Actually, it's kind of demeaning to women.
You have to be sexy and dangerous.

Yada yada, you all already know that I'm funking sick of people wanting to make all heroines the same. Some slut in a catsuit who kicks people in the face and pouts.
It's not an appealing character when it's a man, but now if a woman isn't that way, she's an unappealing heroine and the piece she's in sucks.
A man can be a thinking, weak hero. A man can even be an unattractive or at least modest hero.
But a woman needs to fight, and look like a sex symbol when she does it. And that's to prove you have gender equality.

The Princess Bride was awesome. Princess Buttercup was a good character.

Wait a sec, Buttercup was a bad heroic character for not being pretty enough or a strong fighter or minimally dressed? It's set in ye olde times and Buttercup was a Princess ffs!

It's irritating most heroines have to look like bimbos, but some of them have a valid reason and do more than fanservice. They're hard to find, but they do exist! [looks crazy]

"Hi, I'm Rapunzel. I'm a ninja. I learned to fight while trapped in a tower for sixteen years with no trainer. It was funny when Fiona did it because it was ridiculous. But now, combat training is standard with a uterus. Men! Never date a woman who couldn't kill you with her bare hands, she isn't worthy of your love. Because, you know, in real life, that's a very practical skill. Better than all that sexist cooking and sewing. Those have no real-world application."

Have you ever noticed whenever someone tells a girl to "be herself", they either go on to say "a spunky, lively, fun-loving girl who won't take s**t from anyone", whether or not the girl has ever displayed any of those characteristics?
You can be a worthwhile person without being spunky. Boys do it all the time. But if a girl does it she's a giant fake. I like sewing and I don't like sex, I'm going to be alone for the rest of my life.

I mean, I know there's more to life than finding a mate, but all this media saying who I really am is someone who will never be loved is really depressing.
