♪~Determined~♪ Naomi, when she set her mind to something or has a goal she wants to acomplish, she stops at nothing to make it happen. When she doesn't get something done that she really wanted to get done, she becomes rather upset at herself. This doesn't stop her from continuing trying, instead, she gets a deeper resolve and works even harder to achieve whatever it was that she failed at initially.
♪~Tomboy~♪ Naomi will always be seen in pants or shorts and will need a lot of persuasion just to look at a skirt or a dress. She loves to rough and tumble around, not minding getting scraped, bruised or cut up. A lot of times she can be seen climbing on her larger, more sturdier Pokemon like the trees on her Torterra, Gaia's back. In fact, she feels and gets rather awkward around other girls, especially those that like dressing up, putting on make-up and dressing up their Pokemon. She likes hanging out with boys much better, finding them much more interesting, fun, and having more in common with them, than with most girls.
♪~Goodwilled~♪ Naomi is a sweet girl. She is generous and caring and won't hesitate to lend a hand if needed. Wheather another human or a Pokemon, Naomi would go out of her way to resolve whatever problem that may have come up, whether it was something simple like listening to problems or searching for something or nursing wounds. She never offers help for a reward or take one even if offered. With or without an reward, helping others makes her and the one she's helping feel good.
♪~Stubborn~♪ Naomi isn't the type to give up easily. When wanting to help someone, if someone declined her offer for help especially when she definitely knows they need help, it's hard for her to accept no. She will insist on helping (a person, she won't aggrivate a Pokemon), almost constantly until the other relents, leaves, or she finally just gives up. When trying to catch a Pokemon, she's serious and doesn't let anything distract her.
♪~Unconfident in battle~♪ When faced with a battle, despite loving to battle, Naomi gets rather nervous/worried. Lots of things start coming to mind when facing another trainer, like she didn't train good enough, she doesn't have a well balanced team, or her Pokemon just aren't ready for the battle. Whichever the case, she puts her faith in her Pokemon and accepts whatever the results may be.
♪~Squeamish~♪ Even despite being able to run with the boys, there are some lines Naomi will not cross. Like overtly lude things. She can handle slightly naughty jokes or innuendos, but things like flirting with her or getting rather physical would get a more embarrassed or scared reaction from the trainer. She also tends to get nervous when it comes to feelings of attraction, whether showing or receiving it. Because of this, it might be a little difficult to get close to her. ♪~Their relationship~♪ Naomi has a good relationship with her family. Her parents are supportive of everything she does and it was because of them and their inspiration to her that made her quest to become a breeder. Her father worries about her being a trainer though, scared that she would get hurt by a wild Pokemon or have a terrible encounter with someone who would do her harm to take her Pokemon, despite this though, still hopes she finds happiness in whatever she does. Naomi is especially close to her younger brother. Before she set out on her traveling to become a trainer, the two could never be seen apart. This became more especially true after Enzo was attacked by a troop of Mankeys and became afraid of Pokemon. First to be mentioned and introduced, are her parents. Both Jonathan and Lillian Turner are experienced breeders, specializing mainly in Lucarios and water types, having their own ranch in Canalave City, Sinnoh. Life was pretty good for the two of them. Business was fine, customers coming in to buy eggs, breed their Pokemon and sometimes even gifted them with extra eggs they might get. They had good friends and Pokemon that loved them, but the one thing they didn't have were children. Yes, they had Pokemon children, but they were not the same as children of their own, so with that, they started to attempt to have a baby. After several years of trying, the couple could not seem to be graced with the miracle of life. After ten years of trying, Lillian and Jonathan began to lose hope. With their last ounce of hope, they gave it one last try. This time, to their amazement and their relief, something wonderful happened. Nine months later, their daughter Naomi was born.
Because of all the effort to even have Naomi, it wasn't too far to say she was greatly pampered and worried over. . . greatly. Every little thing, she was doted over. She coughed, they worried that she had pneumonia. She sneezed, they thought she had a terrible disease. This went on even as she grew into a toddler. It was when she was three, when her parents were surprised by the birth of Naomi's little brother, Enzo, that the frantic concern died.
