I take keeping characters from the series in-character pretty seriously, because it maintains the integrity of the RP. You may, however, take some liberties with them to develop their character (romantic interests, filling in unspecified parts of history and habits, developing through training powers they have not yet achieved). 5. Original characters are welcome, but involvement in the main investigation may not occur immediately. If you wish to create an original character, this is more than acceptable...it is encouraged! You may create minor tie-ins with canon characters as well, referencing their history and yours (if at some point they crossed paths or came to know one another), as long as you do not tinker with what is canon about them. However because of the nature of the story, original characters will be forced to interact with the supernatural on a somewhat random (or situational) basis, but will still only be able to join established groups like the Investigation Team after surviving an ordeal and the team's defeat of their shadow. For villains, you will need to be a bit more specific about their pasts in your profile. 6. I reserve the right to add rules later, and the staff will have the power to make all major decisions/judgments on pending questions of etiquette, regulations, and conflicts. I ask that you respect the decisions/judgments made and accept them with grace. Most things in this Guild are relative and arbitrary based on your interactions and what you do with regards to your ambitions and style. 7. Do not be unpleasant to other Guild members, personally attack them or berate them, or be a general downer to the Guild. If you need to talk about personal issues or problems that is fine, but if you use your bad day as an excuse to attack other members, it will not be tolerated. 8. Relax and enjoy yourself. This is meant to be fun only. Please keep this in mind as you play, especially if conflicts arise.

Now, what you may have also noticed is that this Guild contains many elements and organizations which were not found within the original game. If you are familiar with the Shin Megami Tensei universe and other games within the franchise, much of it will seem familiar to you...if you are familiar with other fandoms, other groups may seem familiar in their own right. However, I assure you...you don't need to feel overwhelmed by all that you see. These groups and their characters are only side-stories, not necessary for you to know or participate in to enjoy 'The Golden' experience! You are welcome, at your discretion, to join in on events and subplots that are not connected to the Persona 4 storyline and that of the Investigation team, but it is not required. These groups merely serve to deepen the world in which our story takes place, and to provide optional side-arcs that may earn you additional perks and rewards!

What we hope to provide is an ever-changing, ever-growing roleplay experience for those who want to write their own tale within the Persona Universe! There will be school days, kidnappings, battles, and of course, you will face your true self as the story unfolds! But in the beginning, all you really need to begin your quest is a character...and a home to place them in. Fill our your Inaba/Persona-User profile (found in the Character Profile Skeleton forum on Page 1 of the Guild), send it to one of our moderator staff for approval, and you can begin your school days almost immediately!
Drafting into the main plot will not happen immediately, so you have time to relax and learn about the RP before you will be expected to truly understand what is going on. So relax, have fun, meet people! And before you know it, your story will be writing itself...

Having said that...the table is set! Come back here any time you are confused for plot updates, time-changes, and so on! If you have questions, refer to the FAQ, or ask myself or one of our talented moderator staff! The answer is almost always simpler than you might expect! And if you ever have any worries or concerns, you are always encouraged to come and voice them to me directly. I have an open PM-box policy! I won't always say yes when you have an idea, but I will always listen!

*~::Time Progression in Persona 4:FES - The Golden:~*
[Describing How the Days Will Pass in 'The Golden']
In order to keep the plot moving forward and to move past any lulls in the action, the days will progress through their many stages at a somewhat random, but fixed manner. What this means is that during the RP, at any time when there is a lull in the action, or the day naturally begins to progress into a later stage [say Early Morning before school into Morning during classes], the day will advance. Sometimes it may even skip a stage or two, depending on the day's plans.
When this happens, please react accordingly, and feel free to fill in the details later as to what you were doing in the minor time-skip. Usually it will be something obvious, of course, like sitting in class or sleeping, but sometimes you may do something else, depending on who and how you are. It's really up to you how you play it, just keep an eye out for the time progression!
When the time is about to progress, I will make a post within a quote box which states that the day has progressed.
Hope this isn't too confusing! And, thank you!

Present Day Nearly two months have passed since the Incident that nobody can remember...that blank, blurry space in everyone's minds having become a thing of distant memory. Peace returned to the world, albeit temporarily...those wrapped up in the cycle of heroism and despair still know of the dangers that lurk within the Tower that appears at Midnight...but at least for now, there is a sense of calm. But the shadows never stay restless for long...mankind's darker will always gains strength beneath the surface, when most believe it to have gone away. Soji Seta and the Investigation Team are aware that their work is not over...but as they wait for the Black Messiahs, the Shadow Persona-Users, to make their move...they enjoy the respite while they can...the ever-novel pleasure of a simple life.

