So now that generation 5 has some proof to it. (Serebii.net has some info)
Zetshimaru is wondering if it will be full of new pokemon or evolutions of pokemon that need a boost.
Zetshimaru would rather have new pokemon just so there is no threat that one of Zetshimaru's favorite pokemon changing into something ugly gonk (Magmortar <<)
What does the rest of the guild think?

I think it'll be a mix of both, as always. I wonder what a Snorlax evolution would be like...

They did release a silhouette of a what one of the new pokemon will look like. You can see the pic on Bulbapedia.

I've been very skeptical about a Gen 5 for a while. Even with this proof from Serebii, I am not jumping to conclusions. Even if Gen 5 was in the works, it won't be untill Summer 2011 untill we get it.
It will most likely be a mixed. With D/P/Pt they already updated a lot of old chains, so there is most likely going to be a lot more new chains rather than updates. There are some that appeared in Gen 4 that need an update. Like Pachirisu and Chatot. It is also possible for new Baby pokemon to show up, like a Baby pokemon that can evolve into Tauros if it is Male, or Miltank if it is Female. We won't know for sure untill it is released.
Though everyone wants more Eevee Evolutions, they did skip them in Gen 3. Lets hope they do not skip Gen 5. Also, that pokemon presented on Serebii has grabbed my interest. It looks like the type of pokemon I have been wanting sence Johto - A werewolf / Were-beast pokemon. I kind of hope it is Dark-type, lol.
Gamefreak - Sorry, pal. Nothing more they can do with Snorlax.

Its stats has no room for an Evolution. It would have to be before, but it would be nothing more than an inlarged Muchlax that is halfway between Muchlax and Snorlax. It is just not nessicary. The only thing they can do is an alternative Snorlax, like the difference between Slowbor and Slowking. Either way, Snorlax is fine the way it is.
Edit: Another possibility I thought of is a Pre-evolution for Kangaskhan and/or a Male alternative.

It could be many different pokemon.
Zetshimaru is hopeful it is a fighting type, with it being a humanoid pokemon there is a good chance.
But with it's looks right now it could be a dark type. Maybe even a Dark/Fighting type biggrin

But with it's looks right now it could be a dark type. Maybe even a Dark/Fighting type biggrin It does look like a type of Were-beast. Like a Werewolf or a Werefox. Since it does not have any indications of fins, fire, or grass, the possible types it could be are: Normal, Dark, Fighting, Ice, or maybe (slim chance, though) Ground. A werewolf Dark/Fighting type would be awesome, though. Judging from the picture, I can tell it is not an evolution of a previously existing pokemon. Its nose is longer than Eevees, so it is not an Eeveevolution. It does not look like a weasle like Lineone. And there is no way it is an evolution of Floatzel. So, we are looking at something completely new.

These are the pokemon Zetshimaru would guess it could be related too.
It has arms like Lucario, but Lucario is a threat already an evolution would be too much.
It's head has a similar to Sandslash, but Sandslash and Sandshrew are but tough skinned pokemon and this one looks fluffy.
It reminds Zetshimaru of Mightyena also, this is mostly going with the whole werewolf thing though.
Eevee may not be too far out there because Jolteon seems to have a similar head shape.
Maybe it could be a split for Vigoroth. Not all of them can be that lazy can they?
And the last pokemon Zetshimaru could see it as is Zangoose.
But Zetshimaru's guess it that it is a whole new chain. Everyone will just have to wait a few weeks to show the coloring confused

lol seems many see the werewolf looks in it. I also guess'ed dark/fighting when I saw it.
I see elsewhere that some think maybe a Mightyena evo but I find that unlikely.
As for new evolutions. The are some single stage pokemon that could seriously use them, many of which are useless otherwise. However I would rather they make alot of new chains rather than add to a bunch.
Those I think in need of new evos are:
pinsir
Keckleon
Mawile
luvdisc
pachirisu
dunsparce
pinsir and Mawile I just think would be cool if they had evos. The last three I listed I think desperately need added evos As I personally consider them useless without.

((& lol @ dark type comment)) @ Lord Sirrush : Dunspare isn't actually quite as useless as it looks, it is an awesome poke for paraflinch revenge when jirachi isn't allowed ;o I've always had trouble, even with my own jirachi, when I have been up against it in the past. ~~ I Hope there are quite a few evolutions from the past generations and I hope they come with new dragons & eeveelutions. I can't wait to see the map ! surprised && the legendaries of course. As for the pic, it could be fire type? I'm thinking of the different colors it could have. For all we know, it's normal type XD

The new legens will be interesting. Hopefully we dot get 10 or more and it goes back down to 5.(Includes the 3 linked ones...birds, dogs, Regis, Spirits)
Also i dont want to see the Savior of the Pokemon and the son of Arceus.(Not to offend...i'm Christan)