Getting older, Naomi began to help around the house. Small things at first, like filling the Pokemon's food bowls, helping her mother fold clothes and play with the Pokemon. This moved to washing dishes, watching or feeding her little brother, and collecting eggs. When she turned fifteen, her parents taught her how to raise the Pokemon they were watching for customers and allowed her to help run the ranch. This was also when her parents gave her, her first Pokemon. She was given an egg from the family's prized Lucario. She could never be seen without the egg since then, taking it everywhere she went. Soon enough, her attentions paid off and the egg hatched into a small, but energetic Riolu, which she named Ridley. Much like it was when he was an egg, Ridley wasn't too far from Naomi's side a lot of times. Unfortunately, when he was away from Naomi, the small fighting type would use his abundant energy to make mischief.
One day, while the whole Turner family was bringing in a shipment, little Ridley had gotten himself into the corrals where some customer's Tauros' were. There, he snuck up on the large bulls before attacking with Force Palm. Now startled, then agitated, the Tauros' stampeded. Though small, they still managed to crash through other Pokemon's pens and causing a lot of other damage. Hearing the noise, the family ran out to where it came from and saw the destruction and Pokemon running about. While Naomi went and found Ridley, her parents herded all the freed Pokemon while their Lucario stopped the rampaging Tauros'. As everything settled, Naomi scolded her Pokemon for causing all the trouble, saying someone really could have gotten hurt. Her parents felt the same as they went over to discuss the situation to her. Naomi then took the blame for not watching him and not keeping him occupied. It was then that she suggested that she should go out and become a trainer, that battling might re-route his energy into something productive. Still a bit of the worriers, her parents weren't sure and said they would think about it.
It took Naomi's parent a month to decide and luckily she was able to keep Ridley in line during this time, with help from his mother. But after much discussion and thought, they allowed their first born to go out into the world and become a trainer. Giving her the information of where to find Professor Rowan and carrying her across the water of Route 218 to Jubilife City. After saying their goodbyes, Naomi and Ridley made their way to Sandgem Town, where, after meeting the Professor, she got her first "official" Pokemon, having chose Turtwig, whom she named Gaia.
Not too long afterward, she had her first battle. She was so nervous, she felt that this trainer would have much more experience than she would, but accepted the challenge. She felt that she would never learn if she never tried. The battle was long and intense, but unfortunately, Naomi lost, but she learned from her mistakes and looked forward to her next battle.
With every battle, Naomi became more and more skilled at it and came to know what to expect. She was still nervous at the beginning of each battle though. But mainly, she was happy to see Ridley excited for every battle and less and less destructive. Their bond grew exponentially since they left the ranch, so much that he refused to be put in a PokeBall for almost anything. This bond was soon tested when a guy trainer got too close for Naomi's comfort and wouldn't leave her alone. Ridley, wanting to stop him, attacked, but with every attempt to lunge at the male, he was blocked by his Luxio. The Riolu got quite beaten up from each lunge and was getting tired, but he was determined to stop the trainer. It was when the other trainer got too rough with Naomi and hurt her that really upset the small Pokemon. With a bark, a bright glow surrounded the fighting, steel type and after a few moments, something happened... the little Pokemon grew! When the light faded, what stood them was a large, upset Lucario. Enraged, Ridley made easy work of the Luxio with a Bone Rush. This scared the other trainer and he gathered his fainted Pokemon and ran off. Ever since that incident, Ridley was less his over energetic self and more protective of his trainer and dear friend.
Over the years, Naomi had many battles, caught different types of Pokemon and traveled across the lands. She visited a land called Unova first, where her first Pokemon caught was a Mincinno, a Joltik, then a Zorua... well, that was a gift for helping someone, as well as many others. Next, she traveled to the land of Hoenn, where she caught a variety of Pokemon, including a runt of an Aron, which at a later time, evolves into a massive Aggron. Her next destination was Johto, where she caught more Pokemon from, which included a Yanma, a Cyndaquil, and a Mantine.
Finally, Naomi reached the land of Kanto. Yet again, she caught a wide variety of Pokemon, while training the Pokemon she was traveling with at the time. She decided to stay in this land for some time, for a few reasons. One, there were no other lands to visit, two, she wanted to take a break of some kind, and finally, she was debating on whether or not she wanted to take the gym challenge she was told about.
