Welcome to February's Survival Topic [Now with D20 chance!]:   Survivors Study [vote in the poll]. And eat their Wheaties.
You just woke up there, no clues!
The world's the same, but slight things are different--what a crazy idea this is turning out to be. Someone come up with a crazy survival plot!
Bring it on.
If you're going to survive your alternate universe, you'd best have the know how, so everybody post any useful information, tips, and/or tools of the trade.~~~~ Info --Alternate Universes are really hard to predict. How would the world you live in impact the world of another? Would you feel more like an alien or an evil clone in a world full of good clones? I think the best strategy would be to act natural--it's your world, just a little strange in comparison to your real home.
Hold your own and hope it reverses? Maybe search out a scientist or get your head checked? What would you do?~~~~

Evil Clones: 11
This means evil clones out to get you, but you're in luck when I say they haven't gotten really organized yet. Stop lights reversed, watch the crosswalks for random jumpers.
Non-Communication: 16
It looks like you can't understand them, but some of them--the ones that aren't trying to kill you that is--are are willing to teach you for a boon/price. Your choice. Unfortunately, these are doctors.
Technology: no applicable result
We're talking modern day, or at least a few years back, in technology.
Food Quality: 4
We're looking at a poor and wasted food source. There are many outbreaks of salmonella and mad cow, so I'd sooner just reach for the bread and wine, if either aren't going bad.
Religious Conservatism: 13
We have our extremist groups here and there, but mostly people stick to their own and you only have to worry about getting in the path of the extremists.
Science Similarity: 1
Nothing alike. At all. While in Our world we spend time trying to fix things or improve life, they spend their time trying to figure out stupid stuff, like why toilets swirl down a certain direction. They'll stick a needle in your arm just to find out why blood spurts when you remove the needle. All likeliness of reaching home have just been snuffed out unless you find one of their crazy scientists who don't think like them. There's also a good bet that the microwave you're about to use is also designed to explode at the touch of the start button. HOW these people survived is really starting to make you curious.

i would probably sit in the shadows and see what other people look like, act like, wear, and see if i can learn to talk like them, or at least figure out some of their body language (did i spell that right?)
i would also try to find a good source of food and water that i could keep going back to
also am i alone? and how did i get there? if im with the fiance then i should be somewhat fine since he carries around water, snacks, and warm things just in case this kind of thing ever happens to him. if im by myself then i probably wont do too well at communicating assuming there is intelligent life

I'll say if YOU got sucked into an alternate universe, LK, you'd very likely be clean-shaven.

Excellent question, one best answered with my chance dice. The higher the number, the better chance of evil in this alternate universe. 0 is grassy fields and a talking sun with an endless supply of bunny eatery. 20 is Hitler-ruled, 220 degrees either side of freezing so civilization remains underground, evil masterminds and a puppy-kicker not brought to justice.
10 is somewhere in between, some evil clones out to get you, but you're in luck, they're rather stupid. Good for everyone? Sweet.
And yes, my story is definitely going to rock.

how is the technology? and are we able to communicate with them? do they speak english? or are they telepathic and we dont stand a chance of making friends with them? hey, im pretty weak, i cant fight evil clones, my best bet is to make friends with them

For technology, since we've got lights and crosswalks, we're going with a high chance of evil/good clone doctors as well just to keep you on your toes. If you trust somebody, make sure they're not too well-armed.

XD well depending on what they want i may or may not take them up on their offer. if they want blood then fine,if they want me to be cut open then thats a no no.

Ooooh, I had this creepy dream about this once. My fiance (got engaged last week!!!!) was with me, bu it wasn't him. He wasn't like him anymore, and his eyes were a different color. They were, like, brigh blue, and Jace has very, very, very dark brown eyes.
SO I was just like, play it cool...See what happens...Try to get normal Jace back...Then the bad Jace started strangling me, but I woke up and it was just the bedsheets. :/ I'm a dork.
Anyhow, I'd just see if ther were applicable ways to use what I as a person know. See if they like the arts, and if they do, attempt to see if they like what I create. Get famous, and like in the lap of luxiury. ( I completely spelled that wrong...)
Are they sophisticated? What is the money? Is it something easily counterfeit?
Most importantly, WHAT IS THE FOOD LIKE?!?!?!
I'm really hungry right now.

Solution to your dream: tie Jace up and make sure he doesn't go anywhere. How he looks is your option. *I was going to suggest that for some seriously wlid roleplaying, but forget it. xD *
