a lethal attack & defense combo.
Bankai
Incantation: "Create the gale of judgement; Miri Shizo"
Appearance: The staff disappears completely as he and his enemy are brought into "forest" of tree's in autumn and from there he can control the wind to do whatever he pleases, while also giving him faster flight ability's. If the forest does not appear then Kente simply gets the powers of his bankai.
Abilities: Kente can create massive tornado's in order to catch his opponent off guard and severely damage them.
Kente can use his wind to form blades around his hands to go in hand to hand if necessary. These blades can slice through solid steel like butter.
Kente also retains his previous ability's.
