hey, well I'm new here and I don't know much about North Korea but from I do get- it verges on atrocious. Personally, they're a totalitarian, militant regime- and lax at best on human rights- as can be seen in their prison camps and in the fact that one of the only reasons the North Korean government has opened up(slightly) to the west and agreed to slow- if not stop their nuclear programme, is because of widespread starvation in the population. Apparently things are bad enough there that 80 percent of the entire population, civilian and military suffer from malnutrition and starvation. (Not kwarshikors, but I'm not sure they didnt have much details in the article)
So no I dont think the country's going to get better under the son. He's ruled by his advisors, a bunch of hardliners, and if he's not ousted by the military then at the very least he'll be a puppet ruler.
