Owww. Migraines suck. I've only had a few headaches in my life that I'd consider true migraines, but yeah. One of them felt like I was having explosions detonated in my brain and any light or sound near me was too much. My brother was really awesome about taking care of me that day, though. Brought me my medication, shut off most of the lights around me, and talked in a whisper.

That's awesome, Lex! The first migraine I ever had came when my boyfriend was over. I couldn't even drive him home because I was sick to my stomach and any light/noise bothered me too. My dad ended up driving him home and I went to bed. Luckily I felt better the next morning...

Oh, that sounds horrible. @_@ Funny thing is, I found that Advil for Migraines works better than my actual migraine prescription. With the migraine prescription, you have to know the "aura" of a migraine before it comes on. With Advil for Migraines, it's just a lot of ibuprofen in liquid gel form, so it acts quickly as a painkiller that reduces swelling.

You get lines, Take Me Out? What do they look like?
I am asking because I get ocular migraines, and they suck. Unlike a regular migraine, which hurts...this only makes a weird change in the visual field. It lasts about 30 minutes, but it is very distracting.
What happens is that I get these "spots" which gradually expand into a sort of colorful wavy line that grows then recedes back into a dot. The little buggers cut my field of vision in half, and it really is annoying.
Unfortunately, they aren't treatable since it would take the meds longer to kick in than it takes to have an episode. sad Normally stress makes me get em, so the more I have probs, the more they happen. Meh.

No you don't, Fishee. It's disabling for many people! I'm not what I'd call a regular migraine sufferer, thank God, I've maybe had 3 in my life, but the worst one was stress related due to a terrible situation at work. I remember sitting in this awful meeting, and seeing this little yellow lightning thing start up in my field of vision, and it grew and grew, until it was several different colors and kind of moving and morphing, like a kaleidoscopic saw blade spinning around and around. I couldn't see out of that area, and it went on for about half a day. It was scary and disturbing.
