This is the Library, as suspected it is the quietest part, and also as suspected because of it being the place that it is, there was harldy any students in the area at the time and so there are barely any of "Them" here. And so that makes this place perfect to rest up for awhile.

Encounter Rule: Every 7 posts, say there are seven of you, after the seventh person has posted then this action will be done; role a single 6 sided dice, if it lands on a 2, 4 or 6 you'll encounter 5 of "Them".

"It must be your lucky day..."

Stacatto fingers typed on the keyboard as she looked through the news, hoping for something. There had to be a hint as to what was happening in the world, a hint that they would make it out alive. It had been a month since the Infection started... gods, she didn't even know what day of the week it was anymore; things like that didn't matter. She had been hiding out in here for some time. The news didn't seem to be getting any better and with the entire islands under quarentine, aid seemed unlikely. The last known update was from a week ago. No one else had said anything about the outbreaks survivors. But there were others. She knew that there were always others around. It was merely difficult to determine who to trust. Some would harm her just as much as Them.

Them... that is what the infected were called. It wasn't like they were human anymore; the virus had rotted out their brains to the point of cannibalism and the need to bite. Any bite would be enough to spread on the virus; she had become paranoid that she check herself every night after any encounter to be sure she wasn't one of them, that she wasn't infected. The first few weeks had been fairly quiet, she had managed to slip underneath the radar. Her first encounter had given her the knowledge of her weapon choice; it had been a broom that she had grabbed to slam through the head of a zombie. The strangled sounds ahd been oddly satisfying. And she had been lucky to not be bitten. The weapon stayed with her whereever she went. Sometimes she had to find another in a storage closet, but over all it was fairly simple. Mops, brooms... all had poles and so all were useful.

Rubbing her shoulders, she shut off the computer before climbing up the bookshelf. It was her perch, her place to watch and be sure that the few Them who came after her scent had a harder time reaching her. Them frightened her and she hated anything to do with them. But it was necessary to survival. Fight or flight; she had no choice but to fight these days. Laying low as she fingered her staff, the young girl whispered softly under her breath. "My name is Lucky Richards. I am eighteen; today is my birthday." She couldn't forget what was important, she wouldn't become a savage. "My family lives in America; my father is in the military. I am good at computers. Them didn't always exist. There are other survivors." A mantra of truth whispered endlessly as she lay there waiting. Them always showed up. It was just a matter of time. Still, she could unlock most doors with her handy little cham tool. Perhaps there would be a team that found her useful. Most only cast her aside as the geek; she'd seen most of them get eaten early on. Few were actually smart enough to live.

The sound of a sliding door would pierce the otherwise solemn room that was the library. Reiko entered, setting his rifle in his sling as he did so. He had come for a specific book, one that he had located before the outbreak but was unable to get to it in the confusion of the initial panic. More people died in those opening days then during any period since the disease garnered wide spread attention. He, as well as a select group of others, were prepared when the disaster came. He knew that there were many others who had survived, he had encountered them in his travels already, but the sheer amount who had perished was staggering to say the least. As he walked down the rows of bookshelves he heard something. It sounded like a whisper but it was very faint. And, strangely enough, it sounded like it was coming from...up?

His eyes drifted to where he guessed the source of the noise was and sure enough, there she was. A female, he couldn't remember her name, perched on top of a bookshelf. As good a place as most, but if a couple of them got in here they would have no trouble tipping it over"Hey up there" He called out"You might wanna rethink your vantage point, they are all over the hallways ya know?" If he remembered right, he had seen her in a science club meeting or something. If so, she was one of the smarter people in the school and maybe...maybe she had some information about where all this started.

"It must be your lucky day..."

Lucky glanced down at the new comer. "If you keep making that much noise," she answered sardonically tilting an eye brow. "Then you're going to draw them here and I am going to have to kick your a** for giving me away." Lithely jumping to a bookshelf close to the wall, but still as a decent vantage point, Lucky stared at him as she tried to place his face... oh, that's right. He was one of those apocalypse zombie survival kids. She'd seen him at the meetings; personally though she hadn't believed the hype. It was too much like a horror movie until the kills actually started. Now she shuddered to think what might have happened if no one knew. The exchange student tried to think. What was his name? Ricko? No... Something like that but she couldn't place it. "Name's Lucky, my friends call me Locks. Hacker genious is my alley... I think I'm the only one left who is..." The green eyes softened slightly. Everyone had lost friends in the last month and try as she might, she had only been able to find minor information on the cause; still she had deduced that the virus had jumped to the humans. It was an accident, a mistake of science that they couldn't seem to cure. "Why are you in here though? If you're looking for information I can give you what I got, but its not much..."

