"I think the armor is a fine idea, assuming that looks attractive. She will have guards of course; I am not about to risk her safety."

Kolo then said. "I heard about that. Her being born too early."

"The healer told us that she would grow out of it, most likely before she was a year old."

Kon then said. "I hope she can be able to learn to fight sometime even if it's only for self-defense"

"We will see in time; Shi'me may not even want to fight."

"True. She also may not want to be a fashion freak either."  

[Duchess Marie]

She looked at him, "yes, that may be so. However, certain expectations will be made of any Shimmer princess. She will learn to fill her place in the village."

"Will she learn that or be forced to?"  

[Duchess Marie]

"She must attend lessons, all Shimmer children do. Your village does not teach the young how to contribute to their people?"

"They only learn what they need to know. Anything else they learn is their choice. We don't force them to learn to wield a sword unless they want to."  

[Duchess Marie]

"Then it is agreed, Shi'me will not be forced to learn the sword," she smiled.

"And....."  

[Duchess Marie]

D'lin acted coy, like she was getting away with something. "There are standards that she must adhere to as our daughter. Everything else is up to her."

Kolo then said "Depends on what your standards are."

D'lin looked at him, "you are not even her father. Should you not be putting this energy into your own child?"
