She gently refused a wizard's proposal....

❦Story❦
It was a overcast day in the summer, a kind, young girl, age sixteen, was out in the fields picking berries for her mother to make pies. After she filled her reed woven basket full, she started to go home to her seaside port town, but found a middle age man on the ground off the road. Curious, she went down to see what was wrong. After giving him the rest of her water ration for the day and the rest of her food from her leftover meal earlier, she asked him if what happened. The mysterious man simply replied that he was attacked when he was trying to get to the next town. His horse had fled during the ordeal and now he was lost. The girl gave a sweet smile and stood up to lead him, but as she was about to turn around, the man grabbed her wrist. She turned around to looked at him, and was paralyzed by his icy cold stare...
The man slowly stood up, and bowed to the girl, still having the iron hold on her hand. He proposed to the girl, saying that his fiance died by drowning, and that the girl closely resembled her. The girl got scared and stammered out her apology saying that she couldn't and that she was still underage and that they still didn't know each other. The man then replied saying that what if she was eligible, then would she? The girl nervously shook her head and whispered gently that she didn't want to and tried to pull her hand away from him. The man started to laugh, a hard icy laugh. He revealed her identity of being the fire elemental's daughter. For there was only one family that was able to control the mysteries of fire in that world...
The girl gasped at him asking how he knew. The mysterious man grinned and tightened his grip on her and repeated his request again. She refused again and stated that she did not know him. The man then revealed his identity of being the feared evil wizard. He told her that he would only ask one more time, but the girl refused saying that she wanted nothing to do with him. The wizard started to chant something as the girl felt her ears trail up her head and something growing out of her lower back, she squirmed, wondering what was wrong with herself....
The wizard released his grip on her as he finished weaving the enchantment. The girl slumped to the ground and looked at her hands, now padded with retractable claws, but still had the shape of human hands. She looked at her arm, which was now covered in short, cream-ish colored fur and noticed that she had a black tail. She stared up at the wizard hoarsely whispering what he did to her. The wizard just chuckled and disappeared off into the fading night saying that he'll be back for her on her eighteenth birthday...
The girl ran towards the nearest pond in the woods, carrying her basket with her. She collapsed in front of it, staring at her reflection. Her face was covered with short light cream fur and whiskers and she had black ears on her head. Realization hit her as she suddenly knew what the curse was. She started to cry, for the second half of the curse had disgraced her position of a fire elemental, for her fire powers won't reveal themselves until she became the mature age of eighteen. But now with the curse, the once hopeful day, became a day full of dread, for if she did not break her curse by then, she would have to have her curse forever. The cure was that a boy had to kiss her willingly and she couldn't make the first move or tell anyone about the cure, and since the wizard knew that, he had made it so that people would despise her looks and run away from her. For she will be a cat-human by night, and a mermaid by day. The only time that she would be completely human, would be on nights without a moon...
It's been a year since that ordeal, her father and brother had killed the wizard, and her brother will be scarred for life because of it. Even so, she still refuses to go back. Or not until she finds someone willing to break her curse...
...And now got cursed for it

On my last birthday, I blew out 17 candles!
This is who I am, and I won't change: Before the incident, I was really joyful, outgoing and kind to everyone. After my encounter with the wizard, I became almost depressed and quiet, kept to myself and avoided seeing other people.
This is my history, what's done's done: After I finished crying at the pond, I wondered what I was going to tell my family. I didn't want them to worry about me, or get hurt from protecting me from everyone else, or even worse: claim to have disowned me. So I did what I thought was right, I peeled some tree bark and wrote a note to them using some of the berry juice and a stick. 'I'm sorry, I ran into the wizard and now I'm cursed, I may not be able to see you again' She slowly walked up to her home and saw only one room lit, wondering if she'll ever see the inside of it again, placed the basket with the bark note on top, knocked, and quickly hid behind a nearby bush. Her mother answered the door, not seeing anyone but the basket. Nikorai saw her bend down quickly and scan through what she left behind, she took the basket quickly and raced back inside, the door shutting behind her. For Nikorai, it felt like the sound of her life closing. As she stood up to leave her well-known estate, she heard the faint crying of her mother and little sister, as well as the angry threats posed to the wizard by her older brother and father...
It's been a year since that happened, and I remember it all so clearly. Since I had disappeared in the woods and refused to come into town unless I really had to, my family announced it aloud to the town, and everyone was talking over it. My parents has a cover up story saying that I was in another town for studies, but very few of the townsfolk know the true story. Now I'm not scared of the wizard or forced marriage, what I'm really scared, is will I be able to break the curse before my time is up?...

On my last birthday, I blew out 17 candles!
This is who I am, and I won't change: Aki doesn't like people getting involved in his business, nor does he like getting involved in things that he thinks aren't necessary. He's quite cold to others (including his parents), even though he's popular, and is also quite a reserved person. Although he's so cold on the outside, of course he has a soft spot. But who can dig it out for him?
This is my history, what's done's done: Born in a family of high class, Aki grew up feeling overshadowed by his parents. All his talents were known as 'inherited from his parents'. He always strived for perfection, wanting to be recognized for who he was. His parents often moved around, leaving no room for friends. Although it doesn't seem like it, he also wants to have a good impression on his parents. What he doesn't know is that his parents love him enough already, and that they don't love him for his talents. Aki still walks down this path of trying to step out of his parents' shadows, even though he doesn't let anybody know.

