Kilawli is another peaceful town. It has a few problems here and there and is a bit bigger then Flandor. It has a few nice scenery places and mostly has People and creatures with Wings. 90% of the population has wings in Kilawli.

Jing of the Ellian Mountains

The outer world is proving to be very unpleasent... Jing was standing amidst the now ruined city Kilawli. Her initial shock of seeing the large city destroyed had passed, and the vigilance she had just months before. She spent most of her time moving about the city, taking it upon herself to take the dead bodies that littered the city and bringing them to a place that appeared to be a park. Digging the graves was hard, at first, but after discovering a shovel her task became vastly simpler, though she often had a replace a shovel when she would grow frustrated with her task, gripping the tool so hard the wood would splinter greatly. It was when she finished burying the bodies, that she began clearing rubble.

She was far from done, having only finished a section of the city, but after a dream of Lykourgos a week before she decided it was time to move on. She had more important things to do then attempting to clean a destroyed city. She would have to return to her original task, locating her fost father Lykourgos. No, before him I must find Jang. It had been a long while since she had seen her Bard friend. Her memories of how they seperated were fuzzy to her, having been lost in the time she spent trying to fix Kilawli, but now it seemed the most important thing was to locate him, Lykourgos, and then the ones who did such destruction to this city.

The streets of Kilawli were devoid of life. At least, visible life, Jing having encountered rodents every now and again. There were the occasional bandits that took refuge in one of the many buildings, but Jing avoided contact not wishing to take human life unless her own was in danger, or another. The last week had been spent on collecting supplies for the travel. She had been planning on going north, after looking at a map, towards Linkton. Having already been to Ilquint and gone through the desert, she assumed that she wouldn't find Jang south. Especially since they were travelling North when the two seperated. She didn't have much intention on going towards Flandor, having been told that the city were in ruins, much like the city she currently stood in. That only leaves Linkton. She thought, feeling confident that should she travel there that she would come upon him.

[I'll post more for her later.]

Jing of the Ellian Mountains

User ImageThere, with this I should be ready to leave for Linkton. With the satisfying sound of the last clip clicking into place, Jing lifted up the travelling back and slipped her arms through the straps. The pack itself was stuffed with various necessities for travelling, plus objects that had caught some of her own interest. It wouldn't take her long to get to Linkton, at most a two days based on how fast she moved, and with the weight of the pack being as light as it was to her she wasn't the least bit worried about it's weight impeding her journey.

Outside, she took her time walking through the city, taking her time examining what she could. Although it wasn't her home, she felt like she had built a connection with the ruined city. When the connection had been made, she was unsure, but it must have been when she first began trying to clean the city up. No one wants to return to a messy home. Were her thoughts, wondering if someone would do the same should they find her own home, the large and naturally made catacombs that Lykourgos had raised her in. Unlikely. She thought, with a sigh, but didn't really care either way. I just hope we can return before Winter, it would be impossible to prepare for winter any earlier then fall. To her, it was ridiculous that she was so worried about something as preparing for winter in the mountains when it wasn't clear when or if she would actually return to the mountains.

"I'm cold..." A young girl gasped, shivering violently with arms clutched around herself. Her eyes were squeezed shut and her stark body flushed and chapped from the harsh winter winds that blew violently against her small and thin frame. A short distance away from her, sitting before the Jing years before when she had just reached for sixth birthday was Lykourgos. Cold as you may be, you must survive. Jing, if you are to survive past my protection you must learn to do so through your own means. I can teach you only so much, but in the end it will be you resolve and self determination to live. Not mine. The test he was putting her through was cruel to her even by his morals, but it was also necessary. "Jing, I shall be leaving you here. How you return to the cave is up to you, but do know that even if you get lost or die I will not come for you. The snow will bury your body in an instant should you lay down, that is my only advice." Jing's eyes flew open and she stared at her foster father, only his glowing eyes visible through the heavily falling snow. Seeing that he was serious, she moved forward with her arms stretched out in an attempt to hug him, but before she reached the spot her sat she tripped on a log that had been hidden in the deep snow and fell. As he said, the snow in seconds covered the spot she had fallen, and against his paternal wishes, that he had developed over the recent years, he took the chance to leave. Deeply praying that she would survive long enough to return to him.

