Lying face-down on the floor, Batholith should have been asking himself why he had curled up on a couch in the Lucky Noodle Shop to sleep instead of his bed back home. But his housemates were nosy, and the couch here had lots of pillows, and at this hour, there was hardly anyone here to be loud enough to bother him. It was safe. Well, relatively safe--he'd heard stories about secret caches of rocket launchers and extra-dimensional zombies wandering around the bowels of the shop somewhere, but it didn't seem he'd meet any old faces. Except in dreams.
He clenched a double-handful of rug and took a deep, shuddering breath. The course material of the rug rubbed uncomfortably against his forehead, a strangely soothing reminder that he was here, in the shop, unlikely to be hurt by anyone here. No reason to take chances, though. Once he had calmed down and forced the, the...the feel of the dream away, he sat up and wiped his tears on his arm. He hoped no one had seen. But it was late, and most of the noodles had gone home or gone to bed. There was hardly anyone else here. He was safe. Bath drew his knees up against his chest and buried his face against them. Only a dream. Only a dream. Only a memory. He was safe now.

Unfortunately for Batholith, superheroin never slept and Teak kept to this. There was just always the thought on his mind that someone needed to be save and if that thought was on his mind, then he was wide awake ready to help.
Yawning, the little superheroion open the door to the fridge. He had been rather hungry after a day of saving others. He wanted something sweet, the thought of a Peanut-butter and Jelly sandwich had caught his fancy. He grab the jelly and headed over to grab both the bread and peanut butter. Eyeing everything, almost made him drool. He was so hungry. In the last 24 hours he had save one cat and two fishes. They were easy jobs but they were saved and that's all that counted. He had float up and took the scratches the cat gave him but he had did it. He brought the cat back to the owner and knew that he was happy to have Mr. Fluffy back in his arms once again. That's what Teak's favorite part was. When the person felt so happy that their pet or their self was save. He was happy to help but inside he felt good that he had done this. And for this fishes he had save them from dying and brought them back to the sea, which was just as good.
He started to make his sandwich, when he hear something. That familiar sound or hurting. Crying was it? His ears perk and his heart started to beat. He had caught on to another trail. Someone that really needed help. He quickly finish his sandwich and sallow it whole as he move down to the floor to catch the sound a bit better. He moved to the sound, which lead him to the living room. Weird? Most people where at their bed at this time. This noodle most of really needed his help. Which made Teak feel quite awesome, he was really going to help out this one, which brought a smile to his face. He moved closer until his face landed on the end of the couch. Ok, that wasn't that smooth but he could save his intro right here. He bounce up to see a male noodle curl up in a ball crying. Wonderful! He had been right! His ears perk up and he moves closer. "Teak here! Teak is here to help! What's wrong!" he said with a bright smile.

Bath had been so absorbed in his...my angst, that he had not noticed that another noodle had been in the kitchen, despite the sound of the fridge opening and jars being set out. He didn't even notice the coming paw prints until they were near. He looked up towards the oncoming footsteps. Seeing the familiar curve of a wing, it was all he could do to not scream. Instead, all he did was flinch back until his brain caught up with his eyes. One curve of a bat wing. The other wing was a bat wing, too. Safe. His calm was already shattered beyond repair, though, and his tough-guy attitude would not reset itself for a while. When the stranger peered over the couch and valiantly cried out his battlecry, Bath reburied his face in his knees. "Go away," he whispered as loud as he could. His whole frame shook from the dream and from the force of his tears. Reaching down, he grabbed his limp tail and tucked it between his legs.

The "Go Away" was more of "I need you, please save me" in Teak's mind. The more he saw the other male, the more he knew that he had to be save. He had been hurt, bad and anyone in there right mind could tell that. He shook his head and smile. "No! Teak is here to save you! Really. Teak is a superheroin and is only here for you safety!" he said with a bright smile.
That explain everything right, right. In Teak's mind it did. It had to make sense. He was there for only for saving. How could anyone say no to his face. He moved closer to him. "What's wrong?" he said lowly, trying to tap into anything at this point. "Teak is very good at saving other and she will help you too!" he said smiling lightly to him.
He knew that he was going to take his time with him because he was so scare. He knew that when people where hurt like this it was mental and not physically which took loner. He frown because he knew this wasn't going to be a quick job.

Super-heroine? It was almost funny enough to snap Bath out of it. He probably would have laughed if he weren't so upset. Right now, though, he was tired and he was scared and he was feeling violated and he just wanted to be alone without a weirdo shouting near him. Without looking at the other noodle, he scooted a little way away, hoping that this would send a clear signal of "please leave me alone" to the stranger.
He didn't seem so bad, though. He wasn't hurting him. He would have been touching him all over by now. That's what someone who wanted to harm him would do, wouldn't they? Bath wasn't so sure. But the stranger--Teak?--was reminding him of someone else he used to know. She used to talk like that when they were kids, didn't she, when they used to play? And she'd always given him a sympathetic ear and a shoulder to cry on when he'd needed one. He needed one right now. He felt so scared and vulnerable that he just needed someone to make him feel safe. "I, I..." he stammered. He couldn't say it. He couldn't say anything.

