I'm blaming both sides, Republicans are refusing to really talk about it but Democrats are rushing this through without enough information.
Yes both sides are at fault, I agree with you there. However, the Democrats aren't willing to talk about it either. No one (on Capitol Hill, that is) is willing to debate it. It's always an emergency. WE GOTTA DO IT NOW WE GOTTA DO IT NOW!!! IT'S AN EMERGENCY!!!!!
If it's gonna cost as much as it is, and our national debt is already this high, I think we should take care of the economy first and pay off our debt, then consider a Universal Health Care plan. Not increase the debt when it's already rediculously high enough.
And personally, I'm just flat out against Government Run Health Care. First of all, how are we going to pay for it and where will we get the money? And secondly; Universal Health Care is basically an expansion of Medicare and Medicaid, and those are both flat broke. So how are we supposed to build on a broken foundation?