After that Lykourgos hardly left my side when winter came around. Jing thought soberly, eyes distanced in thought as she continued to walk down the street. In a few minutes she had reached the edge of Kilawli, and was staring at the forest before her. Unlike the Wald von Dunklen Ice (Forest of Dark Ice for those of you who may not remember XD), Jing didn't feel quite so intimidated by the forests aura. If anything, it filled her with a sense of life and wonder, her own curiousity being peaked as she wondered just what sort of animals lived in it's trees. Maybe I shall become accustomed to them as I travel Northeast. She thought, hitching her bag as it had slowly slipped off her shoulder. Hand moving to her side, she gripped the hilt to her new sword she had found during her time in Kilawli. Alright, let's find Jang.

A single monitor remained somewhat in tact. On it flashed the number 30 in red print. It flashed again and was replaced by 29.. A limp body hung against the wall, unconscious but still alive. The room was found during the attack on Kilawli and was destroyed. 20. The laboratory was gone. Beakers, test tubes, computers, machines and much more were all destroyed. The monitor that was currently counting down was cracked in a myriad of places. The mechanisms that 13. The Lilith troops had not attacked the body, mistaking it for dead. The body was kept in condition with the help of an intravenous drip, which was feeding in the required nutrients. A mask was attached to the males face and was regulating his breathing. 6. The machines that were currently supporting this persons life were kept behind the walls. 3. The lab began to come to life for the last time, computer screens had flickered to life and began displaying code. 1. Something was about to happen.

When the number should have been zero, that particular monitor had turned black. The handcuffs that were suspending him snapped open. Simultaneously, the shackles binding his ankles did the same. The corpse fell to the ground. In reaction to this, the intravenous had been ripped out of his veins and the mask fell to the ground. The good doctor had managed to make things work out perfectly even in the event of his own death. The boy was free now, nothing was holding him back to this place.

Green eyes were revealed slowly, as the teenager began to wake up to the world around him. He saw all the damage that had been done to the place but didn’t waver. He was well aware of what happened within these walls. The lights suddenly went out, and all the screens in the room also went black, except one emanating from a single computer. His body, still partially numb, moved slowly towards the source of light. Upon the screen was a set of word document:

0000-1307. No, that will no longer be sufficient, Enko suits you quite nicely. Enko, you were once an experiment of mine, and not of your own volition. However due to the circumstances you are now a free person. I would have liked to see you grow up. I am most likely dead by this point in time, seeing as how Kilawli, the city you are in, is being assaulted. Your clothes are located in the vault, behind the wall that you were hanging from. Do not worry about anything, the machinery is no longer of any use if you are reading this. The combination is 1, 3, 31. From this point on you do not have to continue reading, I’d imagine that you hate me.

Enko stopped reading at that point, but the text went on to explain how the doctor was proud of the success he had attained with Project: 0000-1307.

[Can't leave him hanging. NPC TIME!]

Alain! Come on! We don't have time for this! A voice echoed, travelling far in the empty streets of Kilawli. It belonged to a female, to be more precise a twin sister that was grudgingly following her brother, older by approximately three minutes, after some "great treasure". The two were treasure hunters, collectors, and lovers of the fine arts. They had travelled from overseas, having ported in Ilquint and travelled north after gaining a map and speaking with locals. They were aware of the current situation with Kilawli and Flandor, but beyond that they knew little. They had been in Kilawli for little over an hour, having learned that there was something of ancient technology from the days of "electricity" and "technology", and while not many people expressed a great interest in it, Alain himself was something of an engineer and an inventor, and was excited when he learned that Kilawli was supposed to have some great underground cavern, or so it was told, that housed ancient machines and information.

Alair, on the otherhand, had little interest in things that were abandoned long ago. From her history classes she knew they were abandoned for good reason, and reasons that should never be brought to light. She wasn't exactly enthusiastic about Alain wishing to dig such things up, at the same time he was her only family and, being twins, she didn't want to leave him for long. Like any pair of twins they did much together, studied, travelled, ate, slept, read, and at times bathed, although as they got older they slowly shyed away from such activites as being within sights view of each other without some clothing on. So, unwilling to stay at Ilquint in the unfamiliar place of humid and hot weather, she went along with her brother, hoping to see some sights and find something that would make the journey worthwhile. In the end, she hadn't found much, and while she saw much not all of it was new to her. The twins loved information, and spent much of their time studying books and scrolls, pouring over information, so while some of the things she saw up-close were her first experiences with them she was aware of them and felt little surprise when she looked upon them.

