I know the guild sounds confusing, but once you start it will all come naturally and you'll find it's tons of fun! What is this guild? How does it work?

Angel Eclipse is a unique fantasy role playing guild. The reason it's unique is because the guild is one big, connected universe. The universe is open for you to do as you please. You can create your own stories here.
There are two planets in this universe that you can bring your characters to role play in, Mythanos and Verspya. You can choose which planet to place your character on to begin with. You can go from place to place as you please, interacting with other characters as you go. I'll get more into entering and traveling the world later on.
Basically the guild is one huge universe where you create your own characters and go on adventures with them.
Everyone's also really friendly here so in between role playing you can stay and chat with the other members!

The guild will periodically have contests or events. All sorts of contests will be held to win prizes so be sure to look out for them! Events on the other hand are big festivities, parties or guild-wide happenings. They're in the role playing world for your character to choose to attend or ignore. Events are not mandatory to go to with your characters, but you can go if you want to because they're fun! Events can be anything from a ball at Deralo Castle to a Harvest Festival at Tower Town. So keep your eyes out for them!

Time to start your adventure!

You'll need at least one character to role play in the guild. To create a character, head to the Profiles subforum. Inside the subforum, you'll notice a bunch of threads named things like "`Smarties Character Thread" or "Originalusername123's Army of Characters". These are other member's character threads. You'll need to make your own character thread to post your characters. You can name your character thread whatever you want.
Once you have a thread, you can make your character profiles. Include whatever information you wish for them. You can have as many characters as you want.

If you're still lost on what to do, just look at other people's threads to see what they did!

gaia_star If you want to just jump into role playing with someone else or multiple people, head over to the "Find an RP buddy or group" thread and look for anyone else looking for someone. If no one's looking, post that you're looking for someone.

Ready to walk the world?

Once you have your character, you can now enter the world and role play. You have options of where you can start your character. There are two planets as mentioned earlier. They're known as Verspya and Mythanos. They're in the same universe, not two separate dimensions.
The planets are two in two different subforums at the top.


Inside the subforums you'll find many theads. These threads are locations or as we like to call them "maps".



Your characters can travel from map to map as they please. You may enter a map where another group or couple of characters already are role playing in. You can continue to do your own thing or you can choose to interact with the other characters.
To exit a location and go to a new one you'd declare it in out of character in brackets.
Example:

John kept walking down the path to until he reached the edge of the forest.
[Exits to Lake Alencia]
or
(John leaves to Deralo City)

You can say it anyway you like, just as long as you declare you're leaving the location. When entering a new map, you don't have to declare anything if you don't want to. Just walking in to a new area is fine.

To switch between planets, head to the map that says Planetary Crossroads in brackets (see above image for an example of this). There they'll be a portal that will take you to the Mythanos or Verspya. This is the only way to travel to the other planet. Your character cannot teleport on their own to the other planet.

gaia_star If you're interesting in creating your own map, submit your idea in the map idea sticky! Once a crew member has approved your map, you can post it in the planet.

Participate in guild-wide story events!

Aside from your characters following their own plots and adventures, you have the option to join in guild-wide storylines. A storyline is when a main villain (or villains) tries to achieve doom or some sort of evil goal. Or at least that's how they usually play out. It's when there is a huge plot starts to play out. A storyline's plot can cause events throughout the whole world.
Your characters can choose to join in or ignore these events. They can range from huge wars to total destruction and certain death.

Basically a storyline is a plot on a large scale that anyone can join in on at any time. They're a lot of fun and have interesting events.
Storylines aren't always going on in the guild, but once one storyline finishes, you can expect another one soon!

All the other random facts about Angel Eclipse

Whenever you want to speak to someone else ooc, just use brackets in your post or go to the "Talking while you Rp" thread located in both worlds.

Your character may unfortunately die upon their journey in the universe. If you want to kill off one of your characters, that's fine (also pretty mean!). There are no special requirements for killing off a character, but you could announce it in ooc if you like. It kind of adds to the whole severity of the death. Ex: (Death of John)

If you're already an active role player in the guild and you're role playing with other people, it's usually polite to tell them if you're going to absent for any period of time. This isn't needed for like short, short term things (like going to be off for a day), but stuff like going on vacation for two weeks or not being able to get on for two months or going on hiatus. Just announce it in the "Absence Posts" thread telling everyone that you're leaving.