Aki took a deep breath as his bow was pulled across the strings, causing a sound so beautiful it was almost unreal. It echoed across the ocean, although his boots were planted into the sand. His eyes were closed, paying close attention to the sound of each pitch. Vibrations flowed smoothly through the air. He finally had something to pull him away from the business that his parents were pulling him into. He let out a sigh of relief as he let the violin and his bow rest at his side.

Nikorai was listening to the violin music as she was keeping an eye on the fading sun. When the sweet melody ended, she assumed that the person had left. Because now she couldn't see anyone up on the beach. So she swam up to the coast and started to haul herself up onto the beach with her arms. She remembered the first time she had changed into a half-cat, half-girl in the water. It was terrifying, not to mention that her fur and clothes were soaked for half of the night. Since then she had always dragged herself up onto the sand before the change happened, even though it was time consuming and very tiring. She flopped onto the sand as she watched the sun slip into the mountains, and felt herself changing....
Her ears trailed up to her head, and she was self-conscious of the fur and whiskers growing out. Nikorai also felt her tail split into three, her legs and her tail. When the transformation was complete she pulled herself into a sitting position onto her knees and lower legs. hands on the sand in front of her. She sighed, 'The only time I look human, I can't go on land and people threaten to catch me, and the only time I can go on land, people think I'm a evil cat demon and try to shoo me away or kill me'

His eyes wandered around the coast, at the waves that lightly rolled onto the sand. His eyes stopped on... something. Was it a girl or a cat? His eyes were playing tricks on him? Aki leaned forward to get a better look. Both?! He stood onto his feet and lightly ran towards 'it', bringing his violin with him. Hopefully he wouldn't startle her. He was exerting a lot of effort into not making any noises. Aki let out a light whistle, trying to find out what kind of reaction she would give him.

Nikorai jumped at the sound of a whistle. She scanned the beach and found a boy rushing towards her. Scared, she stood up to run into the forest, but due to her using most of her energy to drag herself onto the beach and the transformation, she collapsed in front of the log. Was the boy chasing her? Or was her mind playing tricks? She couldn't hear anything as she heard her heart pound hard and loud in her ears. She climbed over the log, using what strength she had left and just hid there. Nikorai heard her heart pound so hard she felt as if anyone within a ten meter radius would be able to hear her.

She seemed tired and frightened, like a cat who had already been chased before he had approached it. She made an attempt to hide behind the log. Aki thought it was quite foolish, since he had been watching the whole time. He knelt down and took off his boots, now barefoot. Any sound he made was masked by the sand and he easily sneaked past the log. He made a U-turn back towards the log, and he could only see the back of her. Aki held his breath as he got closer, and once he was right behind her, he clasped a hand over her mouth, pulling her towards him. "What are you?" he asked, finally taking a breath.

Nikorai was pulled back and she clutched at the hand covering her mouth. She felt her back of her head against someone's chest and she looked up, finding a boy staring down at her. Her ear twitched irritably and tiredly, "Mmmf!' She tugged at his arm around her neck and on her mouth., 'I feel to tired to move...and yet I still have to get away from this guy, today is not going well....' She unsheathed her claws, even though her hands looked like human hands, she did not have human nails, and had retractable claws like a cat. She rarely used them for attacking purposes, but this time it was for defense. Nikorai used her right hand to rake along his arm where he had wrapped around her neck. When she felt his grip lossen, she jumped away.

It would be convincing if somebody said it wasn't a costume. Aki got too deep into his thoughts and then next thing he knew a sharp pain was sent up his arm. He immediately let go, some blood dribbling down. Aki watched as she made an effort to escape. She was apparently still tired. He ran after her, immediately catching her again. "Why do you even bother to try?" he sighed, not really wanting nor expecting an answer.

Nikorai felt her vision start to blur, 'Oh snap, this isn't good at all...' She tried to pull away, but ended up collapsing in the boy's hold. She sighed and looked up at the boy, or the fading vision of him, 'Great....This is just great....I can't stay awake, and I can't get away fro this guy either...Just my luck' She soon passed out in the boy's arms.

He stood up and started to walk back into the woods, tracing his previous path. However, this time he walked a path, avoiding the paths that would have people on them. Who knew what would happen if they saw this girl. Although he was taking paths he never did before, he wasn't one to get lost easily. In a matter of minutes, he found himself walking through the back door of the house, quietly of course. His parents were still sleeping. He came to his room and laid the girl on his bed, watching her. Aki had intentions of finding out what she was. Could this possibly be something that wasn't dull in this village after all?

Nikorai was having nightmares again, jerking around as she cried silently in her sleep. Even though she knew the wizard was long, gone, dead the freaky guy was still invading her dreams. She tossed and turned eventually walking up in cold sweat. She looked around at her surroundings as panic gripped her. She was somewhere unknown, someone's house, she did not know. She noticed a window nearby and then sat up to try to get out.

She didn't look like she felt too good. Aki waited for her reaction to waking up in a house she didn't know. She sat up, and immediately, Aki knew she was trying to escape. Aki quickly came over and pinned her back against the mattress, hovering over her.