This girl seemed rather well equipped to deal with danger, both physically and mentally. And not only that but she said she was some sort of hacker? Oh yes! That American exchange student! He had heard about her, a rumor that she was able to hack into the grading system and change her grades. Now that was talent!"Name's Reiko. Rio for short?" He said, jerking his thumb towards a row of books"I am here for a bit of information on Water Purification" He took a seat in a nearby chair and unslung his rifle, setting it on top of the table to free his shoulders from the burden"I am also trying to round up as many kids as possible. I don't want any unnecessary deaths"

The sound of boots sounded the normally silent library, a young man clad in black strode in a rifle slung over his shoulder, a bag in the other. He turned to see two people, one he knew from their club and another he had seen a couple times during school but other than that never talked to her, people were never interested in Hidesheo Kaze. They either hated him because of his attitude or thought he was a weirdo because of his obsession with the undead, "Ah . . . Reiko-kun, you're doing fine, as expected as a fellow member of the Zombie Survival Club." Kaze came smirked, "I came here to grab the library's copy of our holy Bible. Mine copy was destroyed."

He heard the door open, and was about to react when he heard Kaze's voice, annoying as always, ring out in explanation.'Such a two faced little brat...' He knew for a fact that whenever he had an opportunity he publicly slandered him. The kid did that ever since their first meeting for the ZS Club. Reiko always scored the highest marks on the exams and was the most proficient shooter with a rifle. He suspected the kid was jealous but honestly he couldn't care less for the explanation for his actions"Drop the act Kaze. Get your crap and go" Why is it the dead never ate the ones he wanted them too?

"Wait for Miki!" Miki ran in suddenly, following every step that Kaze-senpai had made, but along the way, she had been followed. She walked half way into the library and the air seemed to become very thick. Miki stopped in her tracks, hearing voices not to far off, about a couple of book shelves away, and almost immediately, as she heard a drooling sound behind her, a wide grin danced upon her face. "Playtime~" Miki was like water, her body slipping by the thing's decayed arms and jumped past extended legs and in a split second, she was on the ground, her body spinning against it as if she were a top herself, then exploded her legs upward, breaking the two zombie's necks. Next she pushed herself up and landed on another zombie's head, crushing it beneath her feet. The finale, she grabbed something out of her bag, a red stick, she strapped the tip quickly against her shoe, igniting it, then began to back up just as two zombies rushed at her with intentions to bite her, she popped one into a zombie's mouth and back flipped away, just as it made a loud explosion within it's mouth, leaving four dead and one zombie badly wounded on the ground. She had blood on her cheek and on her shoes and a bit on her jacket, but she just skipped away from it, smiling giddily over to her senpai, wrapping her arms around his with a big smile. "Senpai! Did Miki do good? They are the bad guys right?" Miki looked up at him with all smiles, unfazed by what had just happened, and her interest increasingly falling into a deep void of forgetfulness, or just plain boring information.[31.14]

"It must be your lucky day..."

Lucky stared at the kid. "Water purification? Simple. You need clothe, some type of dirty water, and sand with one big rock. String is helpful to suspend." she answered before staring at the kid who came in. God damn them! Three people were lunch for the undead and they were bringing with them all types of scents that would lead the Them here to her hide out. And from the moaning, there were at least five. "Damn it! You had to bother the nerd!" she swore. Fear lit up her eyes as she dropped down among the group. Slamming it into one head already the girl tried not to scream as the blood spattered the books. Gods it was gross and there were others just as she thought. They must have been a few stragglers... She wanted to run, but already on the ground that didn't look like it was going to be possible. She only hoped they had as strong a will to survive as she did.

