with the new TCG banlist nearly upon us (and the format changes along with it), i thought i'd try my hand at a fun Hopeless Dragon variant.

Monsters:

Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon x3
Blue-Eyes White Dragon x3
Prime Material Dragon x2
Strong Wind Dragon
Red-Eyes Wyvern x2
Koa'ki Meiru Drago x2
Exploder Dragon x2
Masked Dragon x3
Magna Drago
Plaguespreader Zombie

Spells:

Future Fusion
Dragon's Mirror
Stamping Destruction
Burst Stream of Destruction
Trade-In x2
Advance Draw
Heavy Storm
Mystical Space Typhoon
Lightning Vortex x2
Book of Moon x2

Traps:

Burst Breath x2
Bottomless Trap Hole x2
Call of the Haunted
Torrential Tribute
Mirror Force
Solemn Judgment

mind you, this is my first crack at a Hopeless build, so any constructive help will be greatly appreciated =)

Here's a good combo for a hopeless build containing Blue-Eyes.

Activate cards of consolance, and discard White Stone of Legend. Draw two cards and add a Blue-Eyes to your hand. Activate Trade-In, discarding Blue-Eyes to draw two more cards. You end up getting a Plus one for your hand and a Blue-Eyes in the Grave for Red Eyes Darkness Metal.

Since White stone of legend is the only tuner you should actually add to a Hopeless deck, 3 White Stone of Legends and two Cards of Consonance is good. You can get cCards of Consonance from Absolute Powerforce packs. They're Super Rare.

I was thinking the same question, but I think he put it in there for two reasons. Its a beat stick and you can use it with trade in because its level 8. Hes probably trying to make the deck run faster and more consistant hence trade in.

As far as cards to use for trade in I've allways liked Phantom Dragon. Sure he has his drawbacks, but hes a level 8 and can special summon himself.

Why would you use solidarity? Thats like asking why they made the card. Us it because your not playing anything, but Dragons (plauge doesn't count he removes himself from the game). Solidarity is a strong card to say the least. Perhaps not a fast card, but its really hard to get past when you don't have that spell/trap destruction you need at the time.

I really don't know why no one plays Tyrant Dragon anymore I mean he is just so annoying...unaffected by trap cards and he can attack all the monsters on the field plus he was a whopping 2900 atk points call me old fashioned but I think he is must at least at 1

Tyrant Dragon isn't unaffected by Trap Cards. It negates Traps that target it, such as Dimensional Prison or Phoenix Wing Wind Blast. It is still susceptible to others such as Bottomless Trap Hole, Mirror Force, and Torrential Tribute.

And no, it doesn't get to attack all monsters on the field. It gets to attack twice, only when your opponent has a monster after the first attack. That's all.

There are better options with better effects that are more fluent for the deck.

Darn I've been cheated!
Thanks for clearing that up my friend uses tyrant with that effect and since he's never lied to me about a card effect before I never checked it, he gonna get it now! twisted

If you're gonna play the Consonance engine, you'll need at least one Debris or a Flamvell Guard for extra targets (leaning more towards Debris in this case). Then max out the engine to give yourself enough cards to cycle through the deck.

This works especially well with Genesis. Recover your lost Tuners, draw into your resources, rape face.

If you're playing the SOL/Consonance Engine with Blue-Eyes as your feature you might be better off taking a cue from Disaster.

Try this:

Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon x3
Blue-Eyes White Dragon x3
Light and Darkness Dragon x2
Genesis Dragon x1
White Stone of Legend x3
Debris Dragon x2
Masked Dragon x3
Totem Dragon x2
Prime Material Dragon x1
Exploder Dragon x1

Cards of Consonance x3
Trade-In x3
Future Fusion x1
My Body as a Shield x1
Heavy Storm x1
Cold Wave x1
Mystical Space Typhoon x1
Lightning Vortex x1
Burial from a D.D. x1
Creature Swap x1

Bottomless Trap Hole x2
Mirror Force x1
Torrential x1
Solemn Judgment x1
