The Announcers Sister?

"I shall be taking the Role for this fight, against the will of a certain someone, basically because I wish to do so, as Announcer. So without further adieu, I shall give you the fighting place of which this fight will take place:

The fight will be located in an arena designed after the far western reaches of Linkton forest. It is to be replicated as perfect as possible before the spread of the poison that now plagues the landscape. The fighters will be released on opposite ends, gradually heading inwards towards the center of the forest where a small lake resides. The arena, while dark, is lit by the lights that act like fireflies, floating about and moving as they wish. These lights make hiding in the forest rather difficult, but that really doesn't matter. The time is very early morning, so the main purpose of these lights in the beginning will be to keep the arena alight, but once the sun as came over the horizon the lights will grow dimmer as the sun takes over their job.

There is a small northern stream that runs south into the lake before another stream runs south of the lake. Part of the lake is actually covered in trees, the trees growing up through the water as though it did not hinder them at all. The trees are rather thick up into one breaks free from this, closer to the center of the lake. At its deepest, it is over twenty yards deep. Around the center though, before a sudden drop off, the water is shallow enough to allow one to stand only up to their knees at its worst.

There is a special quality to this... arena though. Every so many minutes something happens in the arena that will drastically affect the surroundings, and possibly harm the combatants. As for what these things are, I can't tell you that or it would ruin the surprise. To finish up the announcements, this fight will be a two on two, Cieven Yaine of Linkton and Darina Rue of Linkton Forest against Jangliba Howevever-you-say-his-last-name the wandering bard and Jing With-no-last-name of Elexair Mountains. You people have weird names... But! BEGIN!" And with this said, Yuka disappears in a puff of smoke.

((Due to the fact that I plan to be surprised by the ever-changing arena, I'm actually leaving my brother to create the changes, so not even I'll know whats going on. I'll try to keep the changes at a sixteen post interval or more. That gives each person about four posts before a change occurs.))

{{Ooc:// I think I could use a new picture for Cieven, but it's not really needed since he won't be in the actual roleplay. Also, I'm going to post first since no one else did >.< Fyi, this is the Cieven that could have been, so the past is a little bit whack.}}
{{Arrow Count: 35}}

Cieven slowly made his way into the forest as he yawned. It was far too early in the morning for him to have any concern for what he was getting himself into. Eliana would probably be furious for his getting involved in an arena fight, but the prospect of the money he could earn from such a fight was more than enough for Cieven to give it a go regardless of the danger. Eliana and Ea could always use a little extra money to get along with, mainly since Cieven spent most of his time traveling. The two barely got to see him as it was, but oh well. At least he sent back money when he could. He had made a rather odd decision, as seen in the partner who followed him in for this duel fight. It was not Ode he was fighting alongside, but rather a young woman named Darina Rue.

Ode was actually watching the fight like anyone interested in the fight, though Cieven had took a good deal of time to explain everything would be all right. Cieven checked his weapons on his body for the third time, making sure he had memorized the locations. He carried his bow in his hand, the quiver slung over his shoulder. At his left hip hung his sword, and at his lower back rested the two daggers, Luna and Sol. He looked like he was armed for a war, and yet none of what he carried weighed very much. Cieven did not carry much armor as some fighters did, instead he relied more on speed than armor to keep him safe. It wasn't really speed though that saved him, it was skill in dodging. Still, Cieven had scars for instances where he wasn't so successful in staying out of harms way.

"Well, at least it's pretty, right?" Cieven called back to Darina as he cast his eyes over the place. It looked so peaceful, but Cieven knew better. His necklace glowed faintly for a moment before fading away as Cieven started into the forest, expecting Darina to follow him. The sun would be coming up soon, and Cieven planned to get a good idea of their area using the whips of light before running into their opposition. This was a forested region, and Cieven had lived in Linkton for a long time so he figured he had least held that to an advantage. Plus, how could he really complain? This placed looked almost exactly like Linkton forest, so perhaps that was where its design came from. Cieven planned to figure out.

