Is anyone here a writer? And to clarify, by writer I mean the type of person you don't usually find in the Writers' Forum. ::Shudder::
Just curious - if you do write, what type of stuff is it? Poetry, short stories, fanfiction, essays, articles, novels...and do you have a favourite genre?
To answer my own question, I write a bit of everything, story-wise, and my favourite genre is fantasy. I write a lot of non-fiction too (competitions, you know), and quite a bit of poetry (most of which is horrible).

I write poetry occasionally, but I'm not very good at it. It's kind of funny actually...I hate poetry with a passion, but it just kinda spews out of me sometimes.
Other than that, I've got a roleplay that my boyfriend and I have been working on for a while, and we're toying with the idea of maybe editing it and turning it into a novel when we're done with it, but I doubt that that will ever happen (mainly because we've been working on the RP on and off for a year now, and it's been like...a day and a half in the RP. 30-ish pages typed.)

I write like a fiend. It's how I vent out my frustrations - and by which I don't mean I write poems about how cruel and depressing high school life is. Rather, it's relaxing to just immerse myself into a world of my imagination, turn off the world outside...
And now you all think I'm on drugs.
Anyhow, I've written a lot of short stories, a handful of which have made it into my school's literary magazine and two have won second place in a statewide writing contest. *brags some more*
Currently I'm working on my first novel, a good ol' fantasy story. Originally, it was going to be a cruel mockery of Paolini's Eragon (I hate Christopher Paolini, by the way). However, it has since taken on a plot of its own, and shares very little reference to Eragon other than it features dragons.

I love to write too. I used to write fanfictions but they always came out horribly. My only problem now is that whenever I get in the mood to write, I never have any really good story ideas. Recently, I've been thinking about writing a musical. Should be interesting...
I also love to write papers for school. Sometimes the non-fiction writing is easier than fiction. Poetry too. Sometimes that just comes out unexpectedly. Usually I write poetry when I need to vent. It works.

I used to write every waking moment of my life. Then I started getting loads of homework and I'm lucky to get a good chapter in some of the stories I'm working on every half year or so.
I usually write fanfictions because I can just borrow characters and be lazy, but I'm also working on a fantasy/adventure type novel and a comical one about some of my friends and I.
Quite entertaining.
