I wouldn't mind challenging you, but I'd have to figure out the Hamachi thing again....haven't used that since an old friend told me about it forever and a day ago.
Not to mention my skills are probably quite rusty by now xP Damn ye, complacency!
Mind if I call upon you for a little assistance sometime, my good sir? I really would like to test my skills against a human opponent, for once~

Its always nice to fight someone within the ratio of my skills! Its not like Im terribly bad, its just that I'm good/great, but people out there are really difficult to fight

Thanks, man. *bow* It'll be a few days before I can even start thinking about it, though... my job has me scheduled for 5 days straight this week xP At least last night wasn't too bad...one down, four to go~ It'll give me a chance to practice at least, haha.

I don't know how to...y'know...determine myself if I'm good or not..xD Err, oh, if you know the guys at guuchan place....I was only able to be 1 person...since I started playing Hisoutensoku. xD But it's an awesome version of the Touhou series. TF needs to make a newer version now with more characters!

ChineseStriker TF needs to make a newer version now with more characters! Yes, yes! I wanna play as Yuka. And Crazy Koishi from the Adventure videos x3 And Flandre (even though Remilia has a color palette swap for Flan, it's just not the same...) Some Nazrin might be fun, too - bring out the ol Dowsing Rod-Fu. Ooh, and Murasa! .....I could go on. X x;; Oh, and it doesn't matter how good you are, as long as you have fun playing. And, y'know, beating the stuffing outta the other person.

Pray4Answer Oh, and it doesn't matter how good you are, as long as you have fun playing. And, y'know, beating the stuffing outta the other person. Yup. But another problem is probably my internet as the service is so slow. What character(s) or main character(s) you use?

ChineseStriker Yup. But another problem is probably my internet as the service is so slow. What character(s) or main character(s) you use? Meiling is my main. Good speed and power, and her moves flow smoothly from my fingertips~ Other than her, I like using Reiuji, Sakuya, Remilia and Komachi. I'm working on adding Aya and Tenshi to that list, but it's still a WIP xP How about you?

I practice a lot with Meiling, but I still fail. I basically can't play these chain-linking pc games. My input sequences always get messed up. My main characters are Tenshi, Youmu, Remilia.
I just use others just to play around, but pretty much do just the same as my main characters. Hah

Hah What do you use to play, keyboard or a USB controller? If you're having trouble with the keyboard, I suggest the latter as it makes command inputs a lot easier. I use a Wired Xbox 360 controller when I play any Touhou game, but especially the fighter games. However, they're not cheap; they cost about $60, and I don't recommend buying a used one because the cord might be faulty. Also, I wouldn't buy one if you only plan to use it with a couple games - make sure you'll get your money's worth, y'know? Okay, I'm done lecturing. Sorry for wall 'o text xP

Fine with me. Dunno about mods....lol
You did get me in the "only plan to use it with a couple of games". I'm not much of a gamer. Just play Touhou, Combat Arms, and Ace Online. That's basically it. However I want to buy it because I might want to experiment with developing a starfighter 3rd person shooter game.
I use keyboard. Haven't bought a wired 360 controller yet, but I just might do that to play any games. I hate mashing keyboards and it's bad for it too. lol How does it work compare to keyboard? Is it easier?

ChineseStriker How does it work compare to keyboard? Is it easier? Ahh, now that's a slightly difficult question to answer. See, I grew up on console games - Super Nintendo, Dreamcast, PS2 and so on, so using a controller for games when I can is much easier for me. I -can- use keyboards, but if the game is high-paced, like say a platformer, then I'm usually terrible. Now, it sounds like you've mainly used keyboards for your games, so the transition might take some time, but ultimately it will be (IMO) easier for the Touhou fighter games AND, as you mentioned, save your keyboard from wear and tear. If you're still unsure, then I recommend taking a look at the other games you play or plan on getting/making, and see if they are USB controller compatible. Most games these days will support a controller, but you never know for sure. Checking the options menu (and then usually under "Controls/Keyboard Layout" or something similar) for most games is a good way to find out. Whew....man, I hope this helps you, but DAMN do I feel like a nerd for knowing all that xD Oh well. Quick edit: Forgot to mention, but if you DO buy a 360 Wired controller, then it's pretty much a plug and play deal. Plug it in to any USB slot on your computer and it will prompt you to download the software to use the controller. After that's finished downloading, you're free to use it with any game that's compatible. mrgreen

Thanks for the tips. I'm aware of my tech stuff. I was really trying to ask how different playing Hisoutensoku different than playing on pc...control-wise. Specifically, the direction buttons. LS easier than d-pad on kb? Like for example doing 623, it'd be easier than pressing right-down-right? Yeah, I use keyboard only for the games that I play. Don't really play games at all really. Either drawing or college stuff. lol

That'd be my best advice.