(Opening Now!)
In the Beginning... September 1, 2012. It is a cloudy Saturday, a cool, overcast morning that belies the beauty that returns to the rural town of Inaba. But there is a sense of tranquility in the air that is undeniable; for nearly two months now, the town has known peace without incident. And today, Yasogami High School begins the Fall school term, and members of the Investigation Team are all getting used to going back into their classrooms, thankful for another semester together in their rural home.
Today, like any other day since the Nameless Incident, is peaceful. But with the Messiahs still out there in the Tower of Babel, and with the Dark Hour still appearing every night at midnight...how much longer can this tenuous peace last?
It is Early Morning...

Because it wouldn't do to have all of your characters frozen during the Dark Hour for however long it might be, the following precedents/rules have been established for characters not a part of a persona-using team during this time!
1. If your character has powers of any kind, they may be conscious during the Dark Hour!
2. If your character has the potential to obtain a persona, or you wish for them to one day join a persona-using group, then they may be awake during the Dark Hour!
3. Memories of events during the Dark Hour for those without powers will be fuzzy the next day, but not entirely gone.
4. If you do not have powers, you should under NO circumstances try to enter Babel unless you are with a Persona-User or Shadow Persona-User!
5. Please do not try to force your way into I. Team, Messiah, other main plot events if you are not invited or a member of the teams. There is no quicker way to ensure you won't be involved than to try to force your way in before your character is ready!
6. If your character does not have powers, the Midnight Channel will be blurry and incomprehensible to you as well.
7. Have fun, freak out, and be careful! Things that go bump in the night love to prowl during the Dark Hour...and would be glad to make you their dinner!

The first day of the school year ends, but not without incident...and tragedy. In the Dark Hour, a brutal ambush lays up a member of the Investigation Team, forcing the rest of the squad into a nightmarish fight against the Darkest Place within the heart of their dear friend, Minori Koroko. Her Shade, the manifestation of those feelings she cannot accept, was a difficult enemy...but through perseverance, teamwork, and strength of will, it was overcome. Genji Amagai remains unconscious in the hospital.
...You are tired. What was the puppeteer manipulating the Shade tonight? Does this mean that everything is starting again...? Too many questions run through your mind. You decide to return home and rest...and hope that in the morning, Genji will awaken in the hospital.
(Time marches onward!)
Sunday Morning... September 2nd, 2012. It is a bright, clear Sunday, but distant sirens break the quiet peace of the morning. Rumors circulate town about a violent break-in at one of Inaba's well-known families' houses on the edge of the city...and the hospitalization of their 17 year-old son.
Dark wheels begin to turn, and for the Investigation Team, an eerie sense of deja vu begins to set in. The issue of the Shades must soon be addressed...
It is once again, Early Morning...

[Suddenly the image begins to flash to a 'scene' of each figure standing on the stage one-by-one, statistics about their weight and height flashing beside their portrait on one side, with a tasteless nickname attached to their name beneath it! The announcer reads off each name and tasteless epithet with an unnatural relish!]

[9/3] Dark Hour -> [9/3] After School
A lighthearted reunion for the Investigation Team ends with an ominous mystery; the Midnight Channel is airing again, this time with a strange promo for a fighting program called the P1-Grand Prix promising to pit the members of the team against one another in combat! But if Babel was born from Tartarus, and Tartarus came into the real world from a merging of the TV and the real...then just where exactly is the location inside the TV that the program is airing from? And does this mean that another person has fallen inside of the television that must be saved? The Investigation Team is faced with more questions...even as the mysteries of the Shade Attack remain unsolved. But overnight, the dangerous situation grows even more unnerving...
Genji Amagai has disappeared from the hospital, and Kanji Tatsumi disappeared from his house during the night.
What do these disappearances mean? Are they related to the Midnight Channel?
...
...You realize that you must wait for tomorrow to investigate. After school, you decide to meet in the Junes Food Court and go inside of the TV.

Monday After School... September 3rd, 2012. It is a rainy, dreary Monday, and students hurry home after school to avoid getting caught in the downpour. Rumors have been spreading around town about a strange terrorist incident in the Iwatodai, but details are sparse at best.
And rumors also spread throughout Yasogami High School about a certain television program, the wary glances of those students letting those who were featured know that last night was much more than a dream...
It is now, After School...
