History: Syvana had always been a handful. Raised in Eura Hold, it quickly became apparent that as soon as she was old enough to run, she was going to have to be entertained somehow. Her mother and father were both doting, loving parents to their single daughter, though it was clear that it would be their two brothers that were raised as fishermen.

Though her enthusiasm seemed endless, Syvana could be forgetful at times--not a desirable quality at sea. Fortunately, she was quite content to help her mother and the other women with gutting fish to both sell and cook. The process always fascinated her, and she was never finicky or squeamish when it came to meat.

Her father, Elias, was a man who knew his trade, and though he believed that women on a fishing ship was a bad omen, was happy to teach his daughter how to fish from the shores with both poles and nets. Syvana was never happy to be left behind once she grew older, but took pride in the fact that she had more skill with a knife than either of her brothers did. As the youngest, she struggled to prove herself as equal to them, and both her parents encouraged her to dream as big as she wanted to. They taught her that everything could be accomplished with hard work.

When she was 14 Turns, the dragon came. Syvana had never seen anything more magnificent in her whole life--and when the searchrider from Malvren deemed her able to stand on the sands as a Candidate, it was all she could do to keep herself from leaping atop the dragon--at least, until she had her parents permission!

Adjusting to life in the Weyr, away from her family, was more difficult than Syvana had expected, but she worked diligently at her chores and did her best to make friends. She wrote often and clung to the letters she received in reply, but overall flourished in her new home. Her first Hatching came and went when she had turned 15, leaving her alone on the sands and suffering from the crushing blow of disappointment. Two more Turns would pass before she would finally Impress on her 17th Turn, to the Silver who called himself ???.

Description: Tall and rather willowy, you can always tell when this young woman means trouble. She gets a particular swagger in her step, and her grey-green eyes light up.

Her parents' genetics were kind to her. She's developed into quite the beautiful young woman, with long, brown hair that has the tendency to curl and slight, slender curves. Her mouth can be rather stubborn at times, but her whole face tends to light up when she smiles--which is something she does often!

Personality: Mischievous to a fault, Syvana believes in living life to its fullest without any regrets. She was raised to work hard and give her all to any task, no matter how dull, and will enthusiastically throw herself into whatever duty she's been assigned to. Still, all work and no play makes Jackath a dull dragon, and Syvana will take time off to simply be silly and have a little fun. Flirtatious and aggressively cheery, she really just wants to be friends with everyone, and doesn't take 'no' or a growly face as an answer. C'mon, lighten up, she'll show you a good time!

Her stubbornness has gotten her into trouble more than a few times, and sometimes she really doesn't get that when people say no, sometimes they really mean no! Being headstrong has gotten her through some tough times--but it's also been the cause of some.

Syvana's idea of fun can border on the wild side at times. She loves the adrenaline rush, and used to be prone to doing stupid things. Not anymore, not since her bond with ???, but still! Sometimes, you have to let loose and live a little, in her opinion-so long as you can do it without disgracing your Weyr!

It's hard to make Syvana mad at anyone, extremely so. She can accept people snapping at her or going off in fits of temper, and once it really sinks in that they're ticked off, she'll quietly slink off and check back in later once they've had some time to cool off. She doesn't take offense in most situations, and will more than likely laugh in your face and walk away if someone tries to pick a fight. Sticks and stones! What will undoubtedly incur her wrath, however, is betrayal, or sheer, malicious behavior to others. She doesn't understand those kinds of people, and doesn't want to. The only thing worse than a bully is a traitor. Expect to be pointedly snubbed and given the cold shoulder at any opportunity.

Syvana is extremely proud of her status as a dragonrider, and wants to do whatever is in her power to protect Pern. It is her sworn duty, and her life's work. She couldn't be happier--not with her dragon forever at her side.
