Deception's fangs ripped into the fresh kill at his hooves, ripping chunks of flesh off the once large proud stag's skeleton. He swallowed the chunk of flesh and grinned in delight, muscles shuddering underneath his leather brown hide. He looked up, pupil less white eyes scanning the open grassland. He stood at the edge of it, a forest looming dark and foreboding behind him.

He tossed his hair back and dropped his head back to his meal filling his belly with the still warm meal. He almost hoped another came to try and take -his- kill. Deception hadn't participated in a good fight in some time and he was almost itching for the thrill of it again.

He tossed away the few shreds of the meal left and stretched out, huge muscles rolling again under his coat until he was satisfied.

Deception turned back towards the forest, ready to slip back into the shadows once more.

-imaginary Shula image here-

The young filly was out trying to scrounge up some meat that maybe someone threw away or from something that died naturally. With no one to teach her to hunt Shula had yet to catch anything still alive. She knew she was different from her parents as she had wings that her parents didn't have but she didn't question it, especially since they let her try to hunt. It just didn't help that none of them knew how and could teach her. Which is why she currently just scavenged.

Shula paused in her search, smelling blood nearby. Looking around she thought she spotted someone near the tree line, someone that looked like they just got done eating something with blood and meat. Perhaps she could sneak over and steal some if they weren't paying attention. So she quietly made her way over, knowing that most likely she would get caught trying to take the food of the other. But it was worth a try and she really didn't want to eat that nasty grass again.

The massive kalona slithered partially into the shadows his huge hooves barely making a sound against the earth as he walked.

There wasn't to much left of his kill for her to scrounge but there was enough she might get a decent meal off of the carcass. He stretched out, licking some of the blood off his thick legs, allowing his muscles the chance to stretch out as well as he arched his back downwards wings stretching high above his head. He didn't hear the little filly coming at first, he was to focused on his grooming.

His head jerked up when he thought he heard something coming up behind him. The massive stallion turned slowly and watched from the shadows = though he didn't reveal himself to whomever it was approaching the kill.

Shula continued slowly, watching as the other seemed to have left. Oh goody! She won't be chased away from whatever might be left. Her poor stomach was starving for some real food. She really need to learn how to do this hunting thing or else she'll never eat properly. Coming up on what was left of the carcass, the small filly took a deep breath and gave a happy giggle.

She quickly dove into the meat, tearing off chunks and gulping them down. Blood dripped down her face, but she didn't care. It had been a long time since she had eaten something this fresh. Because she was eating, she paid no attention to the feeling of someone watching her, even though it was bothering her. But the food was more important than some silly feeling that might save her life.

Deception watched her for a moment from the shadows eyes narrowed, a half-ling ... a half-ling that couldn't hunt on her own. Her frowned, was she worth keeping around at all? Could the ruined blood be saved? He chuckled to himself. it was worth a shot. Shaking his mane Deception moved silently from the shadows "even a -half- kalona foal shouldn't be scrounging for it's dinner." He raised a brow as he stared down at her.

At slightly over 17 hand sin height, with powerful muscles bulging and rippling under a leathery hide, and a bull like physic Deception was a sight to behold especially for a young foal.

His tailed curled behind him, the spade whisking inches from the ground bellow, huge wings held high above his back as if ready to take flight from the clearing.

He cocked his large head, eyes gleaming but their depths were unreadable hiding any intention he might have for showing himself before the filly. Although he seemed calm enough there was something unnerving about the huge stallion with pupil-less eyes glowing in his skull. Something .... not quiet right about him.

The young filly was to busy eating to notice the stallion come out from the shadows, revealing himself to her. Hearing the voice, she snarled as she looked up at him, blood dripping all down her front. "What's it matter to you? I can't help it if I have no one to teach me to hunt for myself." She stood protectively over the meat, taking in his appearance.

He was much taller than her, something she didn't like very much about him. Staring into his eyes was quite creepy. No pupils. Very creepy. Shula couldn't help but shiver slightly at his appearance, but she wasn't going to let him scare her off. "Your eyes are creepy. Now can I go back to my meal that you left here that I'm not going to give back?" Her snarl wavered slightly as she stared in his eyes again, before looking down back towards her meal.

Deception's head cocked further, to the point it looked as though it had to be painful. He flicked an ear "never been taught to hunt?" He almost chuckled as he watched her carefully head still cocked "why have you never been taught? Half-ling though you may be ... you should still know how to do justice to the kalona blood in your veins." Unlike most, Deception would accept a half ling, unless they just truly proved to be unworthy to live.

His wings stretched wide and he rocked back side stepping before turning to walk around the filly, noting every inch of her to memory.

His tail lashed, he rocked back again almost seeming to sit on his rump. Vicious hooks on the back of his hocks dug into the earth for a moment.

Blood dripped from her chin as she ate away at what the stallion had left. Lifting her head she nodded slightly. "Never been taught. My grandparents are the ones raising me. They are winds. My mother who is a wind abandoned me and my sisters. My father is to crazy to be let into our lives. He wants to kill us, though he is a cursed one so that might be one." She explained.

Shula watched him circle her, wondering why he was doing it. If it was because he was wanting his meal back, well, that was to bad. She'd fight for it. Granted she knew she would lose but she wouldn't give up. A small snarl could be heard as she glared at him a few seconds before turning back to her meal.

He listened to her speak as he prowled about her as he listened to the filly recount her still young life.

"Hmm, you may have -some- potential then, so surrounded by weakness yet still able to obey the kalona in your veins."

He smiled again, seemingly pleased by this thought. "Well little filly, if you ever -truly- ant to be worth a damn, you will need to be trained" He nodded decisively his tail flexing and curling back and forth. Yes, she needed training now before the saps ruined her, she had much potential to be even slightly worthy but she needed the right training and nurturing to make her a truly formidable mare.