Alain! Come on, it was just a rumor we're not going to find anything. Alair sighed, catching up with her brother whom had wandered far ahead of her, almost an entire block, and was pouring over a small journal. Alain was muttering to himself, glancing at the side-notes and the entries of the diary as he walked. It was an old diary, and one that had been passed along through the family of a scientist of ancient times until it was forgotten in a library and left to collect dust. Alain had chanced upon it, and since finding it he refused to go far from it. It was because he had found it that he decided upon the trip to Lagrima, and why he wanted to travel so desperately to Kilawli. When he first arrived he expected to see machines that were used for transportation, vehicles and the such, and even actual electricity that was put to use for lighting rooms and making metal objects work. Even after learning of the destruction of Kilawli he held hope that there were still be things left to scavenge, to take apart and study.

It was, without a doubt, the largest disappointment of his life when he saw Kilawli, having expected buildings made of metal and glass that seemed to pierce the sky, as ancient texts read, and various other machines. Instead he saw a city, although great, beyond his expectations and rather "simple". Still he had this diary, in his hand, and was determined to find at least something, otherwise this trip would have all gone to waste. I know Air, but this is important. He said, somewhat dismissingly and without looking up from the book. It's got to be somewhere around here... He thought, looking up finally and glancing at the buildings around him. The diary mentioned the street, where the lab was located, but for some reason the writer had torn out the specific building. Alain tried going through the book entirely to see if maybe there was some reference to it but other than the street there was not a single clue.

Closing the diary he put it in his front pocket and crossed his arms, standing completely still and looking at the buildings around him. I refuse to leave until I find something, now help me search for it. He said, deciding that if facts and notes couldn't help him that he would rely on his intuition. Alair rolled her eyes and huffed, understanding her brother's feelings but not liking them. Fine, but I'm leaving you if we don't find anything within the hour. Got it? Alain nodded his head in reply, turning to one side of the street. It's got to be over here... He muttered, uncrossing his arms and walking forward with a determined expression. Alair sighed, not moving from the spot she stood as she watched her brother ram his way through a stuck door and enter a building with shattered glass and overgrown weeds covering it. She, on the other hand, turned around and examined the other side, looking curiously at the buildings. It was at the sight of something glinting her interest perked up, and she hurried to a building, leaping lightly through the missing window, and stopping before a table. On it was a single ring, with an emerald stone set into place and cut in the shape of a small disk. Picking it up and examining it she identified, instantly, that the metal was silver and that stone was not emerald but some other mineral. What is this... She thought, holding it to what light she could find to scruntinize it entirely. Not recognizing the stone she slipped it into a pocket within her leather vest and left the building. As she did, she realized then that she had forgotten which building her brother had entered. Alain? She called out, nervously, looking up and down the street hoping he was somewhere in either direction. There was no reply, nor was he on the street, and as the silence grew so did her nervousness. Stupid brother... She whispered, crouching down.

Enko approached the wall, that was mentioned within the doctors final words, and analyzed it. Nothing gave any hint to there being another room behind it. If it wasn’t for that text, he himself would never have been aware of its existence. Clothing was always brought to him when they needed him to run a couple tests. He was stripped in order to monitor if there was any side effect to becoming a host for an element.

The black haired boy, walked around the room looking for something that could possibly serve him. The green eyes settled upon a stand that was once used to hold a urine bag. He picked it up and gauged its weight. ”Hmm” was the only sound that came from him at the time, and with it came a tone of not being satisfied. Bzzzt was the next sound that was heard, and it had come from him. With a fluid motion, he arched backwards somewhat, bringing the arm holding the pole back with him. He than stepped forward , brought his upper body forward, swung his arm forward, and just as his arm began to curve downwards he released his grip on the rod, throwing it like a spear.

Metal against harder metal. One would expect a clanging sort of sound, and then the tossed object just dropping to the ground upon impact. Nothing was ever normal within this province. The actual result shook the foundation of the building, anything above ground level would most certainly shake, with the building already in ruins it would only cause more damage. He had charged the object with electricity, accelerated his bodies movement by increasing the speed by which the electrical signals from the brain went to the rest of his body, and thus created a force that could possibly rival lightning. Where the wall once stood, was now a large gaping hole.