Calmly before the small fire Jang sat, nudging a few embers with a stick. He sat there calmly as though nothing unusual about today was happening at all. His face had it's normal Jangliba smile and his eyes stared off into the distance while he asked Jing some pointless questions. "What do you suppose clouds would tase like if they were made out of candy?" For example. Jang saw as Jing tensed up after this question however, so he stood and dusted himself off. "You know, if you don't want to be here we could always just turn around." Again he flashed that smile of his, the one that would make you think walking barefoot into hell might not be a bad idea. He chuckled lightly, and waved his hand over the embers of the fire sucking the oxygen away from the area and so the coals went black then gray. Jangliba was hardly considered a fighter by any standard, not anymore at least. But as anyone could tell, taking this bard lightly would be a mistake. He eyed his companion and suggested they move from where they had camped the previous night. Both he and Jing had a solid advantage over Cieven and Dara, names neither of them knew, Jing and Jang could move noiselessly through the underbrush. This allowes them to disappear like ghosts.

Rina glanced around, this was a familliar arena. She had lived in a place very much like this arena for several years of her life. Yet the aura it left as she walked was dangerous. This forest looked so much like the Linkton forest that it left a sour feeling in the pit of her stomach.

"Right...it's interesting..." She didn't feel like talking. She wanted to get this fight over with. She felt her sword on her hip, the weight of it there gave her comfort. A preparation for battle in her mind. She looked at her partner, he looked like a competent companion. More importantly, he looked fast. Rina couldn't stand slowness in battle.

Rina looked around the forest once again, she knew the special quality of this arena. The unpredictable ever-changing arena slightly worried her. Rina hated things that she could not predict. She considered herself mostly unpredictable, although her father had claimed with her rash decision making that he could see every move she was going to make. Rina always thought he was trying to train her out of her impatience. Unfortunetly, he had failed, and she was just as impatient as she had always been. Which is why her hands began to slightly sweat, she wanted this over with...she would never admit it but the whole situation made her nervous.

Jing of the Ellian Mountains

Seated only a short distance away from Jang with her back to the fire and eyes closed so she had a calm expression, Jing was playing the ocarina Jang had made for her. The tune she played was simple enough, being slow, but was soothing. It helped Jing to focus her mind and prepare for the fight that they were about to take part in. Not that I need to prepare. She thought, opening her eyes and staring down at the grass and earth, barely missing a beat.

While playing, she listened in to Jang's comments and questions. On occasion she answered, but more often than not she just smiled and nodded her head. If it seemed as if she had tensed, it was because she had to pull herself away from the ocarina to answer; which she did. Something sweet, and soft. She said, imagining trying to bite into a cloud. She imagined that it would be much the same as Cotton Candy, but Lykourgos' memories seemed to disagree. "Try that and you'll just get wet." Lykourgos commented absently, like an old man musing before fire with a pipe in his hand. Jing didn't bother to convey what he said to Jang.

I know. She replied, taking the ocarina away from her face and resting it on her lap as she looked into the forest. At her side, resting against the moss covered log Jing sat upon, was her kanabo. She turned her head slightly to examine it, wondering how it would feel to use it in combat here. Swordsmen. She thought, looking back up to stare at the forest. They'll be fast. This was probably a battle that Lykourgos would be better suited for, a twin pair of knifes hidden away in case the two had the change places. Yet this was a fight she had accept, and seeing as she was already paired with Jang she would try to resist relying on her father.

Sighing, she brought the ocarina back up to her lips and continued to play. The forest was said to change, or so she was informed, and when or how was unknown to her. As of now it seemed as if Jang and her were waiting for the two to find them. That being the case, Jing had a second reason for playing the ocarina. To guide their opponents to them. "A foolish thing to do," Lykourgos sighed, "Without even setting up a trap. You are practically inviting an attack." Internally Jing agreed, but said nothing. Surprise attack or not, she had confidence that she and Jang could handle anything. They, with Kaiden's help, had come out of more than one preemptive attacks in their travels.

