But looking at current values on everything i dont think our efforts will make any difference on inflation rates. All we can really do is help decrease the prices at the vends when it is at its weakest point.
Being a vender only these days i have noticed some days are weaker than others.
The weakest days are the first two days of donation items release. People are selling there items low in the vend this includes all items accept 2003 items for obvious reasons. Maybe this is the best time to act. Problem is we dont have the resources hence why its not getting very far.
Yes we do auctions, yes plexi, winterlove gives cheap sealed letters. But its not really affecting the economy. But yes it does give hope to those recieving letters. You can tell they are greatful.
So im taking these efforts are not to decrease the overall economy, but we are trying to help people out of these tight squeezes. The auction etc will be put into peoples quests. Who will unfortunately have to buy inflated items.
Can something be done here. Voice opinions please, thankyou.
I miss lucifer xD

~~{ I think we can't decrease the price in the marketplace because people will always put incredible price, after all it's the nature of the human beings to make profits of everything. I think the best thing we can do is to make like Plexi do, to give hope to people and to help poor Gaian to have this beautiful and expensive items (well I think there will be more and more people who can't buy donation items because they become more and more expensive). I think admins should realesed again the donation items like halo and NM scarf to decrease the price in the marketplace. }~~

I've seen you putting cheap items at the vend, InnocentBlackShadow. In fact, I even bought from you occasionally and resale it for a little profit. Your items are always snapped up in a few seconds because they're too cheap, so venders would readily snap it up--if I didn't buy it, someone else sure will. In my opinion, that way of countering inflation doesn't work.
I think putting it up by under lowest vend is okay, but not too low (just about 300 tops). As the item gets more expensive the margin can be bigger, like 500 under lower vend for 20-40k items.
And putting more than one of the same item sure helps, because put yourself in a vender's shoe: if there's only one Sealed for 5100 and the others at 5400, I will put it for 5399 because I don't need to wait long until the 5100 one is sold. But if I see 4 Sealeds at 5100, I might put at 5099.
However, if the goal is to sell items to people who aren't profiteers and have work hard for it, the idea I like is to have it like what xyzse & FYA did... to sell items for cheaper to buyers that go through background checks before.

I think the best way to go would be to collect as many sealed envelopes each month as possible and then to sell them to the needy for less in the exchange 3nodding [if you sell in market, chances are a market whore will buy it and resell for a ton].
Lets say by the end of march we collected 100 sealed envelopes, that would be 100 people we could help this month.
Each month we could try to increase our numbers by something and eventually it would be at 1000. Of course in order to do this we would have to increase our # of members, and to do that this is what I propose:
-Send messages to all major guild leaders asking them if they would allow us to advertise in there forums or if we could be put somewhere in there forums to help gain members for our cause.
-Ask all current members to invite and tell all friends who are interested in helping the cause in any way.
-Making multiple banners, not just a single one, that members can add to there signatures- more advertisement.
-Talk about the guild while your exchanging in the exchange market. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I understand this place is also trying to fix the market, but in order to get the market fixed we need a high income and a lot of donations. That is why I propose beginning on the exchange. When we get up to like 500 sealeds a month we can test by just throwing 100 sealeds on the market and seeing if it will help :] - To verify this all people selling the sealeds from our donations will pm the buyer and ask them if they would've have been able to buy a sealed otherwise-. [though I dont think fixing the market is a simple process, it will take months, and even then it wont be fully fixed.. there will always be greedy gaians.]

Winters stopped caring.
@Blood: I'm giving all who approach me an opportunity to get a sealed for an uninflated price. I collect as many envelopes as I can, but due to lack of funds, I may not be able to continue to do so in the near future.
Winter refuses to care.

You would still have to work hard and complete tasks to get the item..but you wouldnt need to have artistic/exchanger talent. 3nodding

Because they have said in black n white that they would never rerelease old donation items for bloods reasons. The mods themselves gave these reasons..............

Hmm I thought they just said they wouldnt release them in
"mass amounts"
meaning a community wide release
I mean they still give users a chance to get them at cons.

We could attempt to set up and run a "L.A.I.D. quest shop" where we attempt to keep a good variety of items in stock, or enough pure to buy them from the vend when needed, and sell to questers at uninflated prices are performing background checks. This way they don't have to go to the vend, and the only people buying from the vend will be the people who don't know/care about getting cheaper from the exchange, or the exchangers themself and exchangers aren't the ones we want to sell cheap to.
Only way I see of deflating the MP price is if we ran a group effort. If we got 5 or 6 people together and distributed 4 of the item we're affecting to each user, and then stepladder them down in price(IE: If the item is a sealed which is in the market at 6k; one person could put four in for 5.9k, the next person at 5.8k, next person at 5.7k, and so on. We would have to have the resources to keep this up long enough that others putting their items in see our price and beat it. ^^

What about doing raffles for sealeds... you know, sell 10 tickets for 600 each or something like that. As long as all the profits go to the guild then you ccould build a nice bank role for the Cheap Sealed Project.

It seems like there's already quite a few guild activities up and going to earn pure for our efforts, the only thing missing is more activity at those efforts.
Like the auctions for example. Awesome ideas and should be a good way to earn gold but if we're the only ones that really know about it and participate we're just going around in circles. sweatdrop

I agree with ExtremeEagle. If we can always update each other about what activities LAID is organising, we can publicise more by putting it on our sigs or directing people to it while chatting.

Yeah. The way I see it, the problem isn't all about decreasing inflation. It's more about working together to move things forward. If everyone just does their own little thing, it's never going to get anywhere, no matter how great the goal is...