And there was Teak moving, with him. He wasn't going to get rid of him that easily. Really, what a superheroin be if she left the victim now. How silly this boy was. He almost laugh but cover fast with a paw. He knew with people like this it wasn't good to laugh. Never good to laugh. He lift off his paw only to smile at him. Teak knew two things, One he was a superheroin and Two he was a girl and this mixture added to the best noodle ever, Teak! He was a crime fighting/saving machine and that's what he was going to do with this guy.
Com' on! Com'on! Gah! He was right there. He was going to speak and Teak knew it. He frown and looked off. He wasn't sure what t do right now, but he knew to wait. That was the best thing to do with noodles like this offer support and wait. "It's ok, Teak's here to help! Only to help because she is a superheroin! See" He said lightly floating up and down to prove his point. This would help right, probably not but it made sense in the red noodle's mind. He sat back down and smile brightly at him. "Teak is here to help" he said once again to make sure he could hear him.

It was a mantra. It was a mantra, repeated over and over and over and over and over and over and over until it was almost soothing and Bath longed to hear it over and over and over in his ears. Static. White noise. The audible version of rocking back and forth. The momentum of the words was soothing. Teak is here to help. Teak is here to help. Teak is here to help... "I'm having bad dreams, Teak," he whispered, almost hypnotized by Teak's words. "I can't make them stop. He's...he's haunting me. No, he's following me. He's following me, and he won't let me go." He couldn't go on. That had taken all of the willpower he had. Bath took a deep, ragged breath for the sobs to shake back out of him. Maybe some part of him just wanted to hear that incessant chant again. He didn't look at her--him. Teak. He didn't look at Teak. There wasn't a need to. Besides, he didn't want anyone to see his eyes. Not that the whites were all bloodshot from the salty tears, but those goddess-damned irises that had brought so much trouble in the first place. He didn't want anyone to see them. His eyelids were squeezed shut and buried against his kneecap so that they couldn't wreak more damage.
"And when your eyes sparkle with tears"--No! A tiny shriek escaped from his throat and he rocked back and forth more violently.

And there it was the little opening that Teak hoped for. His words had worked. He knew with noodles like these they just needed to know someone was there to help them. He nodded, as if he was analyzing all the words that was being dumped on him. He frown, this noodle must of really hurt him. Of course, he would pay. Teak would kick his butt, but he knew he had to save that for later, right no he had to save this noodle. "Teak is here. Don't worry about him. Actually that thing. Just think about Teak, being here to help. That thing is gone. Forever, Teak is here to help." he said as soothing as possible.
Yep, Teak knew what to do. He had been training all his life for things life this. If he wanted to be the best superheroine in the world then he had to know. Anything that pop up Teak, had to know and to be ready. If anyone knew what to do here it was Teak. He smiled again. "Teak his hear to help! won't you look up. Get Teak in the mind and forget out that thing." he said almost cooing. He knew that if he had something to distracted with then that would be the best thing.

But he wouldn't go away. That was the problem. He would never go away. He would never be gone forever. Teak didn't understand that. Bath couldn't find the words to explain that. His trembling only increased until his teeth chattered together in discomfort. No one could help him. The fact yawned beneath him, a chasm of despair that threatened to suck him into the darkened depths. Teak couldn't help him. There was no way she--he--could help him.
But his soothing voice had helped him once before. His voice had drawn out the pain until it could be said. Such a voice almost got Bath to raise his head--but at the last minute, he realized what he was hearing. A seductive coo. Of course, that bitter voice that had been silenced for now said. No one helps anyone else unless they can get something out of it, and you're such s**t that there's only one thing anyone would ever want out of you, Batholith. "I have to go," he whispered. With that, he abruptly stood up, shielding his eyes so that Teak couldn't see them, and he started walking briskly for the door on legs that were still weak from fear.

Teak notice that he was getting worst and panic. He wasn't sure what to do. There was only so much a superheroine could do in times like these. He frown and looked down. This poor male, he had to gone through a lot if he was like this.
And that was it! Teak had his lead. The male spoke of fear when he had heard his coo. That must of meant that he was sexuality abuse. Teak almost clapped his hands in excitement, but only stop because of the harm victim. He knew what he was dealing with, which made it a lot easier. He knew he must of been rape, many of times if he was like this. So there was two things he knew to do, Never touch this male with out his ok and to never refer to anything that might make him think Teak was coming on to him sexually. Brilliant! He loved when things worked out his way, it even almost brought a smile to his face.
He panic as the mother male moves and swiftly beat him to the door. "No Teak, will not let you go in this state! You must sit. Teak is here to help, not to left you go crying. Teak is a superheroine and this would go against everything she knows to let you go. Now just calm done, please. It will be better because Teak is here to help" he said in a soft calm voice. He gave him a small smile even if he knew that the other male wouldn't be able to see it.