His partner was lame. Cieven glanced back at her as she spoke a simple response to him, but also gave the impression she didn't feel like speaking. This was... bothersome. How was he supposed to work with someone who didn't want to at least talk to him. "Fine." Cieven responded as he turned forward and continued. He had no clue where he was headed, but it wasn't like he could get lost, right? Actually... about that. As comfortable as Cieven was in the forest, he doubted he was just going to keep track of everything. It was a forest after all, and he had no map or structures to go off of to keep himself from going in circles. It was just going to have to be a game of guessing then!

"Hurry up! I want to find them while it's still dark. Running into them in daylight wouldn't not be helpful." That much was true. If they ran into them during daylight that would allow the pair to ambush them, that is unless they too were just wandering around. There was also the fact that Cieven trusted in his ability to move through the forest like a wrath, silent as the air that flowed through the woods. He wasn't, of course, that good. Cieven may have been raised in a city of elves, but even they couldn't fix the natural fact that Cieven's people weren't really meant for land.

It did not take long for Cieven to wander his way into a bog, or rather what he thought was a bog. Cieven had no clue where their opponents had entered from, or if they had already been in the arena. It really didn't matter much to him, so long as he got payed. This bog like area was an annoyance though as Cieven nearly stumbled into it. Even though water was a friend to him, that didn't make it anymore comfortable to be walking around in wet boots. Cieven turned his attention about the sudden water before frowning as he started sideways, circling. He had no intentions of randomly running through a bog. That was a good way to get sick, and he had no idea how long this fight could go on for.

"You still following? Watch out for the water." Cieven called back for Darina as he continued on his way. He didn't know if she was too keen on wading through a bog either, and in all honesty he didn't care. If she wanted to go running through the water like a school girl, more power to her. It would give something for Cieven to laugh about at least. It was doubtful that she would do something like that though. Darina seemed... impatient at best.

Jang
▂▃▅▆█ Jangliba J. Jamblaladunebury III █▆▅▃▂

User Image

Utilising his particular talents with sound, Jang and jing could clearly and distictly hear the slight rustlking of footsteps as their opponents headed... away from them. Jang held back a mirthful chuortle before turning to his two in one body companion. "I like that song you're playing. May I join you?" And without actually waiting for an answer Jang summoned his lyre and strummed out a few test notes. Loud, test notes. And it wasn't long before the bard was doing what came naturally. the camp area had been cleared enough the night before to allow Jang to mirthfully prance around. He wordlessly encouraged Jing to dance as well in his usual way of dancing closer to her then backing away until she would get the hint. He even started to sing, an old elven song he'd heard at one of the forest festivals. Roughly translated it went something like this.
"Here I sta-and tall, before you.
With colors of the fo-rest skies.
When the hills filled with life,
breath on your soul.
This is when we are a-live.
Here a-midst this ver-dent forest.
here among streams, and trees,
This is where all life is wanted.
Here is where the life breathes---."

Jang had taght this song to Jing a few trips back and would normally stop at this pont for his partner to take the second verse, this song was normally sung as a duet after all. Jang didn't appear to be paying any mind to his surroundings, but when did he ever seem to be?

Jing of the Ellian Mountains

Jing closed her eyes as the combined magic, as there was no better way to put it for Jing, washed over Jing as Jang sang and her ocarina played in sync. She had stood to join Jang, continuing to play even as she danced. She was amused, finding Jang's efforts wasted as it took little to convince Jing to join in when there was dancing to do these days. Her expression was that of a happy woman, and it was only when Jang stopped playing did the expression die down and her eyes opened to glare at Jang. Wordlessly demanding him to continue with his singing. At this point she had forgotten just why they were there, and who they were waiting for...

