Do you do any sort of divination (like tarot cards, runes, I-Ching, that sort of thing)? If so what do you prefer? how long have you been doing it? Is it something you consult every day, or just when the need arises? Do you only consult it for yourself, or others?

Jai Kali Maa I use just about anything for divination. Pendulums, cards, regular playing cards, candles, fire pits, a draining sink, a pot of bubbling water, light dancing off a mirror, smoke from incense (only because it's thick), patterns in the dirt, dropping sticks, reading clouds, list goes on and on. If it moves and or can be constantly changed (save for living animals and the like) then I use it for divination.
I don't use runes though. They're very finicky and take a lot more study than I have time to give to them.

That's cool. I prefer tarot cards myself, having read for eleven years at this point. I recently started trying the I-Ching as well, though, and so far I'm really liking that too. I've tried Norse runes, but so far we haven't been very compatible.

Jai Kali Maa Runes are very hard to work with. They take tears of study, and I also heard that it helps to have some kind of connection to Norse paganism.
I don't really have anything I prefer. I'm clairvoyant, so I don't scry very often. Besides that, I'm a "take it as it comes" kind of person.

Even tarot cards take time to study. My problem with runes isn't study or lack thereof, Norse runes and I just don't quite "click".

I think runes are beautiful but their too......um.....throwing rocks is like.....um......yeah. I actually don't completely believe in this sort of stuff, believe it or not. But I do like Tarot cards, i've given accurate readings and all but I do it for fun or novelty purposes, not life or death questions.

Jai Kali Maa That's ok. Tarot cards don't give life or death answers.

I have actually heard of people asking their Tarot cards if they are seriously ill and such. That's silly, Tarot cards or anything including herbal treaments and healing spells should be replacements for doctors.

*squeals* Cuteness alert!
Ahem. But yes, I agree that asking any sort of divination system questions like that is at best, silly. Also, one thing I've found over the years is that the more you have emotionally invested in a question, the more it will influence the outcome. If you are reading for yourself it becomes even harder to get a good reading, as not only will the reading be affected by your emotions, you might not see what you should, and rather read what you want to. *sighs* I actually had a girl burst into tears once over a reading. It's one of the reasons I stopped reading for people I don't know, actually. Well that and just how many people I ran into who like to play such games as, "test the fortune-teller." But my point, before I meandered into that tangent, is that not only is it silly to ask health questions of a divination system, but can have bad effects as well if you don't see things as they truly are, or read too deeply into something that just isn't there.

I use Numerology alot...when I get the feeling a certain things have another meaning, I may bust out my pen and pad and start finding the reduced numbers of those, trying to find what these numbers mean!

i use tarot cards. i don't read or handle them every day, which they seem to prefer, because if i use them too much the readings get fuzzy. do you suppose this is because they don't like me, or because they just need time to recharge between readings?

I get the same thing when I ask the same question too many times. I think it's more of a thing where knowing too much would be more harmful than anything else.
