Chocobo, when you come on, one of the artist cows finished one of the Medea pics you wanted.

Also, Jacior's turn. Xessus is holding his turn still due to lack of space and the fact he doesn't like running into swords.

Both Hobgoblins are still up, and the Hobgoblin on the right successfully evaded.

Balniris loads a paper cartridge into his pistol and takes another shot, aiming at the hobgoblin on the right.

Loading the cartridge into the gun, Balniris aims and pulls the trigger... But something goes wrong. A stray spark, some hairline fractures, and just poor luck that he didn't notice before, but the moment the monkey man pulls the trigger, he sees just a split second too late the little bits of wading sticking out where it shouldn't and immediately moves to drop the pistol, turning to avoid the blast.

And the blast DOES come. In fractions of a second, while Balniris is still pulling his hand out of the handle and jerking it away, the flint hits the steel, and Balniris' gun, the one he's traveled with and slept with under his pillow every night for years, explodes. Little bits of shrapnel fly out, and little bits of hot metal slivers embed themselves in his hand. They only give him minor stinging, and a quick check of fingers shows he hasn't lost any fingers (or hand-eye coordination). Far worse is the hit to his pride about the exploding firearm.

However, the moment of reflection and mourning doesn't come without consequences. The loss of his pistol was so bad, it comes at an additional cost of -2 penalty to AC for 1 round.

Oh, before I forget: Balniris took 1 damage from the explosion, post-reflex save.

Hobgoblin's turns.

The Hobgoblins look between themselves and bark some words in Goblin (Much humor that none of you, not even the guy that hates them, speaks it) before the one that was bombed fires his crossbow at the distracted Balniris, but misses by a wide margin.
The other Hobgoblin moves forward, dropping his crossbow in favor of a longsword and shield, and steps over the body of his fallen comrade. He moves cautiously, and seems to be anticipating Kel'dann's actions, rather than taking on a direct offensive.

Daedalus delays, seeing as he is stuck behind the ranger still...

Kel'Dann will step forward to engage the hobgoblin, swinging his falchion at the goblinoid. (and probably activating its readied action... *sigh*)

Balniris pulls the longbow off the corpse of the hobgoblin, grabbing an arrow as he does. He draws back and let's loose with a surprisingly fluid motion for someone that hasn't been seen using a bow before.

The hobgoblin in the back crumples down to the ground and begins bleeding out.

The last Hobgob hesitates a little, but presses the attack. Raising the shield up to block Kel'dann's view, the Hobgoblin takes a stab and pierces Kel'dann's armor. There's a strong creepy-crawly feeling inside of Kel'dann's chest, but thankfully when the Hobgoblin pulls the blade out of the ranger, there's not as much blood as Kel'dann was afraid of. Although, he does find the experience horrifically painful, and the feeling of having your organs shift inside of your body to avoid a sword makes the ranger a little queasy when he thinks about it, Kel'dann's still up on his feet.

10 damage, and Kel'dann's turn

That hurt, a lot, but Kel'Dann is able to shrug it off and bring his falchion around for another attack on the shielded Hobgoblin.

Okay, so, battle's over, as Kel'dann dispatches the last Hobgoblin with Style.

Kel'Dann will poke Daedalus for one of his bad tasting, but effective healing mixtures, then he will investigate the boxes and the area around them.

Taking ten on a perhaps unnecessary perception check for 17. (search the area for interesting stuffs)

Balniris gathers up the remnants of his pistol and sighs. "It was only a matter of time I suppose." He puts the pieces into his backpack and procedes to strip the hobgoblins of their belongings. After that's complete, he decides to check the room the hobgoblins had been in and looks through the crates

The bodies again have but 1 longsword, 1 small wooden shield, 1 set of studded leather armor, satan is your king, and shortbows with 20ish arrows each. And also a pouch with 20 silver on each dead hobgoblin.

The walls of the room are lined with tables, boxes, and barrels of all shapes. There are picks, shovels, and other tools for digging and hauling dirt.

There are weapons too, including 60 crossbow bolts, five spears, two damage suits of scale mail, three spare hafts for greataxes, and one light crossbow.

The other useful equipment in the room includes 150’ of heavy hemp rope, 2 dozen spikes, 3 small hammer, two lanterns, four flasks of lantern oil, and ten large sacks. Most of the boxes and barrels held food and are now empty. There are a few days worth of iron rations left.
