It was a warm day and the weather was wonderful, so Steve had decided to take her partners out to play in the forest. They'd found a rather large clearing with plenty of light, and the woman was crouched down making up some toys for them to play with. Her partners - a somewhat older and more serious delibrd called Ornith, a young and boisterous Teddiursa called Oompa, and a rather nosey and pampered Zigzagoon called Wilfred - were busy getting comfortable in the area.
Ornith had decided that, since he worked most of the time while the other pogeys lounged, that he'd take this chance to relax. Stretched out on a comfy stretch of grass, with Steve's sunglasses on his face, the plump Delibird looked rather silly.
Wilfred, who generally was not a very rough creature, was presently darting around and attempting to avoid Oompa's paws. The bear wanted to wrestle and play, which was not a good idea for either of them. Wilfred was more showy than tough, and being so much smaller than Oompa, was liable to get crushed. The bear cub pogey, meanwhile, had an injured back leg and probably shouldn't be doing something as strenuous as practically mauling Wilfred.
Steve finally stood up with a smile. "okay Oompa, come here." she called, pulling out a long, thin and bendy stick that she'd affixed several colorful ribbons of various lengths. She bounced it once and immediately the bear was entranced. He bounded over, watching her wave and weave the little bundle of ribbons about a few times for trying to grab at it with his front paws, at which point she'd raise it away from him.
"Come on, baby bear, keep trying." the woman cooed, moving about a bit to keep him after it. It was good exercise for the rehabilitating critter, and she could monitor how his leg was doing better than if he were wrestling.

"What do you say to a break, huh?" Kayla called out as she released her gang of pokemon from their pokeballs. The first to come out was her shiny Rampardos, Adira. Snorting softly, she went over to the nearest clearing and collaspe, causing the ground to shudder a little before beginning her long-overdue sunbathing. Next to come out was Cassie, her very quiet stantler. The artistic deer immediately went into Kayla's bag and dug out some paper and her color pencils before laying down a bit away from Adira to draw things that interested her that was around.
Now far to follow was the small family of eevee evolutions. Quintrell the Vaporeon dived straight into the lake that was several feet away to refresh. Alex the shiny vulpix was preening her daughter, Krystle.
Kayla sighed happily. It was a beautiful day to be out. Days like these are what Kayla enjoyed when traveling. Looking around at her pokemon, she counted. One...two...three, four...five....wait. Where's Snookie?
"Snookie!" Kayla shouted. "Where are you?"
As if he heard, Snookie appeared with a 'pop' right in front of Kayla's face with a scary expression on his face.
Kayla screamed and jumped a foot in the air. "DON'T DO THAT!?" The other pokemon heads shot up to see what was going on, only to find Snookie in a giggling fit at their trainer's expense.
Glaring at Snookie, Kayla resumed her unpacking for everyone's lunch.

The noise from Kayla being startled woke up Ornith once more and caught the attention of Steve, Wilfred and Oompa. Once things seemed to calm down a bit more, the zigzagoon and delibird went back to relaxing, but Oompa was very curious about the noise.
The bear slowly started loping over to where he had heard the noises and Steve followed, cat toy in her hand. The green haired woman grabbed her medical supplies before she started to walk away - Ornith and Wilfred could take care of themselves but the supplies couldn't and if Oompa did something that hurt himself worse, she'd need them.
They came to another nearby clearing and spotted the creatures. Oompa lit up at the sight of all the other pogeys around and his little tail started to wiggle.
"Hiiiii!" the bear greeted the pogeys he could see, head turning rapidly so he could look at them all. Wow! That was a lot of pokemon!
Steve laughed quietly and followed, patting his back. "Hey there." she called over to Kayla.

 As Kayla's heart rate returned to normal, she pulled out the pokefood as she looked up to find girl walking up towards her.
Adria, being the protective pokemon that she was, got up from her sunbathing and basically charged in between Kayla and the unwelcome human, baring her teeth in warning.
"Adria! Please, it's okay." Kayla patted the Rampardos' shoulder. "Really, you don't have to do that all the time." Kayla turned her attention back towards the girl. "Sorry about that. She is quite protective of me and my gang. Aren't you girl." Kayla smiled warmly at Adira.
The Rampardos just snorted before going back to her sunbathing but gave a last warning glare and teeth baring as she left.
"Anyway, my name is Kayla."
While Kayla was preoccupied with Steve, Snookie went into hiding in the denseness of the trees as a shiny Tailow. His eyes did a quick scan for possible treats when he glaze landed on the cat toy that he has never seen before.
As if mesmerized, every time the toy would move, Snookie's eyes followed.
Krystle, being the curious eevee that she was, ran up to the Teddiursa to meet a possible new friend. Quintrell and Alex followed their daughter not too far behind her, making sure she behaved herself.

Steve smiled politely and nodded as she waited for the Rampardos to go relax gain. "It's all right. She has every reason to be protective, I'm sure. Zatao's full of all sorts of strange people, you never know who you can trust."
The green haired woman nodded her head at the other's introduction, "I'm Steve, and this is Oompa. We heard some shouting and came to see what was up." As she spoke, the toy moved around in her hand, the ribbons dangling from it twirling in the air.
The teddi smiled happily, tail wiggling some more. "Hiiiiiiii, m'Oompa. Who you?" he asked of the little eevee, leaning down to see her better. His wording enough would tell any other pogeys that he was pretty young and not exactly bright.

As Steve brought up the reason why she went to investigate, Kayla'shands went a little sweaty. Generally, Snookie isn't suppose to show himself to other humans and when he does so, it would be in dire situations or in a battle.
Kayla glanced around slightly to see if Snookie was within sight but no, he seem to have disappeared which brought a sense of relief. It's not that Kayla want to keep Snookie a secret, no, it's because Snookie, being what he is, tends to attract thieves and pokeknappers of all kinds.
The trainer returned her attentions back to Steve. "Uh, haha, yes. Sorry about the noise. My psychic pokemon gave me a fright when I called for lunch. He is quite playful, you see." Making a fake look around, Kayla continued. "Though I do not see him now. He's probably watch us, looking for sweets."
The hidden mew, who was still in Tailow form, fixed his eyes on the twirling ribbon. Every time the ribbon twitched and fall, Snookie would open his wings as to fly and catch it but stopped himself. Kayla made him promise to play hide and seek while other humans were around. But it was sooo hard! He just gotta catch that pretty ribbon and play with it, he just gotta!
Meanwhile, Krystle simply wagged her tail happily at the teddiursa. "Hiya! My name is Krystle!" Krystle looked behind her, smiled at her parents before looking back at Oompa. "That's my momma and poppa."
