Mmmmmmm, greek food. I like Dolmas (stuffed grapeleaves) and Tzatziki on flat bread or crackers.
Tzatziki is a cucumber dip:

Tzatziki
Skill Level 1

Ease 2

Usual prep time 20 minutes not counting draining the yogurt and chilling the dip

Ingredients

1 1/2 c Strained* yogurt
2 medium Cucumbers
4 lg Garlic cloves (or more) peeled and minced
4 tb Olive oil
A little vinegar
Salt
Directioins
To strain the yogurt, put it in a colander you've lined with a paper towel. Much of the 'water' will drip out. Leave it for an hour or two.
Peel the cucumber, then grate it (on a cheese grater) or chop it finely. Salt it, and squeeze out and discard the liquid. Add to it the garlic. Add the vinegar and yogurt and stir the mixture. Finally, add the oil. If you want, sprinkle with paprika and garnish with olives. Use as a dip with flat bread or crackers.

I love that stuff. They actually put that in their gyros where I go! Super yummy! Thanks for posting it, now I can make it myself ^_^

I have a recipe for Greek Potatoes from New Recipes from Moossewood Resaurant. It never fails to please. It requires having some patience and a chunk of free time. I made it first in 1996 while watching our daughter for an afternoon after pre-school. 1996=a 6 year old daughter. I've also modified it using, usually, more olive oil, Key Lime juice, plenty of garlic, and all the fresh "Greek" herbs I have growing at the time in my herb "garden".

Serves a generous 6

6 medium potatoes, cubed (3 lbs) [I always use red potatoes and sometimes small baby reds without cubing]
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice, about 2 1/2 lemons
1/3 cup vegetable oil [canola]
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons salt [not needed]
1/2 teaspoon blck pepper [ground fresh, if you can]
1 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano [substitute fresh oregano, add a tad of rosemary]
2 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
3 cups HOT water

Toss together potatoes, lemon juice, oils, spices, and garlic in a deep, flat pan about 8x12-inches [corning ware white works great]. Add the water. Bake uncovered for about 1 1/2 hours at 475F. Stir every 20 minutes adding more water if necessary to prevent sticking. Be careful not to burn the potaotes during the last 30 minutes. During the final 15 to 20 minutes, allow water to evaporate until only the oil is left.

Garnish with fresh parsley and serve. [The potaotes should melt in your mouth!]

I love greek food! I really only get it at the occasional festival tho. I really love that rice wrapped in grape leaves, I'll have to try it now that there's a recipe right there.

There is supposed to be a greek restaurant just outside my county. I hope it hasn't gone under cause I'm dying to go visit it. Yummy! <3

I hear dalmathes are good, but I can never get past the leaves. They are too bitter for my taste, but my friends love them!
