...by .02! gonk

My grades were all B+ and A- and I don't really care about the Dean's List because I still am proud of my work. I honestly can't wait to get back to school to keep working on my Master's Thesis research. mrgreen

Is it weird that I love school so much?

Personally I think school needs to die of hypothermia...

Sorry you missed the Dean's List, Blossom ... makes me think of something similar that happened to me once. But, I think it is excellent that you love school so much (both you and Sung-Chiang). It tells you you're in the right place, IMHO.

I dislike school.
I like the idea of learning in the long run, but right now I want to be young and carefree and go frolick in the daisies.

NOT spend my life working on English homework. Siiiigh.

But it's all for the best.

English homework? *ears perk up* Is there anything I can help you with? Huh huh huh?

Pants, you may think it odd, but I agree with you. People your age should spend time frolicking in the daisies. It's a long, lllloooooonnnnggg time before you get to do it again.

I have issues with the American educational system.

If you want to know about them, I can go on at some length. But, the short version is, I feel as though there is too much emphasis placed on sitting still, shutting up, and listening to someone drone on, rather than doing, experiencing, and finding stuff out for yourself. Most of us learn best that way.

I definitely am a more hands-on learner. I bet that's why I do better in college. More of our lessons are taught in labs, where we actually get to perform the task at hand.

I like school. Especially this year.
In Ireland, there's an optional year you can take between your two separate state exams, (the ones that 'determine your future' kinda).
It called Transition Year.
Basically, it's a year to have fun, relax and actually do things.
Not just read or learn about them...
It's great!
Tons of trips and such.
I mean one time we had a beat box workshop and we all just got to spend the school day playing different types of drums...
When we're back in school after the xmas break we have a film workshop.
Making our own mini-movie!

Ooh, that sounds fun! I wish I could make my own movie...

Dean's List is the university equivalent of the Honor Roll in our American high schools. To get onto the Dean's List, your grade point average (GPA) has to be a 3.5 or higher. I had a 3.48 this semester. stressed

Honour roll? Er, right American. No 'u'. Honor roll?...
Eh, nevermind... It'd most probably over-complicate an already confused mind. I'll just never fully understand American ways of life!...
...
Dean list, honor roll, GPA it's just all way over my head...

I don't mind if you spell it with the "u". I like the way words are spelled in European English. ^_^

honour, colour,... hmm... I can't think of any other words right now...

Night, nite. The way you spell it makes more sense really. Nite.

Night is spelt like nite?
I never knew...
I prefer our way... It's somehow nicer to look at.
Which is odd.
