This is a comedic, investigation PRP, primarily themed and inspired by L.A. Noire, by RockStar games.

From the perspective of the average soul, the Soul Society is a quiet, peaceful plane of existence to spend their afterlife. But for those on the inside of the dark underbelly, it's a perpetual nightmare. Very few have the power of justice, to guide them through this maze of chaos, and apprehend evil-doers. These peoples are, the men and women of Squad Nine; keeping drug lords and rapists behind the cold, dank, cells of the Gotei Thirteen.

Our hero, Takezo, is an audacious and troublesome cop. The typical routine of the average cop, is to investigate, collect a list of suspects, and interrogate and evaluate their information. Takezo however, chooses often to accuse the nearest person with the slightest flaw in their testimony. Usually ending in the individual being offended and putting a temporary halt on his investigation. When it comes to putting together what facts they've collected, Takezo's assumptions are wild, and often inconclusive or flat out incorrect.

His sidekick is a rookie cop by the name of Midori. Detached and dreamy, one wonders how the hell she became a cop in the first place. Her investigative skills are simply quite useless, as she is often making wild assumptions about any item she examines, with her most of ideas not even relating to the case at hand. These traits alone usually don't help the investigations she has taken part in, not to mention her personality disorder often has her cleaning up crime scenes rather than investigating them.

Detectives:
Munenori, Takezo
Ume, Midori

Standing in front of the notice board, the rambunctious Squad Nine Lieutenant read the announcement board with disgust. "How do I get stuck with something as stupid as arson? What's to investigate? Some a*****e burned down a building, and how can there really be ANY evidence left behind? Everything is ********' burnt!" The problem wasn't that Takezo was always stuck with arson, it's that he isn't trusted with homicide cases. The last homicide case he had taken was back when he had just been promoted to Lieutenant, and everything went well until he had almost added to the body count. During the investigation, Takezo got the wild idea that if he turned in a bunch of people who were known for violence, and scared them so s**t-less that they would confess to the crime just so they wouldn't have to be beaten mercilessly, that he could close a case and go back to skirt chasing. However it was painfully obvious that he was slacking, since the perp came in and confessed the incident as manslaughter. Since then, he hasn't been trusted with dead bodies. Reading further down, he saw that his partner was Ume Midori, a relatively new member to the squad. He hadn't interacted with her much; simply because he was too busy chasing the asses that obstructed hers. In fact, he couldn't even remember a damned thing about the woman.

U M E x M I D O R I

A young woman approached the announcement board eagerly, stepping lightly around a man that had been reading the board before she arrived. Before she even began looking for her assignment, she stared at the board as a whole, eventually wincing slightly. Everything was off. With a few minor spacing adjustments and better formatting, the whole announcement board could be completely symmetrical. She closed her eyes and nodded to herself a few times as she fixed the board in her head then finally commenced looking for her own name and assignment.

The woman bent her knees and inched closer to the board. "Hmmm," she uttered as she scanned intently, nodding to herself for no reason. Her eyes eventually fell upon her name. Well, sort of her name. "Um?" The woman said. She straightened up and turned around, looking puzzled. "Um." She said again to no one in particular. The board misspelled her name. 'Um, Midori.' Realizing her strange behavior, she glanced at the man that was standing in front of the board before turning to look at her name again. "Um Midori," she said aloud this time, "what a funny name." She smiled softly to herself as she reached into her pocket and withdrew a ball point pen. Midori knelt down and neatly corrected the mistake. So neatly, in fact, that the 'e' she wrote looked to be the same font used to type the page. She nodded, capped the pen, and stood up to admire her work. Laughing silently to herself once more, she turned to the man who was sure to have been watching her strange actions and said in a slow and far off voice, "Um Midori. Isn't that a funny name?"

Instant Loser

The impact of light steps on the old wood floors that held up the crude shinigami were the least of his troubles. This complete asinine reassignment of of his duties had constantly eaten at his confidence. Takezo had a difficult time cracking the case of his demotion. 'I used to catch murderers and then murder them! Explain this bullshit!' Aside from his mental pissing and moaning, the brown and white stub that hung from his mouth became weightless, the embers beginning to inherit the disgusting flavor of the filter... a danger that he didn't even want to tread. A substitute was in order, it was clear now. Removing a new cigarette from the abyss of his robe, shifting his thumb under the clean, fresh filter, flicking the appendage so the wrapped poison flew skyward, and by some sorcery or one-hundred percent accuracy, the tip of the filter landed between Takezo's lower and upper lip. The next segment of the show wasn't quite as spectacular however, a simple movement of a lighter and ignition was enough to suffice. As soon as the tip of the cigarette and flame kissed, Takezo inhaled passionately, leeching off the affection of the couple. It was an affair that would often be condemned, but Takezo didn't give a s**t.
"That is a funny name... your parent's hate you or somethin'?" He chucked, not because he thought the casual joke was funny, but because he wanted to keep his distance from "Um". He didn't really mind having a partner, but he'd rather not have an on-duty witness to how he trolled the individuals who called in these crimes.

To close the deal, Takezo would have to try and scare the girl into complete cooperation. He didn't want anyone telling him what to do or making any long-winded suggested when he was already in a rotten mood. Getting in close, Takezo's pale face came a mere inch away from the side of her face. The close proximity from the two faces was probably annoying enough, but the added smoke would really make it intolerable. "Don't ******** up."
