It was hot out. That was the only thing Connor could describe the day as being. Whether or not it was because he was too lazy, melting in the sun, to describe it any further, or if it really was just the best way to describe it, was beyond his capability to decide in the current heat. He groaned from his watch post at the Valhalla blue base, as he stared out past the hills and the rocks, and the tall tower of red base, to where he caught small glimmers of the ocean. His fur stuck uncomfortably to the sides of his helmet and he was beginning to feel stuffy. aPer hadn't spoken a word to him in nearly an hour. He didn't blame her. He wasn't exactly the most thrilling spartan to converse with when bored and hot.Shrugging himself off the metal wall of the base, Connor headed in to the shade. He knew he was supposed to be watching for trouble. But honestly, who the hell in their right mind would want to do anything in this heat? As he slumped himself in to the shade of the base, nearby the blood-stained, beaten up Mongoose that he was sure would one day be the death of him, he peeled his helmet from his head and clunked it down beside him. His messy blonde hair stuck to his head, and he was sure he must have looked rediculous. Shaking it loose, back in to the mess that stuck up in all directions, he sighed and closed his eyes for a moments rest.
It was the first time all day his brain seemed to function. It was then that he realized he hadn't heard from his partner all day. He wondered what she was up to, inside the cool base. He scooted himself across the thick glass floor of the base and peeked his head down the opening above the ramp, his hair and ears swaying slightly in the slight warm breeze. "Hey 'Consin. You in there?"