Trapped! Teak stood between Bath and escape. The bitter voice that had been awoken a few seconds earlier was muttering something about how silly he would feel later, but for now, pain and panic were running his thoughts and motions. Bath backed up, staring at the bright red stranger in panic. Who was he? (Definitely a he, the ears were wrong for a female.) Why was he doing this? Why was he speaking in the third person? Wide-eyed in fear, Bath didn't notice where he was going and ended up backing into the same coffee table he had fought his twin on a few days earlier. With a whump and a pain in the back of his knees, he fell flat on his back. Only energy born of desperation rolled him off the table and onto his four paws. It was only slightly less better than lying on his back. He scrambled to get on his back paws, looking around to see where Teak had gotten to.

He had open his eye, which was good but it was also bad because that was also a sign of panic which was bad. Teak couldn't get a break could he. He sighed and frown for just a bit until the other male started to move backward. He started to fail his arms around. "Wait! Wait! Careful you're going to ru-" he shouted before it was too late. He knew it was a bit useless not to even try and help the male back up as he would find his way eventually and as thought this he did. Teak sigh once more. Hard was a understatement with this one, it was going to be very hard.
Smiling he moved a bit closer. "Sorry, to frighten you! Teak just didn't want you to leave in the state that your in. Which is not healthy at this time of night." he said smiling brightly. He moved to the couch and lightly patted it. "Won't you come back over here and sit. Teak is here to help and you can talk to Teak while sitting. You'll feel better." he said, hoping it would work.
He had to get this other male to calm down or there would be no way that he would be able to save him tonight. "Come on! Teak is here only to help, not to hurt." He said. He had forgotten to mention this. Number one rule in superheron-ing you had to mention you wasn't going to hurt them and he had forgot to say this until now. He patted the couch again. He hoped the other would listen he didn't even have to sit where he was patting, just to sit.

Bath took a few deep breaths, his eyes closing again as he tried to find that bitter voice. He needed reality. He needed calm, even if it was a bad-tempered calm that got him in fights. In the mean time...well, he was armed, wasn't he? And if he was fast enough, he might be able to, what was the phrase, "ward off unwanted advances"? Slowly, moving carefully around the coffee table, Bath took up a position on the arm of the couch opposite Teak. He watched the other male's movements carefully, wanting to know what he might do before he did it.
He couldn't find that bitter voice in his head. He wouldn't be calm, not completely until he had gotten some sleep, some real sleep, without the...the dreams. "It doesn't matter what time it is," Bath croaked. "And, no offense, but right now, I don't believe you or anyone else who says they're not going to hurt me." He was still breathing heavily from the previous panic. He wiped his eyes again on his hand, resisting the urge to bury his face in his hands. "Just...just don't come near me, okay?" he added.

Great! He had listen. Teak smiled in pleasure, he was a good superheroine. This was going to be easy, well if he just listen to him all the time. He hoped, or this would be a hard job, very hard job. Smiling, he inch over just a bit. He had to be careful. If he moved to close he knew the other male would hop up and leave and that just couldn't happen right now. This male needed him the most.
Teak frown as the other spoke. "Yes it very much does! You could get hurt or get lost or other things, LOTS of things! And Teak isn't going just stand her and not help. She is going to save you, just you wait." he finish with a smile. He frown as the other male finish his thought. He knew this was going to be hard, noodles like him don't trust anymore and that's the hardest thing to cure. "Fine but let Teak tell you she is going to show you that she is here for good and nothing else. Teak must save you!" he said with a cute giggle and smile. It was all true. He only came in to save and help and that was exactly what he was going to do. He frown once again, "But but but you're crying!" he said failing his arms. He hated when someone cried it was the worst thing and broke his little heart. Before he knew it, his own self was tearing up a bit because of the sad sight of this hurt noodle. Sniffing he said, "Teak's really only here to help. Please let her."

Ever so slowly, Teak moved a fraction closer. Immediately, Bath put his paw to the place in his tail where he kept a knife. He was still so rattled that he made no attempt to hide the movement. Let him see the movement. Bath took another deep breath and wiped his eyes again. He was still crying. He couldn't help it. I used to be able to get over this. Why can't I anymore? What's wrong with me? When did I change so much that I can't get over a bad dream?
Just thinking about the dream made him remember the touch, the feel, the grip--Stop it, he told himself firmly as his whole body shuddered. He tried to concentrate on Teak. Yes. Concentrate on the strange noodle who thought he was a heroine in some sort of comicbook. What do heroes do? he wondered. He couldn't remember reading comicbooks since he was a very young kit. What could a heroine do to help someone like me? I'm more like the mook a heroine would beat up to get at her arch-nemesis in some fanservice-laden climax with two full-page spreads.
"I don't know what you can do to help," he whispered. "There's nothing you can do to help me, Teak." It's not your fault.
