So after doing some research, I discovered Alucard is (was?) Vlad the Impaler. Pretty frickin' sweet. biggrin
Then I noticed that even though Hirano never mentions that bit of info directly, he alludes to it.
In volume 3, when Alucard is killing the police force, he flings the corpses into the air and they land on the flagpoles in front of the hotel, a lot like Vlad would do:

Has anyone else noticed any allusions to Vlad the Impaler?

I am simply stating what I found and wondering if there is perhaps more that has been alluded to that I may not have found.
Though I must say, it's better than the guild being quiet all the time. Makes me sad. crying