Lykourgos on the other hand was musing away, wondering just how long it would take for Jing and Jang's opponents to find them what with all of the noise they were making. Foolish children. He thought, although he couldn't really consider Jang a child, even with his own age considered, after all he had learned about Jang. Well, perhaps he won't make any mistakes. Perhaps, although from what he was seeing he doubted that Jang was any more aware of what was around him at this moment as Jing. Fools the both of them.

She sped up, her eyes wearily to the inner woods, almost waiting for someone to appear or something to happen. She sighed as she stepped on another stick. Rina was nimble, she had been taught to move very quickly. However, she was not good at staying perfectly silent when moving at fast speeds in an unfamilliar forest. She felt as though she were following behind someone who ran blindly, not paying much attention to where he was heading. However, what other choice did she have? It was much like her own personality anyways, why did she care so much now?

They wandered to a bog-like area, she barely kept herself from falling into it. Which was good, she hated water. The mud around the area wasn't helpful either, it had almost soaked through her cloth shoes. She looked at him then back to the bog. Where were they going anyways? Rina wondered if the bog could be used strategically. She couldn't see how...so she shook it out of her head. She never was much of a strategic mind anyways.

"Do you at least have a plan?" She asked him, as if he could hear her thoughts about strategy, she was certain after she said it that Cieven would look at her oddly and wonder why she asked. But Rina figured it was a good question, what was his plan of attack? That was all she cared about. Attack.

Well it turned out the young woman was indeed following him! And unlike himself, she appeared to not be so skilled at avoiding water. Cieven stopped mid step at one point as he picked up a melody, closing his eyes as he realized what the sound was. Their opponents were trying to draw them in... with song? What an odd thing to do. Cieven turned to face his partner slowly before pausing in thought. "No..." Cieven said lightly as he started back the way they had come, in the direction of the music. He really didn't have a plan... yet. "Circle around to the right, I'm going to take the left. Try not to walk straight into their camp." Cieven said as he waved his hand back at Darina, and without any more warning, Cieven took off to the left, near silently moving away. He had been trained by elves to be a archer, and with them came their grace in movement... sometimes.

Cieven didn't know if Darina understood what he had said, but he didn't really care. She would know when to attack when things got crazy, which would likely happen quickly. As Cieven walked, he pulled an arrow from his quiver and readied his bow before pulling said arrow to the bow. He figured he might as well try to do as he had been taught, if that was possible. There was a good reason as to why Cieven had taken the left path though, it had been the more water laden path. Cieven and water mixed quite well. Which brought him back to his currently point.

Cieven had taken to the trees as soon as the music playing had gotten distinguishable. The only problem with this was that Cieven had to go much, much slower. What was more concerning was the fact that Cieven could see light streaming through the forest at different intervals now. The lights that had once been floating around like will-o-the-wisps were slowly dissolving away as the light filtered into the trees. It was the same sight that Cieven had seen many times in Linkton, minus the willothewisp lights of course. Cieven slowly came to a stop on the edge of a tree as he focused into the distance, catching the sight of a fire. He was getting close, so now the question was: where was Darina, and had their pray noticed their advance?

"The Announcer"
Coming soon to an arena near you!

User Image
Ladies and gentlemen! It is with great pleasure that I am proud to announce that this match will between Vaaaaaaylinnnnn STAVEN! And Liam, who... is well... Liam. The field of his particular match was quite a conundrum for our boys in the designing room to put together, and quite frankly none of us were sure that it was even possible to complete! But it has been, and it is with great pleasure that I reveal the first Super Arena to grace Last Dreams halls!

Judgment of Heaven

In this arena, the two combatants will start off in the center of the field, in the large temple present here in this photo. They will start off a twenty meter diameter platform atop the temple. In the center of the platform is a single hole, approximately five meters in diameter, that leads to a second, larger sized platform beneath with support beams set in equal distances from each other. There is another hole, however, set exactly beneath the first, the same size, and below this platform another exactly like the one above, but larger yet. Once the third platform is reached , however, the combatants may notice that a set of stairs is revealed, and upon going down the stairs they will have access to the rest of the fiend.