As he trained himself to be, Rio remained level headed when 'They' came. He had preapred for this for a long time, and fighting the zombies in the courtyard and at the mall made him the one with the most experience here. These things could be killed, and he would prove it. Bringing his gun up to his shoulder, he exhaled his breath and just as he was about to pull the trigger to end all this, he noticed they were already dead. One strange girl having killed four on her own, while Locks took down the last one"Well well well, looks like you ladies got some fight in you after all" He directed his gaze towards the Hacker he had just recently met"This place is not safe. Please, come with me to the science room. I have to check for more survivors" Having her with him would increase both their odds of survival, and that was something worth pursuing. Regardless, he would set off for his destination

Kaze raised an eyebrow, impressed at Miki's physical prowess, she was in the Parkour Club, plus she was so unique, "Good job Miki-chan, you scraped "them" like they were nothing but garbage, just the way they're supposed to go." Kaze turned to Reiko who was leaving, "Oi. Fine I'll drop all the pleasantries, get this straight kid, do what you have to survive, stay out of my way, keep the others safe. You know the rules. We follow the same code." Kaze picked up the book he came to get, and showed it to Reiko. "Good luck to us both right?" He turned to the hacker girl, "Go with this kid or you can come with us, he's reliable enough, but . . . he'll always ask for something in return." Kaze turned to Miki who was glued to his arm and ruffled her hair, "Let's go meet Kana-kun, he's bound to have found supplies by now." He with Miki in tow, walked out of the room. "To the mall we go!"

"It must be your lucky day..."

Lucky stared at all of them as she cleaned her handle of blood. Her green eyes were dark with anger. "You are idiots. I don't run with idiots who carry guns.Get out." The words were growled low, deep in her throat. "Get out of here NOW." Neither were welcome, none of them who had upset her peace. She didn't need a team, she needed someone with enough brains to know that groups only attracted more them. Clearing out the dead bodies into the halls, she relocked the doors the library as she slid back up on her book shelf. Encounters should be rarer. If the one had decided to stay, he might meet an unfortunate end if he remained much longer.

She was praised. Her cheeks flushed a soft, giddy pink for actually doing something for Kaze-senpai. When he ruffled her messy hair again, with more strands popping out this time, she exploded with a large grin, feeling very special. However, her suddenly feeling of specialness was turned down by another girl within the library that was scared spit-less. Miki's head cocked to the side when she began to yell at her and she hid behind Kaze-senpai, holding his arm still with both of hers wrapped around that one. Just then, her mind went blank again, looking up at the ceiling, her eyes black pools of brownish black. "Ah." It was time to go. Her eyes widened slightly and she jumped to the tip of her toes, just like a ballerina. "Yum-yums?! Kana-senpai found yum-yums?!" Hoping that this was very true, her eyes glistened with an anxious feeling of wanting to see Kana-senpai and eating more yum-yums. Maybe she could show them her secret hide out. Feeling all excited inside, she raised a fist and began to walk with kaze-senpai, making odd child sounds and muttering. "Yum-yums! Yum-yums!" Still, strangely walking on the tips of her toes.

°• ~ She had planned to go to the library anyway, but human voices inevitably caused her to draw from her merry path and check it out. Frankly, if she managed to hear them, a crowd of the undead wouldn't fail to, either. Morons... She sighed, clearly annoyed by the fact people are practically incapable of learning lessons. Although useful to have a buddy, being bunched together in large groups did no one any good at all. Obviously, not with her. She was the loudest person she knew. It drew attention- something in this case severely unwanted by anyone alive with common sense. The voices had faded, most of the people she had heard left already. She remained poised behind the corner for a minute or so after the zombies had arrived, and very nicely cleaned up by a young woman with red hair. She grinned. At least some people weren't afraid to hold back when it came to the un-dead. Sure, there were the blood thirsty type, which she frankly didn't like, and the more innocent kind. That in her opinion was most amusing to watch.

Once the male and his red-headed companion left, she proceeded to make her way into the library, stepping carefully over the corpses as she did so. She knew there was someone else still in there, stupid, in her opinion, but she didn't plan to interact with whoever it was. In, and out. She repeated that in her mind as if it were a prayer. The door was just very recently locked, but that not being much of a problem she picked the door open and entered gingerly. As usual, the library was utterly deserted in an austere fashion, except for the one female perched on a book shelf. She closed the door softly again. Moving over to the bookshelves, she scanned the titles of the various books. Murming slightly aloud to herself, when she found what she was looking for, she took it out of the shelf. A nifty little book on survival. Obviously there was nothing about zombies in there, but she needed to know essentials she lacked. She had also taken a map of the school to mark out locations. She slid down one of the book shelf and sat on the ground, and took a few moments to map out areas which could be potentially more dangerous than others. "Y'know," she spoke to the female, "the more you stay in one place the better chance they have of finding you." She kept her eyes focused on what she was doing, not intending to stay long in the slightest.
