Time and time past--- Zia Marvilla wasn't one to usually wander too far from home, but age seems always to bring a certain amount of wander lust. She was beginning to expand her circle further and further out into the Pride Lands.
She had an insatiable curiosity of everything she came across. What animals were these? What plants were those? Why did the light skip like that? What happens if...?
She figured what she could, and invented tales for things she couldn't, drawing from an unending supply of creative, conspiratorial thought. This evening, she was finding river stones and trying to skip them across the body of water.
Brush one off, examine it, flip it up with a paw, and smack it out with her tail feathers.... What was the result? A splash, ripples, sometimes a skip, and sometimes a sink.
It was very entertaining and engaging for the lioness.

 Rodel was use to traveling on his own by now. He never seemed to stay in one place for long but he always made the best of the time he spent there. He tended to be a free spirit like this and his curiousity always kept him moving. He liked the feeling of being able to do as he pleased, not being held back by anything. He was truly a carefree lion. He had his eyes closed in a smile and he walked next to the river towards his next adventure. He had a habit of singing loudly as he traveled. It gave him something to do and no one could usually hear him though he wouldn't mind if they did.

Zia's ears twitched as one particularly loud Sploooinnnggg! seemed to give away to a low singing. She finally turned herself toward the singing as it grew. She began to grin, turning to jump up on a tall rock so her presence wouldn't be a surprise, though she wasn't sure how it could be with as many rocks as she'd been splashing about.
"Hello, good evening, you sing like the stars!" She called.

Rodel opened his eyes and looked up from singing. "Thanks. I get that a lot... I think." he said and stopped, blinking and looked around. He saw her up on the rock and sat down wehere he was "I wasn't expecting to see anyone around here this time around." he said, curling his tail around his side and nodded to himself. He looked at the water, still rippling from her throwing the rocks "Are you by yourself as well?" he asked, glancing back up to her.

"Oh, I'm never alone." Zia answered in a sing-song voice. "My mother's the shaman-lady of the moon, and I'm under her protection, which means the whole sky looks after me. The moon and stars are always there, the sun is just brighter." She looked up, it was a moot point in the evening time though. Some stars were already beginning to show. "But my lion acquaintances are not here, so yes, if that's what you mean."
She waggled her eyebrows at him, looking around as if someone else might pop out of no where. She lowered her voice to a dramatic whisper. "And what about you, are you alone, or are they with you?"

"Really?" He looked up too "Yeah, the stars are always there. That's where my parents are, or atleast that's what they told me." Rodel said with a nod and then blinked at her last comment "What kind of 'they'? If I tell you my 'they' you can think I'm weird, I don't mind." he shook his mane out.

"Yes, really." Zia puffed out her chest a bit with pride, then looked up at the stars a little wide-eyed as Rodel just claimed his parents were actually at the stars. Whoo-ooa, cooool! She instantly liked him.
"Any kind of they." Zia waved her tail slowly behind her in anticipation of the answer, some of the mystery gone out of her voice as she contemplated actually being with the stars. "Are they with you?"

Rodel nodded "Yeah. My parents said that when they were up there they'd send the stars to watch me." he looked up at the sky "And they have. Some nights when I walk, lights come from the sky and follow me while I sing." he looked back at her "I travel with their stars and they lead me on adventures."