Outside the temple, which will not be the place to remain I can assure you all of that, are a number of scatter floating islands, with trees, shrines, and various other constructions set to make this field a little more unique. Should one happen to fall or be knocked off of the islands, they will land below in a pond that has been made for the safety of the combatants, but what is unique is that once they have been submerged completely in the pond they will start back on the top platform of the temple once more.

Now, what is that horrifying raging storm in the background, and why does it seem to be focused on the main temple? Simple. Every five posts, a vaporizing blast of lightning will strike the platform. For the first post the platform will be normal. By the second, wind will begin blowing through the platforms. By the third, gales, and suddenly rain will begin pouring down on the contestants, or even dripping down on them through specially made cracks within them to allow for the drainage of water (making them slippery). By the fourth post, th platforms will be hit with howling wind that will spin and threaten to beat them around. By the fifth, that bolt of energy will strike, and the platforms, wet from rain and wind, will conduct that energy and vaporize any poor soul within. That said, it is highly advised that by the fifth post of the start of the fighting that you make your ways as far away from the temple as possible. For there, only death awaits.

Gentlemen, and ladies. This, is Heaven's Judgment.

The ambient sounds of rushing water and the constant rumbling of thunder could be heard echoing across this mysterious landscape. Forgotten by time and tied on the cusp of oblivion floated this mysterious place. The very existence of it defied the laws of physics, gravity, and even reality. Thick rolling clouds circled this forbidden island, similar to sharks circling prey before closing in for the kill. Lightning flashed and spread like wicked hands reaching for the next cloud. From the many islands suspended in air, cascaded waterfalls that fed into the infinite pond below. The focus point however was a towering temple that rested directly below numerous rings of grey. Atop this temple stood a lone figure gazing up at the flashing sky. His clothes were elaborate in design and his blond hair flowed on the wind's constant breath.

Interestingly however, while his irises were red the normal whites of his eyes were black as night. This was a man who had no right to be, an abomination crafted by accursed hands to serve the wishes of darkness. Comprised of simple components, a legion of souls not his own, and seals granting him magical ability this man was a homunculus. His presence alone seemed to throw off the balance between elements creating minor distortions for moments at a time. Liam. It was the name given to this destructive husk. He lacked a soul of his own so could feel nothing by the void within himself. Truly..a horrid creature.

Liam's orbs were lost in the visual spectacle of watching lighting every which way. Beautiful as it was, the lighting vanished in an instant leaving only faint glows before the next followed suit. While standing idle wisps from departed from within him and floated abut is body on predetermined paths leaving trails of light.

"The Falling Light"

I thought that time stood still
Sheltered, Protected.
They never told me that this would end,
And that the leaves would fall again.

≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎

{{Ooc:// From now until the moment you die }}
{{Light Sprites: 4 }}

Water. He could see it everywhere, and with the howling wind... well it was safe to see why the man stood firm in his location as the wind started to pick up around them. They had both just been placed on the platform, a good distance between the two. That wasn't what had the mans attention though. No, his eyes were watching the lightning strikes around them. Even if they could fly from this platform, that didn't make them much safer. If they got hit with lightning while in the air, it would be over. And, with the frequency of the lightning the higher one went... well it would be death to go up high at all unless you were insane. Then again... White wings stretched out on the mans back as he held his ground firmly, the wind threatening to pick him up even though it was still gentle. It was gradually picking up though, and Vaylin had, literally, not intentions of hanging around this place.

