Your username: Daijonakain Your Kin (please link name to cert): Soul Drift Why your Kin is a potential Tidewalker: He'd be more of a 'come and go' sort, but Soul is tougher than he may appear upon first glance. He's resourceful and the fact that he travels far and wide across the swamp means that he could, potentially, be a good source of information, not to mention a good recruit! Everyone has a weakness. What might keep your Kin from being the perfect Tidewalker? He can be a bit forgetful, and a little scatterbrained. He gets these extremely powerful urges to visit certain parts of the swamp, and sometimes these urges can drown out other things on his 'to do' list, leaving him to forget, in some cases, what they might have even been! Please write a brief RP entry on one of the following topics: how your Kin heard of the Tidewalkers and decided to join: Long after his first clutch, and the meeting of the doe who had mothered them, Soul Drift's inevitable desire leads him, once again, back to the sandy shores of the beaches. It is not the home of the Tidewalkers just yet, but the smell of the salt, none the less, is the same. It a unique and poignant smell, that brings memories, just as strong, flashing to the forefront of his mind.
A grey doe, sleek and wild, with a glint in her eye is looking at him, daringly, and he is young, so young. He is not sure what to do with himself-- not really-- but he knows that he likes her quite a lot, despite the fact that her hunger seems to be, at the moment, more interesting than the buck himself. She tells him about a strong doe, an older female, who has invited this hungry young one to join their clan. "The Tidewalkers", she calls them. Soul Drift is intrigued.
And now, long after his own children have begun to have children of their own, Soul Drift returns to that place, beneath the dappled green and vibrant colors of the mangrove trees. The place he is seeking, though, is further north-- where the beaches are not quite so swampy, but are more truly hard and rough. His stomach flutters with anticipation, as it always does when he begins a new quest, and he turns his head in that direction.
He is going to meet the Tidewalkers.

Your Kin: Soul Drift Short tag/title for Kin (check to make sure not already in use): The Grandfather [I picture him as an older sort, and this seems to fit him so well, but... if that's not okay, then perhaps The Mentor?] A short blurb about your Kin and how s/he fits in to the Tidewalkers or what his or her jobs might be. Subject to oversight by Rejam: Perhaps one of the most mellow of the Tidewalkers, Soul Drift almost always has some story, gossip, bit of advice, or other new thing to share with anyone curious enough, and willing, to listen to him ramble on. He is a mediator, teacher, storyteller and an uncomplaining set of helpful hooves whenever he can be. Yet, despite his obvious content in their midst, he nevertheless disappears, sooner or later, often without so much as a word-- only to return a month, or five, later. Permanent resident or come-and-go? Come and go

Your Kin (please link name to cert): uncert for now >> I was le impatient <<
Why your Kin is a potential Tidewalker: Squall was born on the southern shore and spent his life surviving the elements, sometimes on nothing but his own tenacity. Hardship has weathered him and made him strong, capable of the grueling demands of a Tidewalker's existence, while the sea has claimed his heart -- he could never leave it for long.
Everyone has a weakness. What might keep your Kin from being the perfect Tidewalker? Squall is prone to fits of black temper - his mood darkens and almost everything makes him angry, even violent. These mood swings never last long, and he does his best to seclude himself if he feels one coming, but he's sure to fail and step on some hooves.
Please write a brief RP entry on one of the following topics: how your Kin heard of the Tidewalkers and decided to join Shortly after his eyes opened, that was when he first saw her, a grey-brown doe scratching symbols into a mangrove's trunk. An O and an X, he knew not yet what they meant, but they seemed paradoxically opposite.
That had been when he was still too young for the shore, forced to linger at the more hospitable edges of the marsh with only the taste of salt in the air. It wasn't long after, still but a colt, when he stubbornly moved shoreward, fighting the elements for the sake of the sea. That was when he saw her more often -- or rather, them. There were three at first, another doe white and teal, and a massive buck of similar hue. They did not often venture to his far corner of beach, and when they did it was always one at a time, but the three did so with a regularity that tied them together.
As he grew, so did their numbers -- more faces, shades of teal and sandy brown, younger than him but starting to make their rounds. He learned what the symbols meant, the signs of safety and danger written side by side. Fitting for the beach. Fitting for those who walked it. They began to ask why he was there, on their beach. He told them it was his home. They told him it was there's too. They told him about who they were and how they lived, and he found that as much as he loved the sea, it could not take the place of his kin.
It seemed only fitting he found her in the midst of a storm. She was changed now, different from the doe he first saw scratching the first symbols into the trees. In many ways, he too had changed. Rain pelted their coats from above, salt spray from below, as Squall dipped his head to the sand and spoke the request she had already known he was going to make.
"It won't be easy," she warned him, no mercy in her eyes.
"Living here never is," he replied, knowing.
((Idk if I took Bitterleaf OOC at the end, but the important part is the beginning so I can chop that off at your discretion))

Your username: Delicate Rose Bud Your Kin: Troubled Waters Why your Kin is a potential Tidewalker: Troubled Waters is a very positive, easy-going 'meti. She always tries to see the good in everyone and everything. Once she sets out on a task, there is very little that can keep her from finishing it...even though it might take her a while. Troubled Waters always looks for the beauty in life, so she is naturally drawn to the sandy shores of the beaches. Everyone has a weakness. What might keep your Kin from being the perfect Tidewalker? Troubled Waters spaces out from time to time. When life is so simple and beautiful, it's not hard to lose yourself in everyday life. Shone might find her gazing out at the horizon, a distant look in her eyes, or into a fire. One may never know what goes on in her head. Please write a brief RP entry on one of the following topics: your Kin's first patrol; how your Kin heard of the Tidewalkers and decided to join; or your Kin's return to the beach and new home after completing the first patrol: Troubled Waters climbed up the last rolling hill, the beach coming into view. It felt like she had been gone forever, and missed the feel of the warm sand under her hooves. But she wasn't one to complain. There was so much beauty on her Patrol that kept her mind off of the ocean. How could she forget that one rock that looked like a snail, the pretty pinks and oranges swirling inward on the polished stone. She could've say there for hours, tracing the curls and swirls of the stone with her eyes, but she had a task to finish. The Kin that had gone with her were all very nice. They each had a very unique personality that made her realize just how diverse the world could be. But now the beach was right in front of her, the long journey past. She smiled happily as she made her way down the scrub-scattered dunes, laughing as the cold waters lapped at her ankles. Oh, how good it was to be home.
