The Panthers picked up two more QBs' after Jimmy Clausen(Notre Dame). Armanti Edwards(Appl. State), and Tony Pike(Cinn.) What does this tell you about how much confidence John Fox and the rest of the Coaching staff down in Carolina have about Matt Moore? But, there has been talk about Carolina supposedly putting Armanti Edwards as a Wide Receiver/Kick Returner. Overall though, I would give the Carolina Panthers at least a B to a B- draft grade.

Edwards will be a wr for sure and maybe a wildcat qb so that leaves Pike who is a beast and theres nothing wrong with qb depth

Yeah it's always better to have to many QB's, than not enough. Right now I'm thinking Moore will be the guy this year and into the near future, but Clausen will be the guy of the future. I'm not sure on Pike, maybe they will use him for trading, potential starter, or back up, but either way I'm glad we have this for the future.

Just to set the record straight: Our picks have nothing to do with Matt Moore. He IS the starter for 2011. It's already been decided.
QBs-
-Clausen was chosen because of his Draft Value and as a little extra insurance against the unthinkable (Matt falls apart halfway through season/Matt gets hurt)
-Pike is simply for, again, Draft Value and also for added depth at the position (C'mon. Hunter Cantwell is NOT a starter. Imagine if we lost Matt AND Clausen, like when Jake was pulled and McCown was injured almost the very next play. Extra insurance)
-Armanti Edwards CAN play QB if needed to, and will probably play QB in Wildcat formations (Michael Vick clone?) . He will end up at either WR or at FB, though, depending on the ability of Brandon LaFell, Dwayne Jarrett, and others to play #2 Receiver. I will mention Armanti more with the WRs.
WRs-
-Brandon LaFell has the potential to be a Moose clone. Big (6' 3", 206 lbs), definitely a possession receiver though he has good hands. IMHO, he is our one and only hope for the playoffs in 2011. If he can develop into a Good Enough Starter (~8 TDs in 2011), then Smitty would be able to make his return to the slot (Where he belongs, IMHO, as he was most productive there) and our passing attack would be saved from yet another miserable year of underachievement.
-However, we cannot count out David Gettis. He is a BIG mothaf**ka at 6' 4" and 215 lbs. However, he has only raked in one TD in his entire College career, bringing in questions about his production ability at the Pro Level (Jarrett clone?), however I expect him to contend for the #2 spot and create more competition at the position.
-Now, the big question mark: Armanti Edwards. He is expected to be placed as a WR during OTAs and TC. However, I believe that he will also be tried at Fullback, seeing as Hoov is gone and Fiametta is a bum. I believe that at whatever position Armanti ends up at, he will be good at it. He is 6' 1" 184 lbs and extremely athletic. He's got a great work ethic and a great motor. Expect big things from him.
LB-
-Eric Norwood was a LB at South Carolina through College. He's 6' 1" 252 lbs, and leads SC with 43 tackles for loss and 3rd on their all time list with 22 sacks. He is a significant pass-rusher and will add to the run defense, though his ability to aid in passing defense is questionable, as he has no recorded Interceptions through college.
DE-
-Greg Hardy is a question mark for me. He is, in essence (not physically), a Pep clone in that he tends to take downs off. He's not Julius (Who is 6' 7" and 283 lbs.) at 6' 5" and 275 lbs, but he's definitely not as small as Everette Brown. He showed significant pass-rushing ability (26.5 Sacks) and will improve our run defense significantly as well (39 Tackles for loss and 90 All Purpose Tackles). The jury's still out on him as far as I'm concerned. If his work ethic improves, he will be a starter within a season easily.
DB-
-Jordan Pugh is a DB from Texas A&M who is 5' 11" and 200 lbs. IMHO, he is a little short for a DB, but that doesn't matter. He has logged 4 INTs in the past two years, three coming this past year. He will add depth and competition at CB/S.
-RJ Stanford is a DB from UTah, and is also 5' 11", but weighing 180 lbs. He will add depth and competition at CB, seeing as eh is fairly fast.
-Robert McClain is a DB from UCONN. He is 5' 9" and 198 lbs. He is my personal favorite of our DBs this Draft. He logged 65 tackles, 5.5 for losses, and 6 INTs. He will add depth and competition at CB/S.
Draft Grade: C. Lost of confusing and risky picks. Fingers crossed that they work out.

TOO MANY QB's MAN! They shouldn't have grabbed Edwards or Pike. Those were wastes of picks that they should have spent on players to fill voids and prepare for the future, not 3 QB's on top of Matt Moore, who has proven to be a good QB. I feel sorry for Jimmy Clausen, he should have gone somewhere like New England or Indianapolis where he could learn from the aging Tom Brady or Indianapolis Colts, so instead of those two teams dropping when those QB's retire, they would have a Pro-Ready QB.
Panthers Draft Grade: C-

Just FYI, Shadow: Armanti will be playing WR or FB most likely, but only a Wildcat QB.

Edwards is not going to be a QB, maybe out of the Wildcat, but the team already said he isn't a QB. Moore probably isn't a long term guy, Clausen has potential, Pike is a back up of the future.

I'm getting less and less sure of what to think coming into next season. I'm always gonna be optimistic about them because it's the team I love, but still not sure. If these young players can step up, they will dominate. If not, then they will fall.

Not to get off topic, but Why the hell didn't Minnesota draft Colt? They don't know if Brett is going to come back (bet he will) and Travaris is not that good (remember before Favre came back, and every sports caster said he was the next Tarkenton?) we could use a player like Colt, even though I hope that every first round draft pick gets paid big money and then breaks his legs and cannot play agian...

Argus Plexus Favre (Did I spell that right?) will be back Oh don't you can't spell it, everyone who doesn't watch football can spell his incorrectly spoken name. Also I still think Colt is going to ride the bench his entire career, or maybe actually get a start and bust or get hurt.