Enko frowned, it was just as he had expected, the stand didn’t survive. To be more precise, if he had been standing a few feet back the stand wouldn’t have been able to hold its form long enough to even reach the wall. He also had another reason to be disappointed, but at the moment that was the least of his concerns. He stepped through into the hidden room, and approached the vault. He dialed the number combination that was given to him and gave it a quick jerk to open the door. Inside he found clothing, and nothing else.

Undergarments, check. Tight black pants, check. A mesh shirt, check. A trench coat made of some beasts leather and fine red silk to line the insides, check. He ran through the checklist that he had created in his mind. He never could comprehend why they chose this ensemble for him to wear, but he wasn’t complaining. He put on the clothing and slipped his hands into the pockets of coat. Odd, his fingers wrapped around something that had never been there before. He pulled out a silver necklace, with a ring dangling on it. The ring had a gem, that matched the color of his eyes. Surrounding the gem were for forty-two spikes that held the gem firmly in place. The spikes bared resemblance to fangs. He extended his right hand, and wrapped the necklace around his wrist. He had to wrap it three times, so that it wouldn’t fall off because of how loose it was.

Next task at hand, getting out of this hellish building.

[Sorry for the delay, been rather busy these last two days...]

Alair had been alone for almost ten minutes when she finally rose to her feet and took courage to walk into one of the burnt buildings. Stepping through a frame with it's hinges wrenched out of their place and the door shattered across the ground, she entered the home slowly, looking around her with caution for signs that would suggest the buildings untimely collapse. She saw known, or very few, and deemed it safe. Well, safe enough, it certainly had not been during the night the invasion took place.

She was standing in what appeared to be a living room, in the center of the room a single wood table with somewhat eccentric designes carved into it's surface and legs. Examining the wood, it seemed to belong to a tree she was unfamiliar with although it seemed to resemble something like cedar. The difference that made her think it wasn't was that instead of the redish purple that made Cedar distinct, the wood was a yellowish-orange. Maybe it's just how they stained the wood? She pondered standing away from the table and walking around the knocked over furniture. It was as she she was leaving the room the sight of movement caught her eye and she jumped, frightened by the notion of someone being in the room without her being aware of them.

When she stopped, staring wide-eyed at an identical looking person, she sighed, with relief. A mirror... She thought, resting her hand upon her chest to feel her own heart beat wildly. Seeing the mirror, she took the chance to examine herself. Looking at herself, she had teardrop shaped eyes, her sky-blue irises highly contrasted against her pale skin and whitish-blonde hair. Looking at her features they were somewhat simple, neither attractive nor ugly. Average. She told herself, noting the smallness of her face. Yes, small but proportional, unlike her brother who, although her twin, was taller than her by at least eight inches. Her hair was cut short, like her brothers, grasping the ends of her hair she tugged lightly on the locks, sliding her gloved fingers on the hair that was only a little over an inch long. Maybe I should grow it out. She contemplated, and while she thought that she knew she wouldn't. She often considered growing her hair long, but whenever she did she couldn't stand taking care of it. She was used to forgoing brushing her hair and taking care of it like many of the other girls did. She had no time for it, there were treasures to find, books to read, and things to discover. Maybe that's why Brother never had time for girls... She considered, giggling to herself as she recalled the multitude of girls in their own city that would make google-eyes at him. He never seemed to notice, or care, his nose always in some book or another. In a way she was the same with men, but only because she was uncomfortable around anyone not family related.

Alair! Alair jumped at the sound of her own name, not having expected her brother to call out to her. Taking one last look at herself in the mirror she turned away and left the room, running out into the street and listening. She heard her name once more, in the building next to the one she had just exitted, and quickly entered to locate her brother.

In another house, coincidently next to the one Alair occupied, Alain was examining a hatch. This must be it. He thought, staring at the ajar metal manhole with a mixture of excitement and fear. Excitement because he had found what he was searching for, yet fear because he did not know what to expect. Just who attacked Kilawli? He asked himself, no, the house itself for an answer. There was no answer, instead the sound of creaking wood as someone entered the house.

Best hurry. He thought, reaching down to his belt and lifting up a small leather flap. Undertneath the flap was a pocket, of sorts, that had various sections within it, all divided by strips of leather. In these slots there were tiny, thin veils filled with various mixtures and experiments. He pulled one out, checked the coloring of the wax that was purposely ontop the stopper, and removed the stopper for a moment. He watched, as a strange reaction occurred. The contents inside began glowing. At first dimly, the glowing slowly intensified until it was shining a bright red. Good. He thought, replacing the stopped and setting it down gently on the ground beside the hatch. Should I scream or she hear something she will shut the hatch. This was just one of their emergency signals for one another. This one for warning, when one of them ventured ahead and left the other behind to close off the way should something dangerous happen.

