I've been working all morning on the Literature Review for my Masters' degree Thesis paper. My project is about babies who were in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and Vulnerable Child Syndrome (VCS). The lit review is about 7 pages long. My brain feels like it's fried, but I've still got other homeworks to do today... sad

I've never heard of VCS ... what is it? I used to love doing research. When I was teaching college freshman English (in exchange for my grad school tuition), I would send them on a research scavenger hunt in the library. I thought it was a lot of fun, but some of them didn't seem to agree ... sad

From what I've found so far, VCS is actually a made-up syndrome that parents give their children when the parent thinks the child is too weak or vulnerable to do anything for themselves. The parent ends up doing almost everything for the child and the child grows up and is very dependent on other people (I'm pretty sure). The child might be dependent even though there could be nothing clinically wrong. It's interesting to learn about, definitely.

As a side note, would anyone be interested in reading what I have so far? I won't be insulted if you all say no, but I would like to get feedback on it. It is supposed to be a simple read that anyone can understand. I'm bringing it to the campus writing center at some point this week before I hand it in, but I'd love to be able to edit it before I go there. Thanks muchly. heart

I did my thesis last semester. It was much more fun doing that than taking the 2 classes I have right now! Your topic sounds interesting. If you want someone else to read over it I'll take a look. luvnisa187 at hotmail.com

I have to say, that's the one thing I miss about high school - the 4 day weekends. My college doesn't even get a Spring Break this semester because the head mucky-mucks gypped us and put our "Spring Break" around Easter. We still get a whole week, but it's only one week... with a holiday in the middle. No time for traveling...
