In the manga Queen Serenity ( not Neo Queen Serenity) states in the manga that the ancients knew her as the goddess Selene.
Could Princess Serenity, when being reborn as a mortal and becoming sailor Moon... Could she have been coming into her powers as a demigoddess?
Uh, sorry if this was a lame theory but I have strange ideas floating in my head.

I don't think its a silly theory at all. I have a similar theory that the Sailors are decendants of the Greek/Roman Gods and Goddesses. So you aren't alone in that reguard.

In the Japanese Sailor Moon Musical series, Sera Myu, they have a play were Sailor Moon is a descendant of Kakuyaa, the Japanese Moon Goddess.
