My oral surgery is on the 13th. I'm scared shitless. I've never had surgery before. And, on top of that, my sister is having the gastric by-pass surgery the day after! Horrible-ness! crying

That is why God gave you hands that and for other things I can not mention on this Board. Secondly pfft Oral Surgerory? My father had Brain surgerory a few weeks ago. Trust me if he can live through that you can live through a little cutting of the mouth. Wait... Yes that sounds right.

Yes, but your father is a grown man. I'm only sixteen, intolerant to pain, and horribly afraid of needles. xp crying

Yeah but think about this way; you have a much faster rate of recovery then someone a lot older.

They put me to sleep when I had my wisdom teeth taken out (they weren't even fully grown yet, they had to remove part of my gums and stuff). It was my first surgery as well. Now that I think about it, I didn't mind the sleep part. They gave me the numbing-gas stuff... Then they put a needle in my arm with clear drippy stuff... Then the doctor with the thick accent said something about school... And I woke up 4 hours later, drowsy and in a wheelchair. 3nodding

You'll be fine. You'll also probably also get to be asleep and/or crazy drugged up so you shouldn't feel anything. A luxury I haven't had during my trips to the hospital. sweatdrop

Oral surgery is nothing to be worried about Hun. It's a piece of cake. They'll put you out like a light and you'll wake up when it's done and over with. I'm very bad with pain, but when I had my wisdom teeth pulled two years ago (at sixteen) I was talking right away when I woke up.
We're all rooting for you too!

I had surgery for my cancer when I was thirteen. It's bad, but it only gets worse if you think about it. Just tell yourself it'll be fine.
Speaking of which, I'm hoping to have another surgery. Unfortunately, there aren't many livers around... anyone want to donate one?

I had my wisdom teeth out a year ago. It really isn't too terrible. Sure you feel like s**t the next few days after but you'll bump back. They gave me laughing gas before they put me to sleep...which didn't work to well cause instead of it making me laugh and relax it just bad me feel weird. I conked out and the next thing I know my mom is waking me up. It's important not to fall asleep again after wards...from what my mom said theres a risk of you not waking up again if you do. Though she let me sleep a good five hours afterwards. I got to watch movies all day in and out of sleep. Oh and I was with out pain med because I ended up being allergic to it.
Ice cream will be your friend. heart I went through two gallons of double german chocolate ice cream. whee

'Tis over and done with. I'm still kind of loopy, but they said that is to be expected. Just finished watching the new Peter Pan movie. It was all right. Jason Isaacs was a sexy pirate whee

And I can sympathize with you on the lack of pain medication. They gave me Tylenol 3 and it didn't work... at all. Me, I was eating ground beef/hamburger and scrambled eggs and very nasty protein shakes. Oh, and chocolate pudding! heart No ice cream though... and I got acquainted with Boogiepop Phantom and Gatekeepers 21 because I lived on my living room couch for a few days. TV is always fun to watch at 3 AM!
