The officers were wide eyed through the entire story. At first it didn't seem as though they believed him. Some punk of a cadet besting the dreaded traitor seemed like a chance at inflating his own ego, but once they saw the dagger their wide eyes turned to more of shock than pure disbelief.
Some of the officers who worked with Nick before recognized the dagger immediately. One of them had seen it used.
Shun was allowed to keep the dagger as his trophy and a symbol of what he had accomplished. It was mounted on a golden plack and marked with the seal of the emperor.
The emperor was notified of this incredible feat immediately. And not long after, Shun would be summoned to tell the tale himself.
On the spot Shun was promoted to Private First Class and informed he would be trained now as special ops. A parade was also held in the brave cadet's honor... Many turned up for the event, including a mysterious white haired woman wearing a black cloak.
To top off everything, Shun would receive the reward money, 7.3mil Zi for the bounty. Not the full amount if he had brought her in alive, but they just seemed more thrilled that a traitor to the Empire was brought to justice.
Word spread quickly of the cadet who killed the infamous traitor to the Empire...