Slipping down the hatch, he landed on his feet, with a slight oomph as he touched down. Not a moment after he landed the hall shook. Not just the hall, but the sound of his sister's cry from above suggested that the building they were in just moments ago was also caught in the tremor. An Earthquake?! He thought nervously, desperately wishing to climb the latter and see to his sister's safety. No, she can take care of herself... I must press forward, danger or not. And that's just what he did, forcing himself to turn away from the hatch and walking forward through the dark hall, another veil of glowing light in his hand and acting as a stand-in-torch.

Enko turned around, to face the direction that led out of the vault room, by using his right foot as the pivoting point and going from there. He was about to walk through the hole in the wall, when he noticed something posted on the adjacent wall. He approached it, and stared blankly trying to comprehend exactly what it was that he was seeing. It was a map to the entire facility and didn’t contain much. There was the testing room, which is where he was brought when he was awakened. There was the holding chamber, which was the room that he woke up to. The room holding the vault wasn’t featured for obvious reasons. Then there were various rooms for storage of equipment and medicine. There was only one hallway however, and it connected every room together. It even seemed to lead right off the page. Linking together two pieces of information, the map was of the facility and the hallway ran off the page, he came to the conclusion that this would be the hallway that would give him his freedom.

He stepped through the opening that he created, and cautiously walked through the room. There were no lights on, except for that single computer which held the doctors message. Enko grabbed the screen and flipped it over the desk, breaking it upon contact with the cement floors. He nearly bumped into a wall, but managed to stop in the knick of time. He placed his hand on the wall, and began to walk letting the wall guide him. There was turn a couple feet ahead, and he knew that he found the corridor. This hall seemed to be a tad bit darker.

As soon as he had began to tread through the halls, a light appeared opposite to his position in the hall. It was coming towards to holding chamber, instead of away from it. He ducked into one of the storage rooms, and began to wait. He could easily murder any scientist, but would prefer to avoid any casualties if possible. As soon as this person walked by the door, Enko would make an attempt to grab them and forcefully bring the two face to face.

[Nahhh, it be cool, your keeping in character.

Alain had continued to walk forward since leaving the hatch, wanting to find at least something before checking up on his sister. Around each of the twins necks were special whistles, their designs and shapes unique only to the two of them. They also emitted a strange, whirring sound, based on the shape the air travelled through the pipe, but were loud and shrill enough to ward off animals and alert one another to danger. Alain was confident she wasn't harmed, or even trapped by debris, for he would have heard her whistle. Unless... The thought of her having died crossed his mind, and his face went ashen pale. If she were to have died because of his ambitions he would never let himself live it down. For now let's have hope. He thought, shaking his head to clear the thoughts.

As he walked he would occasionally stop, thinking that he had caught sound of something. It was not the sound of a whistle, much to his relief, but the sounds of movement. They were faint, and not so much movement but as if someone had just broke something. Hm. He hummed, hand going to his belt and reaching for a simple steel dagger. Alain wasn't a fighter, in fact while most boys in his younger days were playing with wooden, or even real, swords he was in his fathers study reading. Not that he was not physically fit or incapable of learning swordplay, he just never expressed a strong interest in fighting through physical means. What he did have, was a trump card he used in situations where it was absolutely necessary. Let's hope I won't need to use that.

On the surface, in the house that acted as a cover for the underground lab, Alair was safe. The building had shook, violently, and the sounds of walls collapsing had made the girl more than nervous enough that she nearly left. No, even if the building collapses Alain or I could still get out. She thought, crouched by the hatch, listening for the sound of movement or anything that would sound urgent or peculiar. It was boring, and in the red light Alair found herself examining the corners and shadows. The glowstick casted a strange light through the cellar, and had she not been so firmly set that monsters didn't exist, in but dreams and books, she would have been sure that there were some there, hiding behind toppled crates and wine stands. Just hurry up... Alair thought, closing her eyes and resting her chin on her crossed arms.