There was a snap as Vaylin brought his hand up to the clip holding his cloak together. With that one motion, the cloak went flying away in the wind, leaving Vaylin's weapon finally exposed as four little orbs of light started floating around him. What were they? What did they do? It was good question. In his right hand rested a spear, a chain tassel attached to the end of it that curled around his back and was wrapped, slightly around his left arm. The spear itself was odd, being a snow white except for the blade at the end of the spear, which looked to be made out of crystal. Vaylin held the weapon loosely in his hand as he turned his attention to his opponent. Vaylin himself wore, from first glance, almost no armor. He appeared to be wearing light chainmail, but at best that seemed it. He could see the alterations about his foe as reality tried to reject it. Not just that though, he could feel both the life and death in the creature. Vaylin muttered something under his breath as he held out his spear, pointing it directly at Liam. "My name is Vaylin Stavin, the falling light of the Shekinah. Let's go." His voice wasn't arrogant, but it was strong. He had no fear of what he was watching. Gently the little orbs of light shifted around Vaylin as if obeying his command to get ready to fight.

"I am the gate between life and death."

He spoke those words aloud, but the very way he said them had power. No doubt Liam would see the orbs around Vaylin flicker at the words as if they held more power than one could initially imagine from them. Was that an arrogant phrase, or was there a reason he had chosen those words? Without anymore hesitation, regardless of if Liam spoke his name or not, Vaylin took a step back and dove from the platform, remembering the announcers words upon their introduction to the arena. Fighting on this platform would get him killed, regardless. He had to move somewhere else. There was only one way he could see to use this platform logically, and that involved a lot of trickery. Regardless, as he fell, his wings snapped open and caught the air, pulling Vaylin away from the center temple quickly. Staying around on this thing wasn't part of Vaylin's plan.

Vaylin landed on one of the nearby Islands easily, turning to watch for his opponent, his senses clearing out around him as he waited. As his foe gave so much presence of life and death, it would be easy to track his movements. It was, most likely, clear now why Vaylin wore only light armor. He couldn't fly with heavy armor, no Angels could. It was a fact that anyone who had wings knew well. He let his wings fold neatly behind his back as he held his weapon loosely in his hands. The four orbs that had originally been floating around him had followed him, now floating about in the air at random, each varying distances. The orbs themselves seemed harmless, but what could be said about the man who used them..?

((Song of the moment: Blood and Darkness ))

"My grief lies all within and these external manners of lament are merely shadows to the unseen grief that swells with silence in the tortured soul " ═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

Liam was quiet; he has not ignored Vaylin in the least at all. His gaze shifted as he watchds the man prepare himself for battle. What surprised him however the relevance of his angelic wings. Liam had never witness such a thing before thus was awe stricken. Vaylin's armor was light and his weapon was interesting. It would seem the two of them were fated to do battle beneath heaven's gaze.

Then, Vaylin revealed his identity. Shekinah. That word resonated with Liam. His father, Delfian, had told him about the Shekinah and how they were to be wiped out. Suddenly the look in Liam's eyes changed drastically. In place of his previous wonder, there was replaced with a stern cold stare in his eyes. The gate of between life and death? How interesting. Vaylin took flight on the winds breath and landed on a nearby island suspended in the air. Liam had followed him and now stared at him assessing his opponent.

Suddenly the homunculus fell back, as if fainting, but his body pulsed with a distortion to the area around him. Darkness reached up hungrily and snatched him into its depths. The world in this parallel was shrouded in darkness. Liam's own form was featureless save for his glowing white eyes. The lighting above shot down in streaks of white as well. He shot his gaze to where Vaylin stood. The figure was bathed in light within this darkened parallel. Liam's eyes narrowed and his body swiftly shot through the darkness to Vaylin. Liam stood straight in the abyss as the darkness pushed him up from under his feet. The ground behind Vaylin would begin to distort as a dark corridor opened spewing forth a black fog.

"Vaylin Stavin" Liam finally spoke in a foreboding tone, "The Shekinah are nothing more than children whom have yet to embrace oblivion. My father knew this..thus I was born." Liam began to emerge from the pool of darkness head first followed by shoulders. "You claim yourself to be the falling light of the Shekinah. You are correct in this, for this day..you shall fall." Liam's upper torso was next to follow. "You say that you are the gate between life and death..so allow me to introduce myself." Liam was just about fully emerged as he continued. "I am the bane of reality, he who's should not exist, and the world's enemy." Liam stood still as the distortion around his form had become more apparent with his growing hostility.

