When it comes to the Vale, their home, the area it covers is surprisingly small -- and yet Bird's Eye View is often surprised by how much peace and quiet she can get all the same, how little time she spends with the other kin, outside of directing scouts toward patrol routes and snatching food from helpful caretakers.
Part of this is simply her nature: snappish and sharp-tongued, likely to put people down for the sake of putting them down, it's understandable that others would steer clear of her. They mistake her rudeness for dislike, her standoffish attitude for disinterest in their lives. Wintershadow has mentioned it, certainly, in his soft and judgement-free way -- and Wild Hunt has said it even more often, more bluntly, when she is too tired to argue with him, in those small hours before they drift off to sleep.
The message is simple: If you want kin to like you, you must make some kind of overture, and let them know you don't hate them.
So. She is trying, even if it's not how they intended. Where they meant for her to use her words, to soften her attitude, to spend nights curled in close to the rest for warmth instead of stomping the edges of their currently-quiet territory, she has decided instead on a simpler course of action.
She will simply bribe them.
It is not phrased so, of course, as she seeks each out in turn. No. She phrases it as a gift from one of the two tribe founders, something that will help them with their duties, and this is also true. For the scouts, it is mostly hunting birds, wild creatures that can help them drive off strangers and bring in game. For the caretakers, creatures that will serve as helpful companions -- or, in a pinch, as dinner.
They have all been cowed enough that, with a bit of attention from their new owners, they will stay loyal, instead of flitting away again as birds so often are wont to do.

((OOC NOTE: I did this in RP form because it's fun. If you want to reply with a little solo post of your own, you're welcome to, or even post to each other about it in little RPs. If you just want to take your bird and run, I totally sympathize with that, so don't feel bad about it!
I'm not going to gather names; instead, I'll let you guys cert these yourselves at your leisure. <3 All pets colored by Abs!))

Wild Hunt was, perhaps a little suspicious of the ‘gift’ that she brought. A prolonged –stare- and a flick of his ears, but she wasn’t the only one who could be too tired to argue. “So long, as he doesn’t try and eat wormwood.” He said after a moment, His eyes softened after a moment, flicking his tail and imagining how very useful the great bird would be in his duties if nothing else. Oath Bound perhaps would love the fiercer company.
--
Idlewild’s answer is a whisper, a soft thank you that is almost obliterated by the wind rustling the leaves. Her eyes speak a louder appreciation of the tiny wild companion with its bright gold and handsome black feathers. In her own quiet way, she is quiet taken with ‘bird in hand’, and feels the tiny songbird an appropriate gift, because for all her brashness, the beautiful bold founder makes idle wild’s heart, sometimes, flutter the same way. Not though, that she would ever say so aloud.

Even Wintershadow wasn't really convinced by this overture, but he accepted it for what it was: Bird had tried. And (behind Bird's back, while she wasn't looking) he'd shaken his head and made friends with his crane. It would be interesting to see how the other kin responded to such a thing. Maybe he would recruit Heartstone and Honey Trap to test the waters ..
Heartstone looked at him quizzically and then shook her head, flicking her heavy hair out of her face. "You don't think it'll work?"
Shadow shrugged. "I'm just not sure if this is the right way to go about it. Instead of--"
"--she's bribing us," Honey Trap said, with a smile. She was very much like her mother; it was often just as wise to consult Trap about things as it was Wood Spider. "If it's the most she's going to do, let her. At least she did it."
This made Shadow's expression go a bit exasperated; he finally gave in a moment later, huffing a quiet sigh. "I'm glad I asked you two, and not Chase. He took his eagle and ran."
"And is that surprising?" drawls Trap, which earns her a reproachful look from Heartstone. Ends-the-Chase is, after all, her half-brother.
---
Shadow is left confounded -- but such is his nature that it will never show. Instead, he throws himself into his duties, and for some time the Vale is swimming in foodstuffs...

Breath's (Undertone) expression was a pleasantly surprised one, eyeing the delicately earth crane that was given to her by Bird. Though almost immediately she started to inspect the animal, frowning as she did her examination. The bird ruffled its wings at her, looking at her just as intently. Elegant, clean, and had a certain charm to it. She nodded at the bird and nodded a thanks to the head of the elder doe. Still rather unsure of what this gift was exactly for but --- she approved of it. And with a turn of hooves and a motion for the bird to follow her, she moved away from the others immediately, disliking when other kin were too close to her, and in any case she had to see if this new companion was useful to her. Besides, she had more work to do in the area.
-
Take the Sky was much more eager and thankful than the other doe, walking around the white and bright blue-coloured crane with a smile on her lips. "Thank you." And though she wasn't used to this kind of kindness from the doe, she appreciated it fully.

Tiptoe was tending to a neat row of seeds that he had sowed, next to a small group of little sprouts when Bird found him. He had dipped his head, a little elegant bow, at the approaching head scout. He accepts the tall crane without a word, studying Bird with steady eyes. He is not naturally suspicious and holds no ill will against the clan head, but even he can see that the gift is not quite what she says it is. None the less, he is grateful and he nudges the crane forward, causing it to step on one of the seeds lying on the ground and push it in. Another nudge and then another and soon the crane is stepping on it's own, planting the seeds that Tiptoe had laid down. Seeing the work being done with delicate feet, Tiptoe nods and finally speaks, quiet, but strong, "Thank you."

"Ah," Slip had said, dirty from rooting around for goods to share with the Tribe, "he will be very helpful in searching. Thank you." And she, mostly oblivious to any sense of what Bird's intent had been, simply returned to work, asking the crane at her side to search the tree boughs where she could not.
--
Faith had looked pleasantly surprised. She wasn't the most social creature, aware of Bird's demeanor by word of mouth, but because of it, she also lacked a judgmental reaction over the entire situation. At the very least, her new companion would be a great aid in keeping her garden clear of pests and scavengers. "I am grateful -- we will work harder," was all she said with a bow of her head, trotting off with a happy sway of her tail to resume her duties. Having company always put her in a good mood; it seemed her days would be full of high spirits.