Alain thought he caught sight a movement, something black slip behind a door, and Alain stopped. There is something here. He thought, but whatever it was, was definitely hiding from him. Do I proceed and try and find it or avoid it? He imagined that it may have been apart of the destruction of the city, or some sort of creature that had made it's way into these halls. If so he had no way of knowing how it would react to him, or the red light. So, testing the weight of the tube, he launched it down the hall, and without watching to see if it would shatter upon impact against a wall he rushed forward with his hand on the hilt of the dagger and prepared to draw. He was hoping, that whatever it was, if it were an animal, would see the sudden movement and light, and bolt out of the room and follow it.

Enko was becoming anxious, time felt like it was passing by at a snails pace, his breathing became heavier. Something was up ahead, preventing his escape from the building that he had been a prison to for the past four years. His eyes narrowed, trying to catch sight of the person, or possibly thing, that was approaching. A rat squealed in the corner of the room and he lunged at it, narrowly missing it as it ran into its own hole in the wall. ’Concentrate’ he thought, reminding himself that the person was not in here but out there.

His eyes caught sight of the red glow fly by past the door, thinking that the person was running with it, he ran out of the room and down the hallway following after it. A smashing sound alerted him that this was a decoy, but he still didn’t turn around. There was no time to check if the person was following him. He leaped behind one of the desks in the holding chamber. Enko closed his eyes, well aware that this sense was useless without any source of light.

”Calm down” he repeated to himself, several times, with a hushed voice. He remembered his breathing exercises, that the doctor had taught him, and put them to use. His breathing became regular again, and with a steady amount of oxygen entering his system he would be able to think more clearly. He reasoned that whoever it was in here, was definitely a person. He supported this theory because animals wouldn’t have been able to envisage throwing the light source as bait.

He wanted to call out to this person, asking them what they wanted with him, but he didn't want to any chances. As far as he was concerned this person could be hostile, and end his life before he even got to live it. Enko waited, crouched behind the desk, trying to listen to any sign that could help him position this intruder.

Despite having rushed forward to greet the organism, Alain skidded to a halt and stood frozen still as he caught glimpse of something black, and large, rush out of the room and after the light. Even in the liquids dying light, he watched as it bolted away from the smashed remains of Alain's glowstick and behind a desk. In those moments Alain was tempted to turn around and walk straight back up to the surface, attempt to find people who could fight, then return to scavenge the lost technology. Yet... He could not trust just anyone, being from distant lands with no one to be alerted should he or his sister go missing. Nor could he risk the technology being taken from him. He wished to study it and, if at all possible, use it for good purposes. He had no idea what sort of creature this thing was, or what it was capable of, but with his dagger in hand Alain slowly crept forward.

He could not see, the only light now shattered on the floor. He dared not use another stick in case it attack him. For now, he slowly inched his way forward in the darkness. Before the light had died, his eyes had been focused on the spot the thing had disappeared. He was sure he was moving in the right direction, but in the darkness it was impossible to tell. He continued too inch forward, slowly, the only sounds he could hear was his own thumping heartbeat and breath, sounding hushed and uneven even to him.

It felt like a long amount of time had passed when he bumped into something. When he did he threw his hands before him and pushed away from the object, jumping back and fumbling with his dagger, having loosened his grip unconsciously. The weapon dropped from his hands and he fell back onto his bottom, staring into complete darkness. Now weaponless, and without sight, he was gripped by terror and praying that whatever it was, was also blind and unable to find him. It was around then he remembered the whistle around his neck, and quickly reached up to grab it, fumbling to get beneath the collar of his vest and grasp the metal object resting against his collarbone.

I am now like Judas, done.
Ashamed of what I've become.
Fear for life I wear as a ring.
To bask in your favor I will kill the king.

Enko stayed alert the entire time, but was caught off guard regardless. When the intruder had thumped against the desk, he was tempted to make a run for it, he stood still somehow. Apparently this person wasn’t expecting the object to be as close as it was. A soft thud on the ground, and the clanging of metal on the floor indicated that something happened. The experiments eyes shot open but his pupils weren’t there anymore, rather slits had taken their place. His eyes seemed to glow in the dark, with that green shade that they naturally were, and suddenly he could see everything clear as day.

He vaulted onto the desk and eyed the surroundings quickly. He saw a male on the ground grasping a piece of metal around his neck, not aware that this was a tool used to communicate with somebody else. Not to far away from the person was a knife of sorts, it would still be a stretch to grasp it. Enko pieced together everything that he had just seen, and knew exactly what it was that he needed to do: take advantage of the opportunity. He cleared the desk and took down the hallway. No looking backwards, no second thoughts, no curiosity, nothing remained holding him back. He could have taken the weapon from the person, or checked that he wasn’t injured, but at the moment that didn’t matter to him at all.