"I am he who belongs to neither life nor death! I am Liam" he announced as he pulled back his right hand and out of darkness formed a slender black saber. "The end has come.." with the flashing of another lightning bolt Liam was upon Vaylin. He unleashed a surprising onslaught, swinging in precise strikes attempting to drown his blade into Vaylin's vitals. All the while the sky had become more active as rain fell completing the scene of battle.

Vaylin Stavin
"The Falling Light"

I thought that time stood still
Sheltered, Protected.
They never told me that this would end,
And that the leaves would fall again.

He saw the hate, felt the rage, and understood all to well. What he was fighting was a true enemy. That meant no playing, no messing around. If this was a fight, it was going to be to the death, from what he saw. They had separated though, the strange man staying on the platform and watching Vaylin retreat. He was strange in that he left Vaylin get all the way away, watching him go, staring coldly. Vaylin spun his strange crystal like spear in his hand as he watched the man, his indigo eyes showing almost no emotion. And then, he was gone. Vaylin watched as the man disappeared into darkness, Vaylin closing his eyes as he held out Heaven's Creation. The spear seemed to be drawing in energy from the air around him. What was the purpose though? Two more light orbs joined the air around him, making the total six. He seemed so relaxed, even as the portal opened behind him. Instead of panicking, Vaylin spun his weapon loosely in his hand, the chain shifting as he did so. He slowly turned.

And the man rose, saying Vaylin's full name and even spoke of the Shekinah. Vaylin's eyes narrowed slightly as he glared at Liam. "Huh, what a useless life." Vaylin was insulting Liam, even as Liam continued. The changed was drastic, Vaylin's entire persona going colder as he held his weapon. "Then your fate was sealed the moment you chose to fight against Heaven's Creation." That was in response to Liam saying he was the worlds enemy. The chain around Vaylin's arm grew taunt as he snapped the spear sideways and into both hands, holding it firmly. Something was off. There was a lot of energy leaving Vaylin's body, and by a lot it was enough that no one would miss it.

"Never flowing full of life,
Nor falling fully to death."

Two more lines of a poem. How strange, why was he reciting something as he fought? Liam had announced his name by this point, and had even grabbed his weapon, charging Vaylin in the next second. There was no way that Vaylin could have been prepared, and yet even in those odds... in the blur that occurred as Liam struck, a white blur became apparent as Vaylin swung Heaven's Creation inward. Many would say that no spearman would try to fight up close, and yet just by how Vaylin shifted his weapon to block Liam's close range attack showed he knew what he was doing. Two blows were blocked in a blur, Vaylin back stepping without hesitation. Liam was fast, faster than Vaylin could hope to keep up. And then, there was a flash. It came from one of the orbs of light, the orb turning into a sword of light, flying at Liam without warning. It was coming in from the side, aiming to flank him as he swung the third time, Vaylin snapping his spear in to block it, his eyes focused on his enemy. And then...

"Reginlief!" There was no more warning as Heaven's Creation, the spear, snapped in, another orb of light flying to the weapon in an instant. It was an explosion, though weaker than Vaylin's normal reginlief. He simply didn't have time for the full attack. He went for a quick version, the light energy on the spear suddenly exploding as Vaylin swung, throwing Vaylin back, the male sliding as he spun his spear, already falling back into a ready position. How was he so fast with his ranged weapon? It wasn't like he was overly fast, he was just trying to match Liam where he could, and when he couldn't... make space. That was his strategy. It seemed to be keeping him sound and safe thus far.

By this point, the rain had started to fall, the wind picking up a bit. Still, Vaylin and Liam hardly seemed hindered by the rain so far. They were both holding up well.
