Finally! She reached the orange wild dog and ducked down close to her, eager to be with a familiar species. She wasn’t comfortable with cats in the best of times, but with so many in one place, and all of them geared up to on a monster hunt. Lani shivered, and shook her head to clear her thoughts. Her tail remained tucked between her legs, though. Even pared up with another dog, she couldn’t shake her fright.
“I wasn’t expecting to see anyone out here when I started my morning hunting. This is chaos,” she wrinkled her nose,” But at least something is being done about the… thing in the woods.” She wasn’t too eager to speak up with so many strangers around, so many lions, but she nudged Mtifu’s side and said,” Would you mind asking the if anyone has seen the monster? Even its pawprints? I hear it’s giant!”
And thank the stars! Another dog was making her way toward them. Maybe she wouldn't be so alone after all.

To hear him say he had not forgotten was a wonderful thing and she shoved against him again - just for good measure. "Sawa has not. Our parents are fine. They even have a new litter, can you believe that? They're pretty cute but not as cute as we were when we were their age." She grinned. And then, she thought of the sadder things that had happened. Trouble in the Pridelands and their grandfather...
Her smile faltered.
"It's probably best not to worry them with the details of what we do out in rogue lands." She added with a smile. "Come on, brother of mine, it looks like the part is starting without us." She turned to look as "Let's go and see if these healers can help at all, hm? We can catch up later." Or on the way, depending on how quiet they needed to be. And as she turned to listen in on the question and answer session, she kept firmly next to her brother, sometimes pressed so close to him that the tips of her fur brushed against his. It was good to have family close and she had missed her brother dearly. The fact that he had not given her any new name suggested he had not yet found one yet. But no matter. It was never too late.
"Perhaps you'll find yourself here, hm?" She asked softly.

Jemadari gave a nod in the direction of the grey lion and then moved over to sit close to An. "Life is always more interesting with you around, my friend." He smiled. And both of them were older and bigger now. Did that mean bigger troubles ahead?

"Hello, hello!" said Ndege, tail wagging. She did not mind lions, but she preferred dogs. Her own kind. "Yes, I'm from the Nyota-Wasomaji. It is good to see a familiar face in the crowd, packmate! I am Ndege," she added for the benefit of the other wild dog.
She thought over what she had heard of the killings, particularly the number of animals killed at a time. "This... creature... is either very large, very clever, or very numerous," she said slowly. "I think clever, if it hasn't been found. It could be one creature with a great many traps. Holes dug in the ground with sharp stones at the bottom and leaves spread over the top to disguise the entrance, things of that nature."
Bluu pushed towards the front of the group, hoping to hear whatever answers the healer gave, and caught the end of Ndege's reply. Clever dog! Her mind turned back to the mention of broken bones... could such a thing have come about from a fall? The wild dog was right - if the Greenwood monster was still alive and still uncaught, then it must be clever. The only way to fight cleverness was with information - and if the wild dog wasn't going to ask any questions, then she would. "About the injuries," she called, loud and clear, "particularly the bones. Were they caused by a creature or a trap? Perhaps something dropped from above."

Lani wagged her own tail in greeting to Ndedge, offering a wide smile. This was much better. The dogs were still heavily outnumbered by lions, but for now they’d have a tiny temporary pack to keep each other safe.
“I’m Lani,” she said as greeting, before rolling back on her haunches to a sit. She perked her ears, listening quietly, politely, as the new female spoke,” I think I’d prefer clever to big or numerous. At least that way, if we find the monster, it won’t be so bad to fight. Maybe we could even reason with it.”

Jahina wandered over, listening to everything going on. So much noise... So many voices... She looked around at everyone, before pushing her way past others. While she'd grown up in the Pridelands, she bore Firekin blood that showed through very clearly in how large she was. The pale orange-cream lioness also held a slightly short temper, something her father's former pride was rather famous for. Her ears folded back as it began to run out, before she bellowed rather loudly. "What is this monster and what might it even LOOK like? If it leaves tracks, what kind does it leave?" This was important information, after all.
From another direction, Moshi wandered up. He'd been on his name quest for a while, and was curious about this world beyond the swamps. He had no questions for whoever they were asking, only wanting to know what was going on. He could find that out by listening, though. The swamp-born lion picked up bits and pieces here and there, something about a monster and a family killed by it. He tilted his head, eyes half-closed and mouth hanging slightly open. Things got more and more curious as he listened... He'd have to stick around. Then there was the matter of these... Firekin. He'd heard of them from multiple sources, including his be-speckled uncle. He wasn't sure if he was really an uncle or not, but... Close enough, he guessed. The great lion had spoken of the desert to any cubs who'd listened, and Moshi had listened and developed a want to touch the sands. First, though.. There was a curious occurrence to take care of.