One foot in front of the other, similar to the motion of pistons, pushing himself forward constantly. His eyes fixed on the ladder before as it drew nearer and nearer to him. He took a head start and jumped three steps up. Light was at the end of this passage, and it wasn’t artificially made. There was a silhouette of another person staring down into underground tunnel. The thought of another person obscuring his freedom, angered him. This was an assumption though, since he didn’t know that either of these two were simply their to forage for lost technology.

Enko’s trench coat dragged behind him. His arms and legs moving together to quicken his escape. If it wasn’t for the person down there, he most likely would have burned the place down. But there would be no point to torture another person in that hellhole. Upon surfacing, he jumped off the final three steps and grabbed on to the ledge, pulling himself up. As he eyed the other person in the building, he caught some similarities between the one up here and the one that he had abandoned down there. ”He is safe” he said, trying his hand at speaking to somebody. The girl looked like she was more timid than her look-alike, which is why he didn't run away from her.

s**t! Alain thought, hearing the sound of something moving around him and down the hall behind him. He scrambled to his feet, ignoring the dagger that would waste him time, and proceeded to following after the thing. Any danger that he may have been putting himself under, rushing in the dark at an unknown entity in narrow spaces was null and void. His concerns rested with Alair, who may or may not be safe at this point. If this creature, or whatever it was, managed to get out it would, undoubtably, come into contact with his twin. As he ran he blew on the whistle, one hand holding it up to his mouth the other pressed against the wall to help guide him, the boy relying on his memories of travelling through the halls earlier to navigate his way back.

Alair, on the otherhand, was still sitting by the manhole waiting for Alain when the sound of the whistle broke her thoughts. She jumped up, her tensing as a reaction to her rising worry and fear, and in less than a second was staring down at tunnel and staring at the darkness intensely, listening. She heard footsteps, running, and the more she stared the harder she tried to make out any shapes. She hoped that it was her brother, wanting to wait a few moments before closing and locking the only known exit, to them, and leaving him in the tunnels with what ever danger he was under. It was because of this hesitation she failed to close the door, and when Enko practically flew out of the hole, his trenchcoat flapping before Alair's eyes, she fell back on her bottom and whirled her head around so fast she could have sworn she heard it crack as she followed the dark figure that landed behind her, stopping to star at her.

It was a human, or so she assumed, with pale skin and night black hair. She looked closely at his eyes, but in the dim red glow it was hard to tell what color they were, appearing black in the light. "He is safe,". For a moment she stared blankly at him, not entirely understanding or even registering what he was telling her. Than she remembered the whistle, and the one who blew it, and the tense feeling she felt in her shoulders melted away, a sigh escaping her lips. Thank god... She whispered, closing her eyes and letting her head drop. She heard the sound of more footsteps coming from the manhole. Smiling slightly she bent close to it, putting her head through the hole. Lain I'm safe! She called, pulling her head out to look back up at the stranger. Thank you... but... what were you doing down there? She asked, cocking an eyebrow and looking him up and down, scruntinizing his attire.

Enko had heard the sound of the whistle while he was escalating the ladder, but didn’t make note of it. He realized that it had to be coming from the underground lab because of the volume that it was producing. He was musing on the architecture of the abysmal place below, due to the compacted corridor the sound was able to resonate off the walls at a much quicker rate and that’s why the sound was so intense. That was the trail of thoughts that he followed. There was an alternative reason to why it was so irritating to him, but not even the good doctor had managed to discover that.

As the girl spoke his eyes fell upon the manhole, hearing a clanging sound echo upwards as the fellow below was climbing upwards. ”Why was I down there? A very good question to ask.” he said in response. Due to amnesia he recalls nothing prior to the experiments beginning. He doesn’t know where he was born, why he was chosen, who or what he. All this information is lost to him. To a certain extent he knows of his own capabilities, and thanks to the recently deceased scientist, the town he was currently in and his new name.

The slits had reverted back to pupils, pulling a veil over anything hidden in darkness. Enko was no longer able to see the form of the male coming forth, but he was aware that the distance between the three of them was minuscule. ”The best answer I can come up with to that question is that I was asleep” he spoke now having time to have come up with an answer to the previously proposed question. The girls counterpart would surely be able to hear what he had just said.
